Nonlinear dynami...Different from the previous qualitative analysis of linear systems in time and frequency domains, the method for describing nonlinear systems quantitatively is proposed based on correlated dimensions. Nonlinear dynamics theory is used to analyze the pressure data of a contrarotating axial flow fan. The delay time is 18 and the embedded dimension varies from 1 to 25 through phase-space reconstruction. In addition, the correlated dimensions are calculated before and after stalling. The results show that the correlated dimensions drop from 1. 428 before stalling to 1. 198 after stalling, so they are sensitive to the stalling signal of the fan and can be used as a characteristic quantity for the judging of the fan stalling.展开更多
In view of the problem that the multimodal transport network is vulnerable to attack and faces the risk of cascading failure,three low polarization linking strategies considering the characteristics of the multimodal ...In view of the problem that the multimodal transport network is vulnerable to attack and faces the risk of cascading failure,three low polarization linking strategies considering the characteristics of the multimodal transport network are proposed to optimize network robustness.They are the low polarization linking strategy based on the degree of nodes(D_LPLS),low polarization linking strategy based on the betweenness of nodes(B_LPLS),and low polarization linking strategy based on the closeness of nodes(C_LPLS).The multimodal transport network in the Sichuan-Tibet region is analyzed,and the optimization effects of these three strategies are compared with the random linking strategy under random attacks and intentional attacks.The results show that C_LPLS can effectively optimize the robustness of the network.Under random attacks,the advantages of C_LPLS are obvious when the ratio of increased links is less than 15%,but it has fewer advantages compared with B_LPLS when the ratio of increased links is 15%to 30%.Under intentional attacks,as the ratio of increased links goes up,the advantages of C_LPLS become more obvious.Therefore,the increase of links by C_LPLS is conducive to the risk control of the network,which can provide theoretical support for the optimization of future multimodal transport network structures.展开更多

Methods: A total of 148 patients hospitalized for HF compensation were analyzed from A...Objective: To correlate file presence of anemia with mortality in hospitalized patients with decompensated HF (heart failure). Methods: A total of 148 patients hospitalized for HF compensation were analyzed from April 1 to December 31, 2017 in a tertiary referral hospital for cardiovascular diseases. The diagnosis of anemia was established according to the Brazilian Ministry of Health criteria, considering a serum hemoglobin value of 〈 13 g/alL for men and 〈 12 g/dL for women. Data were collected through medical and physical attendance records. Statistical analysis was performed using the Epi Info program, version 7.0 for Windows, with Student' s t test for unpaired variables, Chi-square test and Fischer test. The significance ofp 〈 0.05 was considered. Results: Of the 148 selected patients, 63.5% were male, 60.1% were over 65 years old, 50.74% were enrolled in the first grade, and 93.2% were self-declared white. The prevalence of anemia observed in the study population was 72 (56.25%), of which 49 (68%) were male and 23 (32%) were female. The mortality rate of the anemic patients was 19.4%, a total of 14 patients, whereas the non-anemic patients rate was 7.9%. It was observed that patients with worse outcome had hemoglobin 〈 12rag/alL (p = 0.045) and Functional Class (FC IV) by the New York Heart Association (NYHA) (p = 0.0001) at hospital admission. Conclusions: It is noticed that anemia is a frequent finding in patients with HF and that it interferes in the clinical manifestations, with worsening of the prognosis. Anemia treatment is not yet standarized in the HF approach, but patients without anemia appear to evolve with more favorable outcomes than anemia.展开更多

In contrast to previous works, this paper analyzes the transfer characteristics of CMOS transistors, by combining parallel currents of CMOS transistors in various W/L and negative bias voltages to realize the tunable analog predistortion function. The circuit is fabricated by a standard 0.18txm CMOS technology. The core circuit current consumption is only 15mA and the entire driver circuit works in a band-pass from 1 - 2.2GHz. Experimental results of two-tone tests have shown that with an analog predistortoer the IIP3 of the laser driver circuit has an improvement of 4.91 dB.展开更多

Reactive power control from the power network side is simpler because little controlled object apparatus, such as STATCOM, is required. However, it is difficult to optimize the individual voltages of residential consumers because few data have been obtained by the power network side as compared with the power generation side. Energy loss at each residence with PV is different due to the difference in the grid-interconnection condition, such as distribution line impedance when the same operating voltage is set at all residences. Therefore, in this paper, the authors propose an advanced reactive power control method for residential PV systems in order to optimally control the voltage at individual residences so as to minimize energy loss fluctuation. The effectiveness of the proposed reactive power control is demonstrated by numerical simulation.展开更多

