The Statistical Report on China’s Internet Development released in 2023 shows that “the number of users of instant messaging, online video and short video has remained in the top three, reaching 1.047 billion, 1.044 billion and 1.026 billion respectively, with user utilization rates of 97.1%, 96.8% and 95.2% respectively” by June 2023. And various Internet media platforms with information exchange and instant messaging functions have become the scene where different ideas are intertwined and emotions collide. College students are the main group of Internet users. They are used to receiving and expressing views through new media, especially the spread of emergencies, social hot spots, and public opinion topics, which is more likely to have a huge impact on young student groups. Therefore, universities need to improve their ability to govern online public opinion among college students and grasp the initiative of ideological struggles in the online community.展开更多
