Research on the Index System of Old Neighborhood Renovation Based on Green Building Evaluation Standard

With the advancement of the transformation,the contradiction between the residents’demand for a better living environment and the convenience of living in the settlements comes to the fore.Effective identification,organic integration,timely adoption,and correct decision-making for the transformation of old neighborhoods are pressing issues in the transformation of old neighborhoods.Therefore,this paper takes the green building evaluation standards of various countries as the research basis and support for the construction of the transformation strategy of old neighborhoods.Through the collection and comparative analysis of the indicators of green building evaluation standards,the index system of transformation is formed,and it also provides a certain foundation for the subsequent related research.

An Understanding of Old and New Buildings in Chinese National Parks with Reference to Mount Emei

This paper presents an investigation on attitudes towards old and new buildings in Mount Emei that is a significant cultural national park in China. Questionnaires and interviews were employed to collect data from those whose careers and lives are affected, and were affected, by the buildings. The investigation reveals that people show significantly different attitudes towards the two types of buildings and place more value on old buildings. People particularise their liking for old buildings associated with traditional values, aesthetic quality and conformity to surroundings whereas indicates their disliking for new ones with changed values from tradition to modernity, unsound administrative management and poor respect for surroundings. It is concluded that traditional ideology tends to be well expressed by the old buildings but poorly by new ones. It is accordingly suggested that ideology should be taken more into account in new building projects in Mount Emei.

Recycling of Old Industrial Buildings in Xichang

With the advent of the post-industrial era, a large number of idle old industrial buildings have been produced in the city. How to deal with idle old industrial buildings has become a reality. Taking the transformation of the factory building of Chang'an Machinery Plant in Xichang for example, the paper analyzed the recycling strategy of old industrial buildings from the basic conditions and transformation contents of the project, re-constructed the new connotation of the building, so as to exert the use value of the old industrial buildings, with a view to providing a reference for the organic renewal and sustainable development of the city.

Daylighting Performance Design for Art Studios of Old Factory Renovation Buildings in Subtropical Regions

In the subtropical zone of China, a large number of old factory buildings rich in industrial historical and cultural value have been transformed into art studios. In the existing research on building renovation, there are still problems such as insufficient lighting, low uniformity, and ignoring the effect of glare in the lighting environment of buildings after transformation. To fill this research gap, this paper provides a daylighting design strategy for these factory buildings in subtropical zones to ensure that the transformed art studios can offer an excellent indoor daylighting environment. Through the control variable method, the window-to-wall ratio, the form of external windows, and the visible light transmittance of glass are set with quantitative and variable values, and a design strategy that meets the requirements of international general daylighting standards is obtained step by step through the simulation. The daylight factor, uniformity, daylight autonomy, and dynamic glare probability are used in this research process to measure whether the daylighting strategy meets the daylighting requirements of the CIBSE Lighting Guide for art studios. The results show that the average indoor lighting coefficient can be increased from 1.29 to 6.18, and the minimum value of the lighting coefficient can be increased from 0.4 to 4.4 by enlarging the windowed wall ratio from 1:30 to 1:3, using the combination method of the horizontal window, skylight and skylight recommended by the analysis results, and selecting veneer glass with 88% transmittance. This allows for better uniform lighting inside the building and reduces glare. This conclusion can support the lighting performance design of industrial buildings in the future.

Reform of Green Spaces in Old Residential Districts——A Case Study of the Old Wujie Residential District of Urumqi Railway Bureau in China

Taking green space reform in the Old Wujie Residential District of Urumqi Railway Bureau for example, current situation of green spaces in old residential districts of Urumqi City was introduced, and problems were summarized as "limited plant species, simple plant furnishings; improper planting location; conflicts between plant and pipe layout; serious competition leading to poor growth of plants; small ratio of green space, worn infrastructure; backward management level, and poor protection consciousness of residents". In view of these problems, relevant suggestions were given to improve infrastructure and plant furnishings in the study district, and to provide reference for green space reform in old residential districts in northwest China.

Analysis of the Variations of Body Build of Middle-and Old-aged and Research on the Prototype

The characteristics of body build of middle - and old -aged women and its rule of variations as well as the basic sizes of various parts are discussed. All these are based on the body measurements of this age group, and also on the statistical studies of the measurement data. By setting the regression equation, the calculating formulae of various control parts are obtained, thus establishing the prototype of this age group for women.

