Focus on the Language Learner and Multimedia Assisted Language Teaching

当外语教师在试图寻找一种合适的外语教学方法的时候,他们会经常失望的发现现存的教学方法没有一种单独使用效果好并且能够满足所有学习者的要求,放之天下而皆准。因此,第二语言教学将目光从研究教学法中转移到研究学习者的身上来,关注学生的智力、学能、认知风格、学习策略等方面,以便最大限度地帮助学生。笔者从语言学、心理学、二语习得理论及人本主义教学理论等方面探讨了以学习者为中心这一教学原则的理论基础及其集中体现了这一教学思想的多媒体辅助教学。

The emergence of digital storytelling and multimedia technology in improving Greek language teaching and learning： Challenges versus limitations

Greek schools are witnessing widening gaps between traditional definitions and applications of literacy, which include reading, writing and speaking in terms of exercises from school textbooks and contemporary literacy practices like digital storytelling, interactive multimedia use and online communications. Language and literacy teachers of primary education are called upon daily to bridge these contradictions through pedagogical and textual choices they make in classroom teaching. This paper reports an experimental study with children of the fifth grade at public Greek schools to apply modernist literacy approaches involving digital storytelling and online communication in improving language skills. The paper analytically presents the didactic examples of a thematic union within the framework of the Greek curriculum and the alternative assessment for the experimental teaching on digital technologies among mother tongue learners. The findings have implications for teacher＇s and student＇s education and also for the integration of a pedagogical-technological content of curriculum within the continuing debate of being culturally and equally literate in today＇s education.

Application of Multimedia Assisted Instruction （MAI） in Junior High Schools English Classroom Teaching

In a view of the current problems of English teaching in junior high schools, this paper introduces MAI （Multimedia Assisted Instruction） of English teaching and explores the functions of MAI. Through actual using MAI in the teaching of listening and speaking, reading and writing classes in the junior high schools, it is concluded that application of MAI is not only feasible but also effective.

Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistants acting as cultural ambassadors on the campus

Many language instructors in colleges and universities around the world have teaching assistants to help them with the teaching. Since 1968, the Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistant （FLTA） program has aimed to strengthen foreign language instruction at U.S. educational institutions by establishing a native speaker presence. As one of the first group of Fulbright Chinese Language Assistants, the author worked at the College of Wooster in the United States from August, 2005 to May, 2006. At the beginning of the paper, the author gave a brief introduction of Fulbright FLTA program. Then the author described five cultural activities that Fulbright FLTAs could employ in foreign language learners＇ learning process： giving presentations, teaching songs, watching movies, organizing free tea or coffee breaks, and holding free talks. The following section discussed two phenomena that FLTAs should avoid, that is, ethnocentrism and cultural stereotyping. The author pointed out in the conclusion that Fulbright language assistants should make efforts to be qualified cultural ambassadors.

Design of the Intelligent Foreign Language Multimedia Teaching System Based on the "New liberal arts" Paradigm

The main features of the foreign language education in the information age are to realize the modernization, informatization, intellectualization and diversification of the foreign language teaching, and to promote the modernization of the foreign language teaching through the informatization of the foreign language teaching. The new concept of the leapfrogging development in the foreign language teaching should be a hot topic and trend in the study of the foreign language teaching theories and practice in the new era. Under the "New liberal arts" paradigm, students are expected to take part in various activities to promote the transformation of the classroom theoretical knowledge into the specific practical skills and enhance their abilities to solve the practical problems in the real world.

Advantages and Main Problems of Multimedia-Assisted Teaching Method in College English Teaching

As the information age commenced in the late 20th century.English is using rapidly as a universal language all over the world.However,Chinese English teacher faces many troubles in original teaching method.Multimedia-aided teaching method,based on multimedia and network technologies,comes into being.With its rich content and vivid forms,teachers can change the boring learning condition and atmosphere by means of pictures,sounds,images and so on.The advantages and disadvantages of it are analyzed in this paper.And then concluded that only by use it rationally,can the advantages outweigh the disadvantages.

A Discussion of Middle School English Teaching and Learning Based on the Multimedia

Multimedia plays a very important role in English teaching, but teachers always place undue reliance on multimedia or completely ignore the use of multimedia in middle school English teaching. First, this paper discusses the importance of multimedia. Secondly, it presents several helpful methods for middle school English teaching by using multimedia. Finally, it shows how to effectively use these methods in middle school English class. The purpose of this discussion is to facilitate students in learning process in middle school English learning and improve the effect of English language teaching in middle school.

Transfer of University English Teacher Roles in the Web-based Teaching Environment

At present, one of the important tasks of the ongoing college English teaching reform is to reform the traditional teaching mode,establishing the computer-based multimedia English teaching model. Based on the constructivist theory and the second language acquisi-tion theory, teachers who adopt the new teaching model should play multiple roles to maximize the teaching effect, being not only thecourse designer, organizer, but also the guide, helper and facilitator in the process of teaching students to construct knowledge and be en-gaged in classroom activities as well.