Passive harmonic filters are designed to reduce harmonic distortions at the PCC (point of common coupling) to fall within the IEEE 519 harmonic voltage and current limits caused by parallel resonance. Objective By sorting and analyzing pertinent modern studies targeting auricular point therapy treating primary insomnia(PI),to summarize the point selection rules and clinical efficacy of using auricular points alone ...Objective By sorting and analyzing pertinent modern studies targeting auricular point therapy treating primary insomnia(PI),to summarize the point selection rules and clinical efficacy of using auricular points alone or combining it with other therapies in treating PI.Methods A search on China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI),Wanfang Academic Journal Full-text Database(Wanfang),Chongqing VIP Database(CQVIP),PubMed,Springer and Ovid were conducted from January 1,1998 till January 31,2020.Point selection,diagnostic criteria and Pittsburgh sleep quality index(PSQI)in the eligible studies were analyzed and summarized.Results The difference in PSQI before and after using auricular point therapy alone was more significant than that of using Chinese medication alone(P<0.05),but less significant than that of combining auricular point therapy and acupuncture-moxibustion and Chinese therapeutic massage(tuina)(P<0.05).In the included studies,Shenmen(TF_(4))was the most commonly used(370 times),followed by Heart(CO_(15)),which was 344 times,and Subcortex(AT_(4)),which was 325 times.In terms of auricular points distribution,points in the auricular concha were the most commonly used(1500 times),followed by those in the antitragus(474 times)and triangular fossa(387 times).Correlation analysis showed that Shenmen(TF_(4))and Liver(CO_(12)),Sympathetic(AH6a)and Heart(CO_(15))were used together more often,followed by Shenmen(TF_(4)),Liver(CO_(12)),Spleen(CO_(13)),Kidney(CO_(10))and Subcortex(AT_(4)),and then Shenmen(TF_(4)),Liver(CO_(12)),Sympathetic(AH6a),Subcortex(AT_(4))and Heart(CO_(15)).Cluster analysis showed that the auricular points used for PI can be divided into 6 clusters in 2 major groups.One group was Heart(CO_(15)),Subcortex(AT_(4)),Shenmen(TF_(4)),Sympathetic(AH6a),Spleen(CO_(13)),Kidney(CO_(10)),Liver(CO_(12))and Endocrine(CO_(18));the other was Occiput(AT3),Stomach(CO_(4)),Pancrease-gallbladder(CO_(11)),Chuiqian(LO_(4)),Small Intestine(CO_(6)),Central Rim(AT_(2,3,4i))and Sanjiao(CO_(17)).In terms of patterns in traditional Chinese medicine,the pattern of dual deficiency of heart and spleen accounted for the largest proportion in the studies of using auricular points alone or combining it with other treatments to treatment PI,and then it was the pattern of liver depression transforming into fire.Conclusion In treatment of PI with auricular points alone or combo therapy involving auricular points,Shenmen(TF_(4))was commonly used,and the commonly used point group consisted of Shenmen(TF_(4)),Liver(CO_(12)),Sympathetic(AH_(6a))and Heart(CO_(15)).Auricular point therapy can be taken as a complementary therapy in treating PI.展开更多

This paper represents numerical simulation of flow inside an axial transonic compressor subject to inlet flow distortion,to evaluate its effect on compressor performance and stability.Two types of inlet distortion,nam...This paper represents numerical simulation of flow inside an axial transonic compressor subject to inlet flow distortion,to evaluate its effect on compressor performance and stability.Two types of inlet distortion,namely inlet swirl and total pressure distortion are investigated.To study the effect of combined distortion patterns,different combinations of inlet swirl and total pressure distortion are also studied.Results for cases with total pressure distortion indicate that hub radial distortion improves stability range of the compressor while tip radial distortion deteriorates it.An explanation for this observation is presented based on redistribution of flow parameters caused by distortion and the way it interacts with stall inception mechanisms in a transonic axial compressor.Results also show that while co-swirl patterns slightly improve stability range of the compressor,counter-swirl patterns diminish it.Study of combined distortion cases reveals that superimposition of effects of each individual pattern could predict the effect of a combined pattern on compressor's performance within an accuracy of 1%.However,it is unable to predict the associated effect on compressor's stability.展开更多

