A Revision Model in Writing for Novice Writers with a Focus on Audience and Feedback

Revision is a complex,yet important phase in writing to improve the quality of a text.Some revision models are created to explain its components and the ways these components work.However,analysis of available models shows that they are proposed mainly for expert writers,who can complete the complex revision process individually,without the need of support or feedback.Most of the available revision models also do not include audience as a component.Therefore,the purpose of this paper is to introduce an alternative revision model for novice writers at or higher than highschool level with a focus on audience and feedback.First,the definition of revision is made,which is followed by summaries of the importance of audience and feedback in writing.Second,available revision models in literature that serves as the basis of the alternative model are reviewed.Finally,the alternative revision model is introduced with its components and the way these components work is explained.The revision model presented in this paper will contribute to literature on writing by filling the gap in revision models by proposing a model for novice writers and highlighting the importance of audience and feedback.

Research on cognitive model of English major writing course based on the Internet

DISE Learning Model for Teaching Writing to Elementary School Students

DISE learning model refers to the one which is dialogue-based using scientific approach containing edutainment element. DISE is the acronym of dialog, scientific, and edutainment. It is a learning model which is developed for the fifth graders of elementary school particularly for teaching writing of personal recount. This article described DISE learning model from the theoretical basis, meaning, and syntax. DISE was the product of Research and Development design conducted in Banyumas Regency, Central Java Province, Indonesia. DISE learning model can serve as a reference for elementary school teachers for teaching writing.

Teaching Writing Through Students’ Model Essays

As writing teachers,marking students’ essays is always time-consuming and frustrating,especially when there are large-siged classes.Students’ model essays are a good choice for writing teaching.On one hand,there are always students who write excellent essays;on the other hand.students are also interested in learning from peer’s writing,authentic and natural.This paper alms to explore effective writing teaching method in large-sized class by lecturing on student’s model essay appraise in terms of logical organization,fluency,and accuracy of content,appropriate use of word,phrase,sentence structure and syntax,and last common error correction.Students will learn how to use writing strategies to write an essay.As an instructor and facilitator,writing teacher should encourage students to seek both teachers’ and peers’ help in the form of group discussion so that they can revise and edit their draft essays by themselves.

Furthering College Students' English Writing Skills:Model Thinking

The paper aims at proffering a solution for college English who experience a dilemma that they cannot tap their potential fully to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of writing in English. The author recommends model thinking which entails habitual application of models and thus formulating a kind of efficient thinking in composing and arranging the existent linguistic and disciplinary resources established in the students' mind as an approach for those students to further their English writing skills.

不同大语言模型对非英语专业大学生英语写作词汇丰富性反馈的对比研究

采用Read(2000)提出的词汇丰富性的四个维度,对比豆包大模型、GPT-4o、文心一言大模型针对词汇丰富性给出的意见及修改后的作文,分析词汇错误的原因,运用工具TAALED、RANGE32、AntConc4.2.4对比修改后文章的词汇变化度、词汇复杂度、词汇密度是否有显著差异,旨在让学生有针对性地修改,最终提高英语写作质量。研究发现:对于词汇变化度和词汇复杂度,文心一言大模型的数值高于豆包大模型和GPT-4o;对于词汇密度,文心一言大模型和GPT-4o无显著差异,数值均大于豆包大模型。三个大语言模型提出的词汇错误方面的修改意见均倾向于语法错误和拼写错误,其中豆包大模型还指出了搭配方面的错误。

PPA-CM模型在双曲混凝土拱坝变形监控指标拟定中的应用

针对大坝观测数据的模糊性和随机性问题,引入投影寻踪法(PPA)及云模型(CM)理论,提出了基于PPA-CM模型的大坝变形监控指标拟定方法。模型采用投影寻踪法确定大坝各变形测点权重,运用信息熵理论构建多测点变形熵,基于云模型理论计算多测点变形熵的数字特征值,并依据云模型的3En规则,拟定了大坝变形测点的监控指标。结合实例,通过与小概率法结果对比分析,表明该方法合理、可行,具有重要工程应用价值。

The Key to Second Language Writing Performance： The Relationship Between Lexical Competence and Writing

Vocabulary knowledge is an important component of the writing skill and it has many dimensions, such as size, depth, and productive, in interaction with writing skill. To evaluate this relation and determine which dimension is the most effective for second language writing quality, the present study was conducted. Turkish EFL （English as a Foreign Language） learners＇ lexical competence and writing abilities were examined through their vocabulary profiles and academic essays. The results of each vocabulary measure indicated that the participants had a limited vocabulary size, containing words mostly from 2,000 to 3,000 frequency bands and thus, the productive vocabulary knowledge of the participants mostly consisted of lk ＋ 2k words and the use of academic words in their essays was very low. The results of the study revealed that the lexical competence covering the main components of vocabulary knowledge was a good predictor of the students＇ quality of writing performance.

