The influences of canopy temperature measuring on the derived crop water stress index

Crop water stress index(CWSI)is widely used for efficient irrigation management.Precise canopy temperature(T_(c))measurement is necessary to derive a reliable CWSI.The objective of this research was to investigate the influences of atmospheric conditions,settled height,view angle of infrared thermography,and investigating time of temperature measuring on the performance of the CWSI.Three irrigation treatments were used to create different soil water conditions during the 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 winter wheat-growing seasons.The CWSI was calculated using the CWSI-E(an empirical approach)and CWSI-T(a theoretical approach)based on the T_(c).Weather conditions were recorded continuously throughout the experimental period.The results showed that atmospheric conditions influenced the estimation of the CWSI;when the vapor pressure deficit(VPD)was>2000 Pa,the estimated CWSI was related to soil water conditions.The height of the installed infrared thermograph influenced the T_(c)values,and the differences among the T_(c)values measured at height of 3,5,and 10 m was smaller in the afternoon than in the morning.However,the lens of the thermometer facing south recorded a higher T_(c)than those facing east or north,especially at a low height,indicating that the direction of the thermometer had a significant influence on T_(c).There was a large variation in CWSI derived at different times of the day,and the midday measurements(12:00-15:00)were the most reliable for estimating CWSI.Negative linear relationships were found between the transpiration rate and CWSI-E(R^(2)of 0.3646-0.5725)and CWSI-T(R^(2)of 0.5407-0.7213).The relations between fraction of available soil water(FASW)with CWSI-T was higher than that with CWSI-E,indicating CWSI-T was more accurate for predicting crop water status.In addition,The R^(2)between CWSI-T and FASW at 14:00 was higher than that at other times,indicating that 14:00 was the optimal time for using the CWSI for crop water status monitoring.Relative higher yield of winter wheat was obtained with average seasonal values of CWSI-E and CWSI-T around 0.23 and 0.25-0.26,respectively.The CWSI-E values were more easily influenced by meteorological factors and the timing of the measurements,and using the theoretical approach to derive the CWSI was recommended for precise irrigation water management. 展开更多

The drum shearer and high pressure water jet combined cutting system is an effective technology to cut hard coal-rock, but one problem of the technology is the choice of pick and nozzle location parameters. In order to solve the problem, the process and mechanism of combined cutting arc studied and mining seepage catastrophe theory is used to construct the mathematic and physical model of combined cutting hard coal-rock. Based on the model and detailed analysis of combined cutting mechanism, the single pick and nozzle combined cutting test-bed is built to test the main pick and nozzle location parameters of drum shearer and water jet combined cutting system. Test results show that the best vertical distance between the pick-tip and nozzle center point is the sum of cutting thickness and proper target distance in the Y axial direction; the best horizontal distance is the length between pick-tip point and coal-rock surface bursting crack point in the X axial direction. The best incident angle of water jet should be the same as the bursting crack line's angle in theory, but considering other important factors comprehensively, it is more reasonable when the incident angle of water jet is 90°. 展开更多

To facilitate high-dimensional KNN queries,based on techniques of approximate vector presentation and one-dimensional transformation,an optimal index is proposed,namely Bit-Code based iDistance(BC-iDistance).To overcome the defect of much information loss for iDistance in one-dimensional transformation,the BC-iDistance adopts a novel representation of compressing a d-dimensional vector into a two-dimensional vector,and employs the concepts of bit code and one-dimensional distance to reflect the location and similarity of the data point relative to the corresponding reference point respectively.By employing the classical B+tree,this representation realizes a two-level pruning process and facilitates the use of a single index structure to further speed up the processing.Experimental evaluations using synthetic data and real data demonstrate that the BC-iDistance outperforms the iDistance and sequential scan for KNN search in high-dimensional spaces. 展开更多