The Effect of Integrating Inductive Approach and Deductive Approach With Multimedia Assistance Into Acquisition of Subjunctive Mood

This study applied both inductive approach and deductive approach with multimedia assistance into an English grammar class on the acquisition of subjunctive mood. It aimed to investigate whether this kind of teaching approach, as a general grammar pedagogy, would improve the efficiency of students＇ acquisition of certain grammar points. This study results from comparison and contrast between one same class on the acquisition of subjunctive mood to 70 students in total, employing three different teaching methods： inductive approach with multimedia assistance （method 1）, deductive approach with multimedia assistance （method 2）, and both inductive approach and deductive approach with multimedia assistance （method 3）, based on self-reported reflection on the experiment, observation of students＇ learning process, students＇ pre-test and after-class evaluation test results, and surveys. Two identical experiments were conducted to two groups of students of different levels of language proficiency to increase the generalizability of the results. Findings revealed that the evaluation test score of the grammatical points taught with method 3 is much higher than those taught with the other two methods, and most students felt positive about method 3. Students nevertheless encounter obvious difficulties in inductive approach, indicating certain lack of self-learning skills in Chinese students

Foreign Language Web-Based Learning by Means of Audiovisual Interactive Activities

Online learning has been on an upward trend for many years and is becoming more and more prevalent every day, consistently presenting the less privileged parts of our society with an equal opportunity at education. Unfortunately, though, it seldom takes advantage of the new technologies and capabilities offered by the modern World Wide Web. In this article, we present an interactive online platform that provides users with learning activities for students of English as a foreign language. The platform focuses on using audiovisual multimedia content and a user experience (UX) centered approach to provide learners with an enhanced learning experience that aims at improving their knowledge level while at the same time increasing their engagement and motivation to participate in learning. To achieve this, the platform uses advanced techniques, such as interactive vocabulary and pronunciation assistance, mini-games, embedded media, voice recording, and more. In addition, the platform provides educators with analytics about user engagement and performance. In this study, more than 100 young students participated in a preliminary use of the aforementioned platform and provided feedback concerning their experience. Both the platform’s metrics and the user-provided feedback indicated increased engagement and a preference of the participants for interactive audiovisual multimedia-based learning activities.

高校多媒体语音室的虚拟现实交互模式设计与应用研究

虚拟现实技术已成为现代教育中重要的技术手段,其沉浸感和交互式对促进高校语言类教学改革有重要作用。如何将虚拟现实技术融入多媒体语音室建设,构建多媒体语音室的虚拟现实交互模式和应用场景,成为多媒体语音室智慧化升级改造中的关键问题。通过分析目前高校语言教学模式及原有多媒体语音室存在的问题和虚拟现实技术的优势,提出多情境虚拟现实语音室交互式学习模式的设计方案。采用多情境的虚拟现实语音室学习模式,将会促进语言学习课堂由原有被动的接受式教学向新的沉浸交互式自主学习模式转变。

Evaluation on the Value of Fully Using Multimedia Assisted Teaching Resources in English Teaching

English is a very important subject in education, but simultaneously it is very difficult for students to master in the teaching process. With the coming of the information age, the constant emergence of multimedia resources provides a great assistance for English teaching. In this paper, the evaluation on the value of using multimedia assisted teaching resources in English teaching is introduced.

大语言模型在中医诊断学教学中的应用

中医诊断学作为中医学的重要课程,其复杂的理论体系和高度实践性的特点对传统教学方法提出了挑战。当前教学模式主要依赖于课堂讲授和临床实习,存在学生参与度低、实践资源有限等问题。大语言模型能够显著提升学生的理论知识掌握情况和实践能力,同时增强学习积极性和自主学习能力。通过个性化的学习体验和丰富的虚拟实践资源,学生能够更加深入地理解中医诊断学的复杂理论体系,并在模拟环境中积累临床经验。本研究阐述大语言模型的技术基础和优势,提出利用大语言模型进行教学改革的思路,并通过实际应用案例展示其在个性化辅导、虚拟病例生成和模拟诊断训练中的具体应用,提出课程设计与教学方法多样化、师资培训与技术支持的重要性,强调通过灵活多样的课程设计和互动式教学方法,充分发挥大语言模型的优势,探索大语言模型与虚拟现实(VR)和增强现实(AR)技术的结合,开发智能学习平台,以提供更精准的个性化辅导和反馈。以期为大语言模型在中医诊断学教学中的应用提供借鉴和参考。

移动互联网背景下高职外贸专业英语阅读教学策略研究

为了提高篮球投篮命中率,设计基于多媒体技术的高校篮球投篮动作微课教学辅助系统。构建投篮动作捕捉子系统及其微课教学资源设计与开发模块,通过求取投篮阶段性动作的对应时刻帧,完成篮球投篮动作捕捉,结合由管理数据库、用户登录管理、教师管理、学生管理、班级管理、用户个人管理等部分构成的系统管理模块,完善微课教学辅助系统构架。仿真实验结果表明系统的篮球投篮动作捕捉精度较高。

多媒体辅助情景教学联合Mini-CEX在普通外科临床教学中的应用

目的探讨多媒体辅助情景教学联合迷你临床评估练习(Mini-CEX)在普通外科临床教学中的应用效果,为普通外科医师规范化培训提供新的教学方法和思路。方法选取在新疆医科大学第五附属医院普通外科实习的60名临床医学专业本科生,随机分为试验组和对照组,每组30人。试验组采用多媒体辅助情景教学结合Mini-CEX联合教学模式,对照组采用传统教学模式。教学结束后分别从考核、Mini-CEX评分、教学满意度和教学效果评价等方面比较两组医学生的教学效果。结果所有医学生顺利完成临床实习,教学结束后,试验组学生的理论考试成绩、实践操作考核成绩、Mini-CEX评分均高于对照组,两组间差异具有统计学意义。试验组的教学满意度也显著高于对照组。结论多媒体辅助情景教学结合Mini-CEX联合教学模式在普通外科临床教学中取得了较好的效果,能够有效提升医学生理论成绩、操作能力和教学满意度,适合作为一种新的临床教学模式加以推广。