We observed phenomena under pulsed voltages that generally do not manifest themselves under direct-current voltages. We interpreted these phenomena with the cathode and anode combined treated as equivalent to a resistor and a condenser in series connection. First,because of the delay caused by the charging process of the condenser, the waveform of the voltage across the cathode-anode gap was remarkably distorted. Second, the resistor led to considerable attenuation in field emission, which was clearly observable within each pulse and became more dramatic with increasing repetition frequency of the pulses. Furthermore, the field emission currents under direct-current voltages were lower than those under pulsed voltages. This disparity is attributed to rising resistance in the circuit with rising temperature. We also discussed the restrictions that the waveform distortion and current attenuation could impose on potential field emitter applications.展开更多
The spatio-temporal pattern of the global water resource has significantly changed with climate change and intensified human activities. The regional economy and ecological environment are highly affected by terrestri...The spatio-temporal pattern of the global water resource has significantly changed with climate change and intensified human activities. The regional economy and ecological environment are highly affected by terrestrial water storage(TWS), especially in arid areas. To investigate the response relationships between TWS and changing environments(climate change and human activities) in Central Asia, we used the Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment(GRACE) data, Climatic Research Unit(CRU) climate data and Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer(MODIS) remote sensing data products(MOD16A2, MOD13A3 and MCD12Q1) from 2003 to 2013, as well as the slope and Pearson correlation analysis methods. Results indicate that:(1) TWS in about 77% of the study area decreased from 2003 to 2013. The total change volume of TWS is about 2915.6 × 108 m^3. The areas of decreased TWS are mainly distributed in the middle of Central Asia, while the areas of increased TWS are concentrated in the middle-altitude regions of the Kazakhstan hills and Tarim Basin.(2) TWS in about 5.91% of areas, mainly distributed in the mountain and piedmont zones, is significantly positively correlated with precipitation, while only 3.78% of areas show significant correlation between TWS and temperature. If the response time was delayed by three months, there would be a very good correlation between temperature and TWS.(3) There is a significantly positive relationship between TWS and Normalized Difference Vegetation Index(NDVI) in 13.35% of the study area.(4) The area of significantly positive correlation between TWS and evapotranspiration is about 31.87%, mainly situated in mountainous areas and northwestern Kazakhstan. The reduction of regional TWS is related to precipitation more than evaporation. Increasing farmland area may explain why some areas show increasing precipitation and decreasing evapotranspiration.(5) The influences of land use on TWS are still not very clear. This study could provide scientific data useful for the estimation of changes in TWS with climate change and human activities.展开更多
In the present paper,computational fluid dynamics(CFD) simulations were executed to exploring the intent of using aspirated cascade to replace tandem cascades.Firstly,the ONERA tandem cascades were investigated,and th...In the present paper,computational fluid dynamics(CFD) simulations were executed to exploring the intent of using aspirated cascade to replace tandem cascades.Firstly,the ONERA tandem cascades were investigated,and the performance of the cascades at the design point were listed,such as diffusion factor,total pressure loss coefficient,deviation angle etc.For replacing the ONERA tandem cascades,a new cascade was designed with the codes BLADEGEN developed by the authors.The quasi 3-D calculations were carried out using the collection of programs for cascade analysis and design,MISES.The cascade was analyzed and designed by using this code.And the cascade was simulated and analyzed by commercial CFD software.It is found there is an obvious separation on the suction side.Based on the 3D CFD simulation results of the cascade without aspiration,an aspirated cascade was designed by introducing a slot on the suction side.The performance of the aspirated cascade was investigated and compared with the tandem cascades,indicated that under the same inlet condition,the total pressure loss of the single row aspirated cascade was less than that of the tandem cascades,and the outlet static pressure is higher than that of the tandem cascades.Meanwhile,the different suction slot location,suction width and suction mass flow are studied for the aspirated cascade.展开更多
Objective: To observe the clinical efficacy of acupuncture combined with Shen Zao An Shen Tang for insomnia due to deficiency of the heart and spleen, investigate the law of treating insomnia based on syndrome differ...Objective: To observe the clinical efficacy of acupuncture combined with Shen Zao An Shen Tang for insomnia due to deficiency of the heart and spleen, investigate the law of treating insomnia based on syndrome differentiation, and thus provide evidence for treatment based on differentiation of insomnia in traditional Chinese medicine. Methods: A total of 62 cases with insomnia due to deficiency of the heart and spleen were randomized into a combined acupuncture and Chinese herbal formula group and a Western medication group, 31 cases in each group. Acupuncture and self-made Shen Zao An Shen Tang were employed in the former, while Estazolam was used in the latter. After a 28-day treatment, the clinical efficacy, sleep efficiency, sleep dysfunction rating scale (SDRS) and adverse reactions in the two groups were observed and compared. Results: The total effective rate in the combined acupuncture and Chinese herb formula group was 96.8%, versus 74.2% in the Western medication group, showing a statistically significant difference (P〈0.05). After treatment, the sleep efficiency ratios in both groups were significantly increased (P〈O.01, P〈0.05), and there was a between-group statistically significant difference (P〈0.05). Also, the SDRS scores in both groups were decreased (P〈0.01, P〈0.01) and there was a between-group statistically significant difference (P〈0.01). In addition, the adverse reaction rate in the combined acupuncture and Chinese herb formula group was significantly lower than that in the Western medication group (P〈0.05). Conclusion: Combining acupuncture and Chinese herb formula can obtain a substantial clinical efficacy for insomnia due to deficiency of the heart and spleen and improve the patients' sleep quality. Compared with Estazolam, it is better in effect and less in adverse reactions.展开更多

