Ratios of Closely Related Elements in Soil and Their Implications

This paper has investigated the ratios of closely related elements such as Mn,Cr,V,Ni,Co,Cu,Pb,Cd,Ba,Sr,La and Ce in the major soils of China,and the factors affecting them,and explored their use as indicators in soil formation,material transport and environmental pollution.Results show that the effect of soil-forming processes on the ratios of closely related elements varied with different elements,and became greater in the sequence of Ce/La <V/Cr≈Ni/Co<Zn/Cu≈Zn/Pb<Zn/Cd<Mn/Cr<Ba/Sr.The magnitude of the variation in the ratios of closely related elements depended on the chemical properties of the elements themselves,on the one hand,and the parent material and climatic conditions on the other.The ratio of Ba/Sr showed a distinct zonality,decreasing gradually in the sequence:cool temperate zone acid soils>grassland soils>desert soils and increasing gradually from the semi-arid subhumid zone soils>the temperate zone neutral soils>the north subtropic zone soils>tropical and subtropical acid soils.

Genetic Diversity of Jinsha Pomelo and Its Closely-related Germplasms Assessed by SSR Molecular Markers

SSR molecular markers were used to analyze the genetic diversity of 8 Jinsha pomelo germplasm and its closely-related varieties from main planting area in Jiangxi Province. A total of 92 alleles were detected from 26 pairs of selected primers with 53. 68% of polymorphism. The alleles detected per locus were ranged from 2 to 8. On average,3. 54 alleles were amplified from per pair of primers. The similarity coefficients of the 8 varieties were in the range of 0. 729-0. 924.According to the genetic similarities based on UPGMA method,all materials were divided into two groups of Jinlan pomelo and Shatian pomelo at the similarity coefficient of 0. 738.

Comparative Study of Salinity Tolerance an Oceanic Sea Skater, <i>Halobates</i><i>micans</i>and Its Closely Related Fresh Water Species, <i>Metrocoris</i><i>histrio</i>

This study aims, first, to examine the limit for tolerance to lower salinity by an oceanic sea skater, Halobates micans, and , second, to make it clear whether exclusively fresh water Halobatinae species, Metrocoris histrio has salinity tolerance. Adults of H. micans were collected using Neuston Net from the starboard side of R/V MIRAI on a fixed station at 8°S, 80°E, whereas those of M. histrio were collected from a small pond filled with a spring fresh water in Kochi (33°N, 133°E), Japan. Time in survival was measured in starved condition under several salinity conditions: 0‰, 2‰, 4‰, 6‰, 8‰, 9‰ and 10‰ for H. micans;0‰, 5‰, 10‰, 12.5‰, 15‰ for M. histrio. Half of adults were in coma due to lower salinity under 10‰ and time in survival was less than 10 hours under less than 4‰ for H. micans. Time in survival was half at 5‰ of 80 hours on average at 0‰ as a control and less than 10 hours at 10‰ or higher salinity for M. histrio. Relatively flexible osmo-regulation ability by H. micans would be related to wide variety of salinity condition of surface oceanic water, whereas very limited tolerance even to lower salinity of 5‰ may be permitted by the no chances to be exposed to brackish water in natural habitats of M. histrio. This study showed that salinity tolerance of Halobatinae species would reflect, directly, the salinity condition of their habitats.

Visible-infrared person re-identification using query related cluster

Visible-infrared person re-identification(VIPR), is a cross-modal retrieval task that searches a target from a gallery captured by cameras of different spectrums.The severe challenge for VIPR is the large intra-class variation caused by the modal discrepancy between visible and infrared images.For that, this paper proposes a query related cluster(QRC) method for VIPR.Firstly, this paper uses an attention mechanism to calculate the similarity relation between a visible query and infrared images with the same identity in the gallery.Secondly, those infrared images with the same query images are aggregated by using the similarity relation to form a dynamic clustering center corresponding to the query image.Thirdly, QRC loss function is designed to enlarge the similarity between the query image and its dynamic cluster center to achieve query related clustering, so as to compact the intra-class variations.Consequently, in the proposed QRC method, each query has its own dynamic clustering center, which can well characterize intra-class variations in VIPR.Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed QRC method is superior to many state-of-the-art approaches, acquiring a 90.77% rank-1 identification rate on the RegDB dataset.

