Some the formation and transition of spiral wave in the networks interesting results are found in our numerical studies, i) The quiescent neurons are activated to propagate electric signal to others by generating and developing spiral wave from spiral seed in small area. ii) A statistical factor is defined to describe the collective properties and phase transition induced by the topology of networks and noise, iii) Stable rotating spiral wave can be generated and keeps robust when the rewiring probability is below certain threshold, otherwise, spiral wave can not be developed from the spiral seed and spiral wave breakup occurs for a stable rotating spiral wave. iv) Gaussian white noise is introduced on the membrane of neurons to study the noise-induced phase transition on spiral wave in small-world networks of neurons. It is confirmed that Ganssian white noise plays active role in supporting and developing spiral wave in the networks of neurons, and appearance of smaller factor of synchronization indicates high possibility to induce spiral wave.展开更多

The filter exhibits two typical band-stop response characteristics depending on the incident direction of electric field with respect to the T-shaped resonator. When the long and the short arms of the T-shaped resonator were electrically polarized by changing the incident THz wave transmission directions, the corresponding central frequencies of the band-stop filter were found to be 0.436 THz at 42dB and 0.610 THz at 28 dB, respectively. Using three-dimensional (3D) finite-integral time-domain simulations, the band-stop filter was designed, which can operate in the wavelength between 0.2 and 0.8 THz. Experimental verification was also performed using a free space THz time-domain spectroscopy system. The band-stop response characteristics are in good agreement with the simulation results. The interesting THz band-stop filtering properties suggest a promising application in the modern THz communication systems, THz time-domain spectroscopic imaging and THz continuous wave imaging.展开更多

In this study water vapor in atmosphere was scanned with shortand long-path THz spectrometers with different scan ranges. The full width at half maximum of the THz characteristic lines in long-path system reached less than 7 GHz and that in short achieved -5.5 GHz, indicating that the THz spectroscopy of water vapor can be used to calibrate THz devices. THz systems with right scan ranges could be a promising selection for the identification of solid, liquid and gaseous materials with very similar structures due to the high resolution. The research demonstrates that the multifunctional THz test can be realized through the balance of resolution and sampling space in many fields, such as oil-gas industry.展开更多

It is primarily used to assess the wall temperature effects on the mean velocity profile, Walz equation, turbulent intensity, strong Reynolds analogy (SRA), and compressibility. The present high Mach number with cold wall condition induces strong compressibility effects. As a result, the Morkovin's hypothesis is not fully valid and so the classical SRA is also not fully consistent. However, some modified SRA is still valid at the far-wall region. It is also verified that the semi-local wall coordinate y* is better than conventional y+ in analysis of statistics features in turbulent boundary layer (TBL) in hypersonic flow.展开更多

Among the measures of quantum correlations, quantum discord (QD) and entanglement of formation (EOF) axe two significant ones. Recent research has shown that there exists a relation between QD and EOF, which makes QD more significant in quantum information theory. However, until now, there exists no general method of chaxaeterizing quantum discord in high-dimensional quantum systems. In this paper, we have proposed a general method for calculating quantum discord in axbitraxy-dimensionM bipaxtite quantum systems in terms of Hurwitz's theory. Applications including the Werner state, the spin-1 XXZ model thermal equilibrium state, the Horodecki state, and the separable-bound-free entanglement state are investigated.
