This paper will try to apply Andre Lefevere's rewriting theory to study subtitling.Through the analysis of The Last Emperor and its two Chinese translations,we will explore how ideology manipulates subtitle translation.

A Study of Ezra Pound's Cathay from the Perspective of Rewriting Theory

Ezra Pound, not only a prominent poet but also a translator, published Cathay, which is translation of 19 classic Chinese poems on the basis of Fenollosa's notes. Since its publication, it receives warm welcome from western readers but dispute also exists due to some mistranslations. This paper aims to use rewriting theory to evaluate this work from a fresh perspective.Rewriting theory, which was proposed by Andre Lefevere, asserts that ideology, poetics and patronage would exert influence on translation. With analysis of the original work, notes of Fenollosa, it can be concluded that Cathay is under the manipulation of ideology and poetics of Pound's era. With regard to ideology, The World WarⅠinfluences the subject Pound chose and the methods he used. On the part of poetics, Pound launched Imagism Movement against the dominant Victorian poetics. Direct images,concise language and free verse are embedded in Cathay.

A Study of Evan King's Rickshaw Boy——from the Perspective of Ideology Under the Rewriting Theory

Translation is deemed negotiation between cultures by cultural school in the West.Disparity in status makes equality in cross-culture exchange unreachable.Rewriting theory initiated by Lefevere is symbolic of cultural studies,advocating translation as rewriting under the constraints of ideology,patronage and poetics.Evan King employed domestication when rendering Luotuo Xiangzi,and his translation is far from faithful due to rewritings.In terms of cross-cultural exchange and reproduction of SL culture,Rickshaw Boy is not much of a success.

Active XML Document Rewriting Based on Tree Automata Theory

The problem of document rewriting is a fundamental problem in active XML（AXML） data exchange and usually has a higher complexity. Prior work was focused on string automaton theory. This paper tries to solve it by using tree automaton. More precisely, the paper firstly defines a new tree automaton, active XML tree automaton （AXTA）, which can efficiently represent the set of AXML documents produced by an AXML document or AXML document schema. And then, an algorithm for constructing AXTA automaton is also proposed. Finally, a polynomial time（PTIME） determining algorithm for AXML document rewriting is presented based on AXTA automaton.

Cognitive Translation of Paintings of Lijiang Painting School Under the Guidance of Rewriting Theory

It is an important task to communicate Chinese culture with other countries in the more conflicting global world.Lijiang Painting School plays a very important part in Chinese art,and it greatly influences the painters of various periods in China.In this context,some representative paintings of Lijiang Painting School in different periods were collected in this paper as the research objects.The rewriting theory was applied in the study because Chinese readers and English readers have different cultural backgrounds and diverse thinking.Based on the rewriting theory,these representative paintings were translated and the explained in English.In the study,it is found that as an intersemiotic translation,the translation of the representative paintings of Lijiang Painting School should be focused on those target readers who can’t comprehend directly from the paintings.In addition,the artistic integrity should be considered first before details in paintings.Therefore,the overall perception of target readers gaining from the translations should be paid more attention to rather than metaphrase.The translation under the guidance of rewriting theory will be helpful for the target readers to understand the connotation of source culture with some cultural images of target readers.

A Study on the Strategies and Influencing Factors of the Subtitle Translation of the Film Mulan from the Perspective of the Rewriting Theory

As globalization and the film market develop rapidly, subtitle translation is getting more attention. Since the rewriting theory was put forward, it has been widely studied and effectively applied in translation practice. Taking Lefevere’s rewriting theory asits theoretical basis and the Chinese subtitle translation of the Disney film Mulan as its corpus, this thesis adopts a qualitative research method to analyze the rewriting phenomenon in subtitle translation. The thesis attempts to sum up the strategies adopted bythe translator in the rewriting, as well as the factors affecting and manipulating the rewriting. The study demonstrates that the translator’s rewriting behavior has been manipulated by both ideology and poetics. The translator has adopted Chinese idioms and folkadages, highlighted the traditional Chinese culture and used alternative words to rewrite, all of which helps to transcend the ideological differences and cater to the needs of the Chinese audience.