Although the modified Goldstein filter based on the local signal-to-noise (SNR) has been proved to be superior to the classical Goldstein and Baran filters with more comprehensive filter parameter, its adaptation is not always sufficient in the reduction of phase noise. In this work, the local SNR-based Goldstein filter is further developed with the improvements in the definition of the local SNR and the adaption of the filtering patch size. What's more, for preventing the loss of the phase signal caused by the excessive filtering, an iteration filtering operation is also introduced in this new algorithm. To evaluate the performance of the proposed algorithm, both a simulated digital elevation model (DEM) interferogram and real SAR deformation interferogram spanning the L' Aquila earthquake are carried out. The quantitative results from the simulated and real data reveal that up to 79.5% noises can be reduced by the new filter, indicating 9%-32% improvements over the previous local SNR-based Goldstein filter. This demonstrates that the new filter is not only equipped with sufficient adaption, but also can suppress the phase noise without the sacrifice of the phase signal. 展开更多

The paper investigates current waste management and disposal options for ship generated waste and the associated impact of the waste for port. Data about the ship traffic were provided by the Port Authority and about the amount and characteristics of the wastes by the contractors for the disposal of the ship generated waste. It was concluded that all vessels should be encouraged to use the reception facilities and should pursue a waste reduction strategy and the port authority to provide adequate recycling facility. An electronic recording data system has to be adopted for better evaluation of the performance of the system. This system must record the deliveries for every ship in the port, the amount and the type of wastes are generated. Also must provide information about the maximum storage capacity of waste on board and about management of waste treatment options by the ships. 展开更多

Chloride ion transport in reclaimed soil solutions filled with fly ash (FA) was investigated by measuring the hydraulic parameters (i,e. water retention curves and hydraulic conductivity) of three substrates, namely GSL, GFA, and CFA. Similar simulations were carried out under certain weather conditions. The different boundary conditions of chloride transport were also discussed from FA texture, cover soil thickness, groundwater table level, and initial chloride concentration. Furthermore, the sensitivities of chloride ions to these effect factors were analyzed. The results show that the different top soil thickness and initial chloride concentration have no effect on salinity of topsoil solution in the monitoring points, but they can clearly change the chloride concentration of FA layers. The sensibilities from top soil thickness and initial chloride content are exceedingly weak to the salinity balance based on two dimensions of the time and concentration. While the different FA texture and groundwater table not only affect the salinity equilibrium process of the whole reclaimed soil profile, but also change its balance state. Generally, coarse FA particles and high groundwater table can defer the salinity balance process of the reclaimed soil solution, and they also increase the chloride concentration of FA layer solutions, and even topsoil ones. 展开更多

The driven polymer translocation through a nanopore with unbiased initial configuration has been studied by using Langevin dynamics(LD) simulations.It is found that the scaling relationship between translocation time and the polymer chain length is strongly affected by the friction coefficient in LD and the driving force.However,there is no scaling relationship between the translocation time and the friction coefficient.The translocation time is almost inversely proportional to the driving force,which is in agreement with those obtained in biased translocation.The scaling relationship between gyration radius(R g) of subchain at the trans side with the subchain length(L) is R g ~L 0.33 that is in good agreement with the limiting value for molten globule state,while the curve of R g of subchain at the cis side has two distinct stages.During translocation,the subchain at the cis side is being stretched gradually,and the structure of the subchain transforms from sphere-like to rod-like.When the effect of stretching reaches the tail end,the subchain is at the most stretched state.Finally the subchain will rapidly restore to coil structure.According to the results of force analysis,the retarding force at the trans side is more crucial during the practical translocation. 展开更多

The structure of the South Asia High(SAH)in the stratosphere and the influence of ENSO on the SAH are systematically investigated with the long-term ECMWF reanalysis data.The results show that the SAH only exists in low levels of the stratosphere.The maximum intensity of the High is located at around 150 hPa and there is no obvious anti-cyclonic structure above 50 hPa.The axis of the SAH center tends to be northwest slanting from lower levels to higher levels.Further analyses show that the geopotential height and temperature fields of the SAH have dramatic anomalies during El Ni?o years and La Ni?a years. Based on the Overlapped Multiplexing Principle[12],a frequency domain OVFDM(Overlapped Frequency Domain Multiplexing) Coding is proposed.By the data weighted shift overlapped version of any band-limited Multiplexing Transfer Function H(f) the coding gain and spectral efficiency are both achieved.The heavier the overlap of the data weighted Multiplexing Transfer Function H(f),the higher the coding gain and spectral efficiency as well as the closer the output to the optimum complex Gaussian distribution.The bit error probability performance is estimated.The time domain OVTDM(Overlapped Time Domain Multiplexing) Coding,the dual of OVFDM in time domain is incidentally proposed as well.Both theoretical analysis and testified simulations show that OVFDM(OVTDM) is suitable for high spectral efficiency application and its spectral efficiency is only roughly linear to SNR rather than the well-known logarithm to SNR. 展开更多

