Cultural self-confidence is an important cultural strategy put forward by the party and the country in the vision of contemporary society,and an important deployment to realize the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. This paper first gives a brief overview of the advantages of cultural self-confidence in external communication,and then analyzes the opportunities and challenges that cultural self-confidence faces in external communication in the newera. Since the 1950 s,the concepts of "heritage" and "cultural heritage" have undergone significant modification and extension both in terms of connotation and denotation.Such a process highlights the international community's efforts to further safeguard cultural heritage by respecting and promoting cultural diversity and human creativity.It is also directly related to UNESCO's continual development of multilateral norms in the cultural sphere.In this context,the safeguarding of cultural heritage in countries and regions along the routes of the traditional Silk Road has been endowed with significance beyond culture.A review of UNESCO's introduction of relevant conventions and the cultural heritage categories it safeguards,along with an analysis of the ICH(intangible cultural heritage) items,indicates that cultural diversity-enabled promotion of shared human legacy does not only concern the cultural sphere,but also has an increasingly profound correlation with the sustainable development of human society.Moreover,this cause is also a research field worth in-depth observation and summarization in discourse system construction and cultural heritage safeguarding in the Belt and Road context. 展开更多

The era of cultural sharing marks itself mainly in the following three aspects: First, the virtual presence which bridges the world together and further broadens our horizons to observe the world in an even more extensive way. Second, the formerly stable structural relationship between peripheral regions and central regions gradually grows uncertain. Third, the establishment of cyberized roads or the cyberized expansion of roads leads the advance toward a global connectivity where the virtual world closely interacts with the real world. After "the Belt" concept comes into being, the anthropologists must upgrade their research from previously established fixed-point perspective to a more extensive observation over the "Belt" or a wider range, while the concept of "the Road" encourages anthropologists to study the culture of the other half of the world, namely, to read the world history as a whole new picture from a Chinese or eastern point of view. It is necessary for anthropology to break the geological and cultural borders in the real world to extend its antenna to a more extensive range, which will also bring the "otherness" of this field to a more prominent and obvious play. It is inevitable that all human cultures are about to take a core standing in the Belt and Road Initiative. 展开更多

With the Belt and Road Initiative,the demand for Chinese college students to enhance their intercultural competence has been growing.Although the students’English proficiency has improved a lot,a large quantitative of students still have difficulties in communicating with people from different countries.With the development of present college education,China’s college English teaching is undergoing a new phase of reformation because of various intrinsic or extrinsic factors.And most of the college students have been offered bilingual courses,EAP or ESP courses.More and more international activities have been held locally,and foreign exchanges and cooperation have become more frequent.From the perspective of the macroscopic social context,European countries have many common cultural origins,which are easy to express in the same or similar English;even if Asian countries and English-speaking countries have large cultural differences,the unique English expression is more common among different participants.By taking 120 undergraduates,graduates,and the post graduates as the sample,this paper is firstly trying to investigate the status quo through questionnaires and inquiries on the demand,the anticipation,expectation,and the relative strategies of intercultural communication skills nurturing in college English courses especially in ESP courses.The survey was conducted among students and graduates of our college,whose professional background and employment field are both the law enforcement and the policing,and most of them have volunteered in international activities or have the experience of international exchange.This paper is then through qualitative or quantitative analysis probing into the theoretical resources and practical nurturing practices of intercultural communication competence in ESP course from perspectives of objectives,activities,content,approaches of teaching,etc.And based on theories of communication,IC,ESP,teaching methods,etc.,the thesis attempts to discuss the present problem or the insufficiency in IC teaching in ESP courses,and to provide several creative suggestions or strategies on how to change and improve the present situation. 展开更多

Five Central Asian countries are active participants in the construction of“One Belt and One Road”.Understanding the acceptance and participation of the“One Belt and One Road”Initiative by Central Asian countries will help promote the dissemination of some relevant issues,deepen the understanding of“One Belt and One Road”Initiative among the people of the five Central Asian countries,and promote the joint development of“One Belt and One Road”to be deeper and more concrete.This paper takes the official reports related to the“One Belt and One Road”Initiative among the five countries as samples,and on the basis of sorting out the number of reports and analyzing the content of the reports,uses Python language to conduct text mining,and analyzes in detail the reporting tendency and its causes.It is found that due to the different national conditions of Central Asian countries and the development level of their cooperation with China,there are differences in the number and content of the“One Belt and One Road”Initiative reports.Therefore,in addition to strengthening political mutual trust,different communication strategies should be adopted in economic,cultural,and media cooperation to spread the“One Belt and One Road”Initiative to Central Asian countries. 展开更多