Reactive power control from the power network side is simpler because little controlled object apparatus, such as STATCOM, is required. However, it is difficult to optimize the individual voltages of residential consumers because few data have been obtained by the power network side as compared with the power generation side. Energy loss at each residence with PV is different due to the difference in the grid-interconnection condition, such as distribution line impedance when the same operating voltage is set at all residences. Therefore, in this paper, the authors propose an advanced reactive power control method for residential PV systems in order to optimally control the voltage at individual residences so as to minimize energy loss fluctuation. The effectiveness of the proposed reactive power control is demonstrated by numerical simulation.
文摘This paper investigates the usage of passive harmonic filters to mitigate harmonic distortions when two resonant points are present in a system caused by shunt capacitors used for power factor correction and bus voltage regulation. Six scenarios were investigated using DIgSILENT 14 power factor)' software. The investigations are with and without power factor correction and capacitors used to increase bus voltage. Passive harmonic filters are designed to reduce harmonic distortions at the PCC (point of common coupling) to fall within the IEEE 519 harmonic voltage and current limits caused by parallel resonance. The results of the case studies are analysed to evaluate the effectiveness of the filter design.
文摘Objective By sorting and analyzing pertinent modern studies targeting auricular point therapy treating primary insomnia(PI),to summarize the point selection rules and clinical efficacy of using auricular points alone or combining it with other therapies in treating PI.Methods A search on China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI),Wanfang Academic Journal Full-text Database(Wanfang),Chongqing VIP Database(CQVIP),PubMed,Springer and Ovid were conducted from January 1,1998 till January 31,2020.Point selection,diagnostic criteria and Pittsburgh sleep quality index(PSQI)in the eligible studies were analyzed and summarized.Results The difference in PSQI before and after using auricular point therapy alone was more significant than that of using Chinese medication alone(P<0.05),but less significant than that of combining auricular point therapy and acupuncture-moxibustion and Chinese therapeutic massage(tuina)(P<0.05).In the included studies,Shenmen(TF_(4))was the most commonly used(370 times),followed by Heart(CO_(15)),which was 344 times,and Subcortex(AT_(4)),which was 325 times.In terms of auricular points distribution,points in the auricular concha were the most commonly used(1500 times),followed by those in the antitragus(474 times)and triangular fossa(387 times).Correlation analysis showed that Shenmen(TF_(4))and Liver(CO_(12)),Sympathetic(AH6a)and Heart(CO_(15))were used together more often,followed by Shenmen(TF_(4)),Liver(CO_(12)),Spleen(CO_(13)),Kidney(CO_(10))and Subcortex(AT_(4)),and then Shenmen(TF_(4)),Liver(CO_(12)),Sympathetic(AH6a),Subcortex(AT_(4))and Heart(CO_(15)).Cluster analysis showed that the auricular points used for PI can be divided into 6 clusters in 2 major groups.One group was Heart(CO_(15)),Subcortex(AT_(4)),Shenmen(TF_(4)),Sympathetic(AH6a),Spleen(CO_(13)),Kidney(CO_(10)),Liver(CO_(12))and Endocrine(CO_(18));the other was Occiput(AT3),Stomach(CO_(4)),Pancrease-gallbladder(CO_(11)),Chuiqian(LO_(4)),Small Intestine(CO_(6)),Central Rim(AT_(2,3,4i))and Sanjiao(CO_(17)).In terms of patterns in traditional Chinese medicine,the pattern of dual deficiency of heart and spleen accounted for the largest proportion in the studies of using auricular points alone or combining it with other treatments to treatment PI,and then it was the pattern of liver depression transforming into fire.Conclusion In treatment of PI with auricular points alone or combo therapy involving auricular points,Shenmen(TF_(4))was commonly used,and the commonly used point group consisted of Shenmen(TF_(4)),Liver(CO_(12)),Sympathetic(AH_(6a))and Heart(CO_(15)).Auricular point therapy can be taken as a complementary therapy in treating PI.
文摘This paper reported a 25-year-old hospitalized woman complained of recurrent chest tightness and dyspnea for 3 months.The electrocardiogram showed pre-excitation and the echocardiogram showed left ventricular wall contraction reduced diffusely and moved asynchronously.In the systolic period,the regional septum basal segment moved to the right ventricle like an aneurysm.In cardiac magnetic resonance imaging examination,there was no significant myocardial fibrosis.The patient further had an endomyocardial biopsy and pathological examination showed nonspecific changes,only with mild interstitial edema.After an electrophysiological study,the patient was finally diagnosed with pre-excitation cardiomyopathy with a right anteroseptal para-hisian manifest accessory pathway.Radiofrequency catheter ablation was then performed to block the advanced pathway.6 months after ablation,the left ventricular systolic function and synchrony improved significantly,and the symptoms were alleviated.