Using the recent compilation of the isotopic composition data of surface snow of Antarctic ice sheet, we proposed an improved interpolation method of δD, which utilizes geographical factors (i.e., latitude and altitude) as the primary predictors and incorporates inverse distance weighting (IDW) technique. The method was applied to a high-resolution digital elevation model (DEM) to produce a grid map of multi-year mean δD values with lkm spatial resolution for Antarctica. The mean absolute deviation between observed and estimated data in the map is about 5.4‰, and the standard deviation is 9‰. The resulting δD pattern resembles well known characteristics such as the depletion of the heavy isotopes with increasing latitude and distance from coast line, but also reveals the complex topographic effects. 展开更多

As the scientific data volume in deep-space exploration rapidly grows,spacecraft heavily relies on high data-rate signals that span several megahertz to transmit data back to Earth.Employing high data-rate signals for high-accuracy radiometric interferometry can simultaneously deal with data transmission and spacecraft navigation.We demonstrate very long baseline interferometry(VLBI)tracking of the Chang’E-3 lander and rover to determine their relative lunar-surface position using downlink high data-rate signals.A new method based on the VLBI phase-referencing technique is proposed to obtain the differential phase delay,which is much more accurate than the differential group delay acquired by conventional VLBI approaches.The systemic errors among different signal channels have been well calibrated using the new method.The data from the Chang’E-3mission were then processed,and meter-level accuracy positions of the rover with respect to the lander have been obtained.This demonstration shows the feasibility of high-accuracy radiometric interferometry using high data-rate signals.The method proposed in this paper can also be applied to future deep-space navigation. 展开更多

In this paper,we propose a novel vision navigation method based on three-dimensional(3D)reconstruction from real-time image sequences.It adapts 3D reconstruction and terrain matching to establish the correspondence between image points and3D space points and the terrain reference(by using a digital elevation map(DEM)).An adaptive weighted orthogonal iterative pose estimation method is employed to calculate the position and attitude angle of the aircraft.Synthesized and real experiments show that the proposed method is capable of providing accurate navigation parameters for a long-endurance flight without using a global positioning system or an inertial navigation system(INS).Moreover,it can be combined with an INS to achieve an improved navigation result. 展开更多

The coordination polymer poly(nickel-ethylenetetrathiolate) (poly(Ni-ett)), formed by nickel(Ⅱ) and 1,1,2,2-ethenetetrathiolate (ett), is the most promising N-type organic thermoelectric material ever reported; it is synthesized via potentiostatic deposition, and the effect of different applied potentials on the optimal performance of the polymers is investigated. The optimal thermoelectric property ofpoly(Ni-ett) synthesized at 0.6 V is remarkably greater than that of the polymers synthesized at 1 and 1.6 V, exhibiting a maximum power factor of up to 131.6μW/mK2 at 360 K. Furthermore, the structure-property correlation ofpoly(Ni-ett) is also extensively investigated. X-ray diffraction (XRD) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) analyses revealed that the larger size of crystalline domains and the higher oxidation state of poly(Ni-ett) synthesized at 0.6 V possibly results in the higher bulk mobility and carrier concentration in the polymer chains, respectively, accounting for the enhanced power factor. 展开更多

We first study the robustness property against erasure for the almost norm preservation property of Gaussian random matrices by obtaining the optimal estimate of the erasure ratio for a small given norm distortion rate. As a consequence, we establish the robustness property of Johnson-Lindenstrauss lemma and the robustness property of restricted isometry property with corruption for Gaussian random matrices. Secondly, we obtain a sharp estimate for the optimal lower and upper bounds of norm distortion rates of Gaussian random matrices under a given erasure ratio. This allows us to establish the strong restricted isometry property with the almost optimal restricted isometry property(RIP) constants, which plays a central role in the study of phaseless compressed sensing.