Modeling personalized head-related impulse response using support vector regression

A new customization approach based on support vector regression （SVR） is proposed to obtain individual headrelated impulse response （HRIR） without complex measurement and special equipment. Principal component analysis （PCA） is first applied to obtain a few principal components and corresponding weight vectors correlated with individual anthropometric parameters. Then the weight vectors act as output of the nonlinear regression model. Some measured anthropometric parameters are selected as input of the model according to the correlation coefficients between the parameters and the weight vectors. After the regression model is learned from the training data, the individual HRIR can be predicted based on the measured anthropometric parameters. Compared with a back-propagation neural network （BPNN） for nonlinear regression, better generalization and prediction performance for small training samples can be obtained using the proposed PCA-SVR algorithm.

Critical Behavior of the Energy Gap and Its Relation with the Berry Phase Close to the Excited State Quantum Phase Transition in the Lipkin Model

In our previous work [Phys. Rev. A 85 （2012） 044102], we studied the Berry phase of the ground state and exited states in the Lipkin model. In this work, using the Hellmann-Feynman theorem, we derive the relation between the energy gap and the Berry phase closed to the excited state quantum phase transition （ESQPT） in the Lipkin model. It is found that the energy gap is approximately linearly dependent on the Berry phase being closed to the ESQPT for large N. As a result, the critical behavior of the energy gap is similar to that of the Berry phase. In addition, we also perform a semiclassical qualitative analysis about the critical behavior of the energy gap.

How does the‘environment’come to the person?The‘ecology of the person’and addiction

Currently,psychiatry lacks a field that can be called“theoretical psychiatry”,which uses theoretical concepts and explanatory models:The main stream of research is to collect data of all kinds in the hope that the computational Big Data approach will shed a bright light on the black box of mental disorders.Accordingly,the biology-based Research Domain Criteria of the National Institute of Mental Health have been established.However,as philosophical analyses of concepts and methods have shown,several epistemological gaps stand in the way of a consistent multilevel understanding of mental disorders.Also,the implicit ontological problems in the biological reduction of the psychosocial level and in the integration of so-called hard and soft disciplines are mostly left out.As a consequence,a non-reductive psychological theory of mental disorders is sought that also integrates correlating biological and sociological issues.In this context,one example of promising nonreductive psychiatric research is the option of systems/network psychopathology.The possibilities for integrating different psychological perspectives are highlighted for the field of addiction research and treatment,where pragmatic behaviorist approaches dominate over the theorybased practice of psychoanalysis.In comparing the theoretical constructs of these two approaches,the relevance of the concept of“(social)environment”as the wealth of influential sociocultural factors is discussed at levels superior to the interpersonal micro-level,namely the organizational meso-and societal macro level,which is not sufficiently considered in current biopsychiatry.On this basis of argumentation,the usefulness of grounding and framing psychiatry through the field of ecological sciences,especially human ecology,is demonstrated.Finally,to this end,an outline of an ecological model of mental health and illness is presented.

On the Relation Redundancy in Fuzzy Databases

This paper concentrates on the problem of data redundancy under the extended-possibility-based model. Based on the information gain in data classification, a measure - relation redundancy - is proposed to evaluate the degree of a given relation being redundant in whole. The properties of relation redundancy are also investigated. This new measure is useful in dealing with data redundancy.

Ethical Perceptions and Moral Values of Public Relations Practitioners in the United Arab Emirates

This paper investigates the perceptions, values, and considerations of ethics among public relations practitioners in the United Arab Emirates （UAE）. A questionnaire was distributed to 372 practitioners in various private and government organizations. Practitioners were asked how influential and relevant public relations ethical factors were on the practitioner＇s perception of ethics. Findings suggest that the daily practice of public relations day-by-day professionally practice learning, senior practitioners, senior executives, and managers along with religion play a major role in shaping the meaning, philosophy, and conception of the practitioner＇s ethics. Respondents were asked to describe the level of support they would give to the controversial public relations practices that may generate some ethical problems. The majority of the respondents did not agree on the use of ＂spreading rumors＂, ＂providing false information to satisfy the public＂, ＂misinformation and manipulation＂, ＂giving false promises＂, and ＂would not approve favoring personal interest over public interest＂.