文摘Objective The present study aimed to estimate the association between susceptibility to migraine and the 12nucleotide insertion/deletion (indel) polymorphism in promoter region ofα 2B -adrenergic receptor gene (ADRA2B).Methods A case-control study was carried out in Chinese Han population,including 368 cases of migraine and 517 controls.Genomic DNA was extracted from blood samples,and DNA fragments containing the site of polymorphism were amplified by PCR.Data were adjusted for sex,age,migraine history and family history,and analyzed using a logistic regression model.Results There was no association between indel polymorphism and migraine,at either the allele or the genotype level.Conclusion These findings do not support a functional significance of ADRA2B indel polymorphism at position-4825 relative to the start codon in the far upstream region of the promoter in the present migraine subjects.

文摘This paper deals mainly with pneumatic measurements on a radial turbine nozzle cascade. The fill radial cascade guarantees the exit flow field periodicity downstream of it. A special traversing mechanism with a five - hole conical probe moving along a circular path behind the cascade was used for flow field investigation in this type of cascade with very low aspect ratio. The analyses of results of 2D and 3D pneumatic measurements including loss coefficient values are presented.
文摘This paper represents numerical simulation of flow inside an axial transonic compressor subject to inlet flow distortion,to evaluate its effect on compressor performance and stability.Two types of inlet distortion,namely inlet swirl and total pressure distortion are investigated.To study the effect of combined distortion patterns,different combinations of inlet swirl and total pressure distortion are also studied.Results for cases with total pressure distortion indicate that hub radial distortion improves stability range of the compressor while tip radial distortion deteriorates it.An explanation for this observation is presented based on redistribution of flow parameters caused by distortion and the way it interacts with stall inception mechanisms in a transonic axial compressor.Results also show that while co-swirl patterns slightly improve stability range of the compressor,counter-swirl patterns diminish it.Study of combined distortion cases reveals that superimposition of effects of each individual pattern could predict the effect of a combined pattern on compressor's performance within an accuracy of 1%.However,it is unable to predict the associated effect on compressor's stability.

文摘In this paper we described our study of the behaviors of field emitters driven by square-wave voltages. We observed phenomena under pulsed voltages that generally do not manifest themselves under direct-current voltages. We interpreted these phenomena with the cathode and anode combined treated as equivalent to a resistor and a condenser in series connection. First,because of the delay caused by the charging process of the condenser, the waveform of the voltage across the cathode-anode gap was remarkably distorted. Second, the resistor led to considerable attenuation in field emission, which was clearly observable within each pulse and became more dramatic with increasing repetition frequency of the pulses. Furthermore, the field emission currents under direct-current voltages were lower than those under pulsed voltages. This disparity is attributed to rising resistance in the circuit with rising temperature. We also discussed the restrictions that the waveform distortion and current attenuation could impose on potential field emitter applications.