Security Threats to Business Information Systems Using NFC Read/Write Mode

Radio Frequency IDentification(RFID)and related technologies such as Near Field Communication(NFC)are becoming essential in industrial contexts thanks to their ability to perform contactless data exchange,either device-to-device or tag-to-device.One of the three main operation modes of NFC,called read/write mode,makes use of the latter type of interaction.It is extensively used in business information systems that make use of NFC tags to provide the end-user with augmented information in one of several available NFC data exchange formats,such as plain text,simple URLs or enriched URLs.Using a wide variety of physical form factors,NFC-compatible tags(wireless transponders)are currently available in many locations with applications going from smart posters,contactless tokens,tap-and-go payments or transport ticketing to automated device configuration,patient identification at hospitals or inventory management within supply chains.Most of these applications handle sensitive processes or data.This paper proposes a complete security threat model for the read/write operation mode of NFC used in Next Generation Industrial IoT(Nx-IIoT)contexts.This model,based on a wellknown methodology,STRIDE,allows developers and users to identify NFC applications vulnerabilities or weaknesses,analyze potential threats,propose risk management strategies,and design mitigation mechanisms to mention only some significant examples.

A systematic printability study of direct ink writing towards high-resolution rapid manufacturing

Direct ink writing(DIW)holds enormous potential in fabricating multiscale and multi-functional architectures by virtue of its wide range of printable materials,simple operation,and ease of rapid prototyping.Although it is well known that ink rheology and processing parameters have a direct impact on the resolution and shape of the printed objects,the underlying mechanisms of these key factors on the printability and quality of DIW technique remain poorly understood.To tackle this issue,we systematically analyzed the printability and quality through extrusion mechanism modeling and experimental validating.Hybrid non-Newtonian fluid inks were first prepared,and their rheological properties were measured.Then,finite element analysis of the whole DIW process was conducted to reveal the flow dynamics of these inks.The obtained optimal process parameters(ink rheology,applied pressure,printing speed,etc)were also validated by experiments where high-resolution(<100μm)patterns were fabricated rapidly(>70 mm s^(-1)).Finally,as a process research demonstration,we printed a series of microstructures and circuit systems with hybrid inks and silver inks,showing the suitability of the printable process parameters.This study provides a strong quantitative illustration of the use of DIW for the high-speed preparation of high-resolution,high-precision samples.

Constructing a Model of Digestion in a Primary School Using a Theatrical Performance

The aim of this study is to analyze the difficulties of reading and writing experienced by primary school pupils when writing a script for a theatrical performance called ＂digestion＂. Our main research questions are： how does a theatrical performance help to reconsider the scripts and to build a model of the digestive system？ The pupils were encouraged to stage a theatrical performance for the whole school, explaining the digestion of a sandwich, a glass of water, an apple and a piece of chewing gum. The play helped to develop not only knowledge but also language. Having to produce a text for two different audiences, teachers and other learners led the students to debate between using ＂academic＂ vocabulary or more everyday vocabulary. Overall we found that they were more concerned with writing ＂academic＂ scripts, influenced by the texts that they consulted, than with writing a play accessible to all audiences.

基于三幕结构思维链和语义自洽的事件驱动故事生成方法

事件驱动故事生成旨在根据有限的故事背景和事件信息生成连贯且符合事件内容的故事.然而,现有方法常因对复杂的事件关系推理不足,导致生成的故事存在语义不连贯、情节冲突等问题.为此,文中提出基于三幕结构思维链和语义自洽的事件驱动故事生成方法,在生成故事前选择类型多样的故事示例,学习不同类型故事的写作方式.生成故事时,按照故事的开端、冲突和结局三幕结构设计思维链,引导方法合理规划故事内容,避免故事情节前后矛盾.生成故事后,引入语义自洽,模拟作家的推敲过程,从生成的多个故事中选择语义一致、连贯性和相关性较高的故事.实验表明,相比提示学习方法,文中方法的BLEU-4和BERTScore指标值有所提升,并且在人工评估中也占有一定的优势.
