It goes without saying that writing plays a crucial part in senior high school English teaching. At the same time, the English reform of college entrance examination also reflects the importance of students’ writing ability. Nonetheless, the current state of many students’ English writing is concerning. So, it is vital to examine the errors in high school students’ English writing. This study uses the English composition of a senior one class at a high school in Chongqing as its research object. It adopts the text analysis method and mainly discusses the common verb errors and their causes in the English writing of students in this class. Then it proposes possible countermeasures on this basis, with the goal of providing a reference for the majority of front-line English teachers while also improving writing instruction and the quality of student English writing.展开更多