Redox, immune and genetic biomarker system for personalized treatments in colorectal cancer

BACKGROUND Identifying biomarkers for the risk of developing degenerative processes linked to aging and colorectal cancer(CRC) onset that could improve clinical strategies.AIM To determine valid targets and a predictive biomarker's system of chronicization of inflammation for cancer treatment.METHODS A group of 147 CRC patients was studied. Clinical diagnosis was confirmed histopathologically, and patients were sub-typed using the pathological tumornode-metastasis classification. Thirteen colon adenoma patients and 219 healthy subjects were also studied. A system biology study on Thioredoxin1/CD30 redox-immune systems(Trx1/CD30), T helper cytokines and polymorphisms of killer immunoglobulin-like receptors, FcγRIIa-131 H/R and FcγRIIIa-158 V/F was carried out. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay was performed to analyze sera.Genetic study was executed by polymerase chain reaction sequence-specific primers and sequence-based typing method. Statistical analysis was performed by using the "Statgraphics software systems".RESULTS We found a positive increase between Trx1/RTrx1 levels and sCD30 level and increased age. With respect to the gender relationships, there were distinct differences. Females showed a primary relationship between transforming growth factor beta(TGFβ) with Trx1, whereas males had one with TGFβ and RTrx1. Trx1/CD30 controls the redox immune homeostasis, and an imbalance in the relationship between the Trx1/RTrx1 and sCD30 levels is linked to the onset and progression of tumor. This event happens through different gender-specific cytokine pathways. Our study demonstrated that the serum levels ofTrx1/RTrx1, TGFβ/interleukin(IL)6 and TGFβ/IL4 combinations and the sCD30,IFNγ and IL2 combination constitute a predictive gender specific biomarker system. This is relevant for clinical screening to detect the risk of the potential development or progression of a tumor.CONCLUSION Oxidative stress on Trx1/CD30 is a trigger of cancer disease, and the selected oxidation and immune products are a biomarker system for aging and cancer.

Relation Contractive Selfmaps Involving Cauchy Sequences

We obtain two generalizations of a known theorem of A. Alam and M. Imdad (J. Fixed Point Theory Appl. 17 (2015) 693-702) showing that some standard proofs can be obtained involving only Cauchy sequences of the successive approximations. Suitable examples prove the effective generalization of our results in metric spaces not necessarily complete.

急性粒-单核细胞白血病患者造血干细胞移植后微血栓形成凝血指标监测及治疗1例报告

本文报道1例急性粒-单核细胞白血病(急性髓系白血病M4型)(CBFB基因阳性)患者,经亲缘半相合造血干细胞移植后并发下肢微血栓形成,并总结其诊治经验。该患者经常规化疗后获完全缓解,但又于2年后复发,遂予行亲缘半相合造血干细胞移植。在患者接受移植后的常规治疗期间,动态观察其凝血相关指标[包括D-二聚体(D-dimer, D-D)、抗凝血酶Ⅲ(antithrombinⅢ,AT-Ⅲ)、血管性血友病因子(von Willebrand factor, vWF)、纤维蛋白原降解产物(fibrinogen degradation products, FDP)、纤维蛋白单体(fibrin monomer, FM)]。在移植后100 d左右,患者出现黄疸及转氨酶升高,采用经右下肢股静脉置管行血浆置换治疗3次。在去除静脉置管1周后,患者出现左踝部指凹性水肿,血管B超检查提示其左下肢腓肠肌浅静脉丛有微血栓形成;凝血指标检测显示,D-D、vWF、FDP、FM等指标升高,AT-Ⅲ水平降低。予口服拜瑞妥5 mg/d抗栓治疗2周后,患者上述凝血指标渐趋正常,左下肢肌间静脉丛血栓和肢肿消失。在造血干细胞移植后,除密切检查血管B超,动态监测D-D、AT-Ⅲ、vWF、FDP、FM等凝血指标可预测移植相关微血栓和高凝状态,并为临床开展有效抗的凝治疗提供实验依据。