More and more translators and scholars are focusing their attention on Levefere's Rewriting Theory for it provides method to explain translation phenomenon in broader social culture context. Effect of extended nursing based on self-efficacy theory on the anxiety of patients with intertrochanteric fracture

BACKGROUND Extended care based on self-efficacy theory to elderly patients with intertrochanteric fractures will provide data reference to optimize the care plan of these patients,reduce patients’concurrent mental diseases,and improve prognosis.AIM To analyze the value of extended nursing based on the self-efficacy theory in older patients with intertrochanteric fractures.METHODS Older patients with intertrochanteric fractures(n=88)admitted to our hospital between January 2021 and December 2024 were randomly divided into two groups-the control group(n=44,routine nursing)and the observation group(n=44,extended nursing)-via balloting and treated for 12 weeks.The mental state,pain severity,limb function,and self-nursing ability of all patients before and after nursing were analyzed.RESULTS After nursing,the Hamilton Anxiety Scale and General Self-Efficacy Scale scores of patients in the two groups improved.Notably,Hamilton Anxiety Scale and General Self-Efficacy Scale scores in the observation group were lower and higher,respectively,than those in the control group(P<0.05).The pain severity in the observation group(2.64±0.22)was lower than that in the control group(2.85±0.41)(P<0.05).The recovery rate of limb function was higher in the observation group than in the control group(P<0.05).In addition,the self-nursing ability scores of the patients in both groups increased,with a significantly higher score in the observation group(P<0.05).CONCLUSION Extended nursing based on the self-efficacy theory can significantly improve mental state,relieve pain,and promote the recovery of limb function and self-nursing ability in older patients with intertrochanteric fractures.

Nursing interventions based on Snyder’s hope theory for depression following percutaneous coronary interventions:A clinical study

BACKGROUND Patients with depression following coronary heart disease often exhibit insufficient psychological resilience and self-care abilities;therefore,emphasis must be placed on nursing interventions.AIM To analyze the application value of problem-oriented education combined with nursing interventions based on the Snyder hope theory model in depressed patients after percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI).METHODS This study included 150 patients diagnosed with PCI postoperative depression because of coronary heart disease between February 2022 and February 2024.Participants were divided into two groups:A control group(n=75)receiving problem-oriented education and an observation group(n=75)receiving combined nursing interventions based on the Snyder hope theory model.Depression status,psychological resilience,self-care ability,and quality of life were compared between the two groups.RESULTS Before nursing interventions,there were no significant differences between the two groups(P>0.05).After the interventions,depression scores decreased while psychological resilience,self-care ability,and quality of life scores increased significantly in the observation group compared to that in the control group,with statistically significant differences noted(P<0.05).This combined approach can enhance psychological resilience,improve self-care abilities,and elevate the overall quality of life,warranting further promotion in clinical practice.CONCLUSION Combination of problem-oriented education and nursing interventions based on the Snyder hope theory model effectively alleviates depression in patients following PCI for coronary heart disease.

Increasing the rewriting speed of optical rewritable e-paper by selecting proper liquid crystals

The effect of interaction between liquid crystal （LC） and photoalignment material on the speed of optical rewriting process is investigated. The theoretical analysis shows that a smaller frank elastic constant K22 of liquid crystal corresponds to a larger twist angle, which gives rise to a larger rewriting speed. Six different LC cells with the same boundary conditions （one substrate is covered with rubbed polyimide （PI） and the other with photo sensitive rewritable sulfuric dye I（SD1）） are tested experimentally under the same illumination intensity （450 nm, 80 mW/cm2）. The results demonstrate that with a suitable liquid crystal, the LC optical rewriting speed for e-paper application can be obviously improved. For two well known LC materials E7 （K22 is larger） and 5CB （K22 is smaller）, they require 11 s and 6 s corresponding to change alignment direction for generating image information.

RENEWAL OF BASIC LAWS AND PRINCIPLES FOR POLAR CON-TINUUM THEORIES (Ⅱ)—MICROMORPHIC CONTINUUM THEORY AND COUPLE STRESS THEORY

The purpose is to reestablish the balance laws of momentum, angular momentum and energy and to derive the corresponding local and nonlocal balance equations for micromorphic continuum mechanics and couple stress theory. The desired results for micromorphic continuum mechanics and couple stress theory are naturally obtained via direct transitions and reductions from the coupled conservation law of energy for micropolar continuum theory, respectively. The basic balance laws and equations for micromorphic continuum mechanics and couple stress theory are constituted by combining these results derived here and the traditional conservation laws and equations of mass and microinertia and the entropy inequality. The incomplete degrees of the former related continuum theories are clarified. Finally, some special cases are conveniently derived.