文摘The spatio-temporal pattern of the global water resource has significantly changed with climate change and intensified human activities. The regional economy and ecological environment are highly affected by terrestrial water storage(TWS), especially in arid areas. To investigate the response relationships between TWS and changing environments(climate change and human activities) in Central Asia, we used the Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment(GRACE) data, Climatic Research Unit(CRU) climate data and Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer(MODIS) remote sensing data products(MOD16A2, MOD13A3 and MCD12Q1) from 2003 to 2013, as well as the slope and Pearson correlation analysis methods. Results indicate that:(1) TWS in about 77% of the study area decreased from 2003 to 2013. The total change volume of TWS is about 2915.6 × 108 m^3. The areas of decreased TWS are mainly distributed in the middle of Central Asia, while the areas of increased TWS are concentrated in the middle-altitude regions of the Kazakhstan hills and Tarim Basin.(2) TWS in about 5.91% of areas, mainly distributed in the mountain and piedmont zones, is significantly positively correlated with precipitation, while only 3.78% of areas show significant correlation between TWS and temperature. If the response time was delayed by three months, there would be a very good correlation between temperature and TWS.(3) There is a significantly positive relationship between TWS and Normalized Difference Vegetation Index(NDVI) in 13.35% of the study area.(4) The area of significantly positive correlation between TWS and evapotranspiration is about 31.87%, mainly situated in mountainous areas and northwestern Kazakhstan. The reduction of regional TWS is related to precipitation more than evaporation. Increasing farmland area may explain why some areas show increasing precipitation and decreasing evapotranspiration.(5) The influences of land use on TWS are still not very clear. This study could provide scientific data useful for the estimation of changes in TWS with climate change and human activities.

文摘In the present paper,computational fluid dynamics(CFD) simulations were executed to exploring the intent of using aspirated cascade to replace tandem cascades.Firstly,the ONERA tandem cascades were investigated,and the performance of the cascades at the design point were listed,such as diffusion factor,total pressure loss coefficient,deviation angle etc.For replacing the ONERA tandem cascades,a new cascade was designed with the codes BLADEGEN developed by the authors.The quasi 3-D calculations were carried out using the collection of programs for cascade analysis and design,MISES.The cascade was analyzed and designed by using this code.And the cascade was simulated and analyzed by commercial CFD software.It is found there is an obvious separation on the suction side.Based on the 3D CFD simulation results of the cascade without aspiration,an aspirated cascade was designed by introducing a slot on the suction side.The performance of the aspirated cascade was investigated and compared with the tandem cascades,indicated that under the same inlet condition,the total pressure loss of the single row aspirated cascade was less than that of the tandem cascades,and the outlet static pressure is higher than that of the tandem cascades.Meanwhile,the different suction slot location,suction width and suction mass flow are studied for the aspirated cascade.

文摘Objective: To observe the clinical efficacy of acupuncture combined with Shen Zao An Shen Tang for insomnia due to deficiency of the heart and spleen, investigate the law of treating insomnia based on syndrome differentiation, and thus provide evidence for treatment based on differentiation of insomnia in traditional Chinese medicine. Methods: A total of 62 cases with insomnia due to deficiency of the heart and spleen were randomized into a combined acupuncture and Chinese herbal formula group and a Western medication group, 31 cases in each group. Acupuncture and self-made Shen Zao An Shen Tang were employed in the former, while Estazolam was used in the latter. After a 28-day treatment, the clinical efficacy, sleep efficiency, sleep dysfunction rating scale (SDRS) and adverse reactions in the two groups were observed and compared. Results: The total effective rate in the combined acupuncture and Chinese herb formula group was 96.8%, versus 74.2% in the Western medication group, showing a statistically significant difference (P〈0.05). After treatment, the sleep efficiency ratios in both groups were significantly increased (P〈O.01, P〈0.05), and there was a between-group statistically significant difference (P〈0.05). Also, the SDRS scores in both groups were decreased (P〈0.01, P〈0.01) and there was a between-group statistically significant difference (P〈0.01). In addition, the adverse reaction rate in the combined acupuncture and Chinese herb formula group was significantly lower than that in the Western medication group (P〈0.05). Conclusion: Combining acupuncture and Chinese herb formula can obtain a substantial clinical efficacy for insomnia due to deficiency of the heart and spleen and improve the patients' sleep quality. Compared with Estazolam, it is better in effect and less in adverse reactions.