Design of Prefabricated Old-age Building Based on Modularization:A Case Study of Institutional Elderly Houses Design in Taigou Village,Xi'an City

Old-age building was designed in Ziwu Town,from the aspects of energy saving,environmental protection,full use of solar energy and characteristics of the local climate.In order to meet the requirements of energy conservation,environmental protection and climate adaptability of residential buildings,this paper integrates the construction and design in the prefabricated building design,at the same time,with the consideration of the possibility of expansion and removal of the nursing home,the concept of "modular unit" is put forward.Considering the climatic adaptability of the base position,the utilization of solar energy and the organization of natural ventilation should be paid attention to,also,the rammed soil construction method is added in this design,which can improve the thermal insulation performance of the building enclosure and create a comfortable indoor thermal environment both in winter and summer.In order to realize the object of industrial building construction and design,the prefabricated construction method is used,which produces impact on the surrounding environment more environmentally friendly.The building will be easily built,less restricted,and low-cost.What's more,local material and the advantages of all dry work increase the operability of the project.

Innovative Thinking on the Renovation Design of Old Industrial Building Space

The current study investigated the value and significance of the existence of the old industrial buildings, as well as the necessity and difficulty to renovate the design. Combined with successful cases, this study analyzed and showed that one should not only deal with the relationship between the original architectural style and construction of modem cities in the process of renovation design of the old industrial building space. More attention should also be paid to create new space to meet the functional requirements of the modem features, and then complete substantial renovation of old industrial building space through the innovative design. In the use of aesthetic innovative design for the renovation of the old industrial building space, people must respect the space of old industrial buildings as the prerequisite of the renovation design. It is needed to expound the local space reconstruction methods and design principles respectively on the basis of respect. And then one should grasp the whole space and make the structured design and reasonable use according to the new space functional requirements of different functional areas. This paper attempted to learn from environmental art study on the renovation of old industrial buildings space and in terms of innovative design. The authors explored the innovative thinking on the renovation design of old industrial building space through the analysis of the reality.

Several issues in reform and development of China’s old-age security system

Since China’s reform and opening to the outside world,especially since the mid-1990s,China's social security system has undergone a number of reforms and adjustments.We can say that the basic framework of social insurance system had been established,but it is still facing many difficulties such as small coverage,high payment rates,"empty" individual accounts,etc.The question is whether China will choose the proper way from so many suggestions inside and outside China to solve the above issues.I will analyze some important issues on pension reform and old age security system construction and give my own view in this paper.

Teaching Exploration of Green Building Design Practice

People's Awareness of the Building Problems Existing in Mount Emei National Park

Studies on the awareness of the problems existing in new and old buildings in Mount Emei National Park have been carried out. It is found that the problems in relation to old and to new buildings are different. Then, authorities that can combat problems of old and new buildings are in general different. After that, in relation to old buildings, architectural design institution and religious unit are considered to be able to deal with the problems resulting from function and utilisation and the Mount Emei Authority to those from organisation and management. In relation to the new, the planning institution is believed to be the most authoritative to tackle surrounding and traditional value problems while the architectural design institution is well placed to resolve aesthetic problems. Finally, both old and new buildings require improved powers, policy, administration and organisation to combat the problems although financial resources are emphasised for the old buildings and improvements in planning and architectural design for the new ones.

The community is the basic development unit and governance unit of a city,and it is a direct tool to improve the happiness and sense of acquisition of residents.In the context of high-quality urban development,how to improve the community environment,enhance the quality of community life,and satisfy residents’ yearning for a better life has attracted more and more attention from all walks of life.The study selected Pingguoyuan Street in Shijingshan District as the research object.Based on the optimization and transformation of community micro-space,meeting the needs of residents is taken as the core,and a comprehensive survey of the street’s historical buildings,public spaces,characteristic resources and community supporting facilities,etc.is conducted,and the current issues are concluded and summarized.Moreover,spatial optimization suggestions are proposed in areas such as functional implantation,image regeneration,and historical inheritance.

Key Elements of “Family” Life Style of Old-age Residential Facilities

The problem of old-age care in China is more and more serious. Under the background of continuous promotion of community old-age, the importance of research on the"family" life style of oldage residential facilities has become increasingly prominent. Through field survey of different types of oldage residential facilities and questionnaire interviews, the shortcomings of the old-age residential facilities in Xi’an were compared and summarized, and the key elements of "family" life style of the old-age residential facilities were concluded, which mainly include urban community embeddedness, family structure elements, indoor furnishings and accompanying care system. The "family" life style of the old-age residential facilities can not only maintain the "kinship" living needs, but also conform to the new direction of promoting the "community" of the old-age residential facilities in China.