An Efficient Query Rewriting Approach for Web Cached Data Management

With the internet development, querying data on the Web is an attention problem of involving information from distributed, and often dynamically, related Web sources. Basically, some subqueries can be effectively cached from previous queries or materialized views in order to achieve a better query performance based on the notion of rewriting queries. In this paper, we propose a novel query-rewriting model, called Hierarchical Query Tree, for representing Web queries. Hierarchical Query Tree is a labeled tree that is suit able for representing the inherent hierarchy feature of data on the Web. Based on Hierarchical Query Tree, we use case based approach to determine what the query results should be. The definitions of queries and query results are both re presented as labeled trees. Thus, we can use the same model for representing cases and the medium query results can also be dynamically updated by the user queries. We show that our case-based method can be used to answer a new query based on the combination of previous queries, including changes of requirements and various information sources.

The Design and Implementation of a Program Development System Based on Rewriting Method

This paper presents a program development system based on rewriting techniques. An introduction to an earlier version of the system without the verification system can be found in [1]. This paper focuses on the verification subsystem which is designed to prove the correctness of the optimization rules and test equations in programs and specifications, hence to further guarantee the soundness of the program development process. The main technique employed in the verification subsystem is rewriting induction featured with batch proof method and witnessed test sets.

Combining stochastic density functional theory with deep potential molecular dynamics to study warm dense matter

In traditional finite-temperature Kohn–Sham density functional theory(KSDFT),the partial occupation of a large number of high-energy KS eigenstates restricts the use of first-principles molecular dynamics methods at extremely high temperatures.However,stochastic density functional theory(SDFT)can overcome this limitation.Recently,SDFT and the related mixed stochastic–deterministic density functional theory,based on a plane-wave basis set,have been implemented in the first-principles electronic structure software ABACUS[Q.Liu and M.Chen,Phys.Rev.B 106,125132(2022)].In this study,we combine SDFT with the Born–Oppenheimer molecular dynamics method to investigate systems with temperatures ranging from a few tens of eV to 1000 eV.Importantly,we train machine-learning-based interatomic models using the SDFT data and employ these deep potential models to simulate large-scale systems with long trajectories.Subsequently,we compute and analyze the structural properties,dynamic properties,and transport coefficients of warm dense matter.

Timing theory integrated nursing combined behavior change integrated theory of nursing on primiparous influence

BACKGROUND The comprehension and utilization of timing theory and behavior change can offer a more extensive and individualized provision of support and treatment alternatives for primipara.This has the potential to enhance the psychological well-being and overall quality of life for primipara,while also furnishing healthcare providers with efficacious interventions to tackle the psychological and physiological obstacles encountered during the stages of pregnancy and postpartum.AIM To explore the effect of timing theory combined with behavior change on selfefficacy,negative emotions and quality of life in patients with primipara.METHODS A total of 80 primipara cases were selected and admitted to our hospital between August 2020 and May 2022.These cases were divided into two groups,namely the observation group and the control group,with 40 cases in each group.The nursing interventions differed between the two groups,with the control group receiving routine nursing and the observation group receiving integrated nursing based on the timing theory and behavior change.The study aimed to compare the pre-and post-nursing scores of Chinese Perceived Stress Scale(CPSS),Edinburgh Postpartum Depression Scale(EPDS),Self-rating Anxiety Scale(SAS),breast milk knowledge,self-efficacy,and SF-36 quality of life in both groups.RESULTS After nursing,the CPSS,EPDS,and SAS scores of the two groups was significantly lower than that before nursing,and the CPSS,EPDS,and SAS scores of the observation group was significantly lower than that of the control group(P=0.002,P=0.011,and P=0.001 respectively).After nursing,the breastfeeding knowledge mastery,selfefficacy,and SF-36 quality of life scores was significantly higher than that before nursing,and the breastfeeding knowledge mastery(P=0.013),self-efficacy(P=0.008),and SF-36 quality of life(P=0.011)scores of the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group.CONCLUSION The integration of timing theory and behavior change integrated theory has been found to be an effective approach in alleviating negative mood and stress experienced by primipara individuals,while also enhancing their selfefficacy and overall quality of life.This study focuses on the key concepts of timing theory,behavior change,primipara individuals,negative mood,and quality of life.
