Ecological Discourse Analysis Based on the Corpus-A Case Study on the Environmental Discourse of 21st Century

Language learning materials not only provide language input for learners but also subtly disseminate ideology and influence readers’behavior.This study,based on the framework of ecological discourse analysis,quantitatively analyzes and qualitatively describes the ecological significance of environmental texts in the 21st Century.The aim is to provide references for the compilation of environmental discourse in language learning materials,promote the construction of more ecologically beneficial discourse,and facilitate the widespread dissemination of the ecological philosophy of“Diversity and Harmony,Interaction and Co-existence”among young readers.The initial findings of this study are as follows:In the environmental texts of the publication,a large number of relational processes and action processes are used to objectively represent the natural environment;the discourse tends to be ambiguous and beneficial,generally aligning with the ecological philosophy of“Diversity and Harmony,Interaction and Co-existence.”This can guide readers to correctly understand and face environmental issues,which is conducive to the healthy development of natural ecosystems.

Research as a Veritable Tool for Enhancing Students’ Job Creation in the 21st Century University Education

This study explores the role of research as a tool for enhancing students’job creation in the context of 21st-century university education.The survey research design was the approach used for this investigation.The researcher created a questionnaire to collect pertinent data for the study from 200 respondents.The questionnaire was duly validated by 3 experts.The internal reliability of the instrument was examined in this study using Cronbach’s alpha(α).Cronbach’s alpha method is able to determine the correlation between the outcomes of each test item and the test’s total score.Google Forms was used to deliver the survey to the respondents electronically.A statistical package was used to calculate the mean and standard deviation.The study hypotheses were also investigated using inferential statistics(t-test)with 198 degrees of freedom and a 0.05 threshold of significance.To determine whether to accept or reject the null hypothesis,the critical value and estimated t-value are compared.Findings suggest that research-oriented education positively impacts students’ability to create job opportunities in the 21st century.Engaging in research projects fosters critical thinking,creativity,and adaptability among students,enabling them to identify and capitalize on emerging trends and market gaps.Furthermore,the study reveals the significance of university-industry collaborations and mentorship programs in enhancing students’entrepreneurial skills and connecting them with practical resources and networks.The implications of this research are significant for educational policymakers,university administrators,and curriculum developers,as it underscores the importance of incorporating research as an integral component of 21st-century university education.

Effect of social media utilization in 21^st century nursing practices in Nigeria: Analytical review

Background and aim:Social Media is a global tool where information is disseminated and accessed within twinkle of an eye,it reaches the target audience within seconds locally,continentally or cross-continentally.Social Media usage in nursing practices across globe is a burning issue in contemporary 21st century,as its negativity is widely spreading unprofessional code of conducts.Therefore,the study is to examine the effect of social media usage among 21st century nurses in Nigeria.Methodology:This analytical study was carried out using previous studies on related subject matters,and review the outcomes of the subjects.Nurses in Federal Republic of Nigeria were used as the sample via WhatsApp group and Facebook closed group,hence,it was conducted on examining how impactful is the usage of social media among Nigerian nurses.Results:Findings revealed that social media has come to stay in nursing,and the potential should be harnessed and integrated into nursing practices and curriculum,which will translate into professional care.Nurses should be educated on its negative usage as it delineates from professional conduct.There is a need for Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria(NMCN)as matter of urgency upgrade the code of professional conduct to accommodate the current trend of social media usage.Conclusion:It was concluded that Nurses in Nigeria should uphold professional code of practice while using social media as it’s a good source of litigation.It was recommended that nursing training curriculum should reflect current trend of social media and NMCN should review its code of professional practices highlighting the usage of social media.

以风能宏观战略布局、微观精准选址对合理资源等级区划的迫切需求为牵引,本文采用Delphi法,充分考虑资源特征、环境风险、成本效益,对“21世纪海上丝绸之路”(“海上丝路”)及关键海域的风能展开了常规需求、商业开发、应急供电、用电量巨大几种情景下的宏观和微观等级区划。研究结果表明:从“海上丝路”的风能宏观等级区划来看,大部分区域的风能属于较丰富区和丰富区(风能等级期望值大于0.5),索马里近海、马纳尔湾、斯里兰卡东南近海、南海大风区为风能等级的相对大值中心。从斯里兰卡海域的风能微观等级区划来看,相对富集区分布于斯里兰卡和印度半岛之间的海峡、斯里兰卡东南部近海(风能等级期望值在0.7以上);贫乏区为印度半岛东西海岸、斯里兰卡东部近海和西南部近海。

Spatial patterns and driving forces of land use change in China during the early 21st century

Land use and land cover change as the core of coupled human-environment systems has become a potential field of land change science （LCS） in the study of global environmental change. Based on remotely sensed data of land use change with a spatial resolution of 1 km × 1 km on national scale among every 5 years, this paper designed a new dynamic regionalization according to the comprehensive characteristics of land use change including regional differentiation, physical, economic, and macro-policy factors as well. Spatial pattern of land use change and its driving forces were investigated in China in the early 21 st century. To sum up, land use change pattern of this period was characterized by rapid changes in the whole country. Over the agricultural zones, e.g., Huang-Huai-Hai Plain, the southeast coastal areas and Sichuan Basin, a great proportion of fine arable land were engrossed owing to considerable expansion of the built-up and residential areas, resulting in decrease of paddy land area in southern China. The development of oasis agriculture in Northwest China and the reclamation in Northeast China led to a slight increase in arable land area in northern China. Due to the ＂Grain for Green＂ policy, forest area was significantly increased in the middle and western developing regions, where the vegetation coverage was substantially enlarged, likewise. This paper argued the main driving forces as the implementation of the strategy on land use and regional development, such as policies of ＂Western Development＂, ＂Revitalization of Northeast＂, coupled with rapidly economic development during this period.

Construction of the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road:Present Situation,Opportunities,Problems and Solutions

The 21 st Century Maritime Silk Road is an important part of China's new landscape of all-round opening-up,responding to the joint demands of both China and many countries in Southeast Asia,South Asia and Africa.This paper examines countries and regions along the 21 st Century Maritime Silk Road and makes an in-depth study of their typical economic conditions,opportunities for cooperation with China,as well as related existing problems.There are opportunities in five areas for China to further cooperate with relevant countries and regions; industrial investment,infrastructure investment,resource development,overseas economic & trade zones and maritime economic development.There are also three outstanding problems; poor coordination among executive agents,insufficient financial support and lack of a sound and complete talent team.This paper offers several suggestions concerning the construction of the 21 st Century Maritime Silk Road to better fit the national conditions and joint demands of China and the countries and regions involved.

Annual variation rate of global sea－level rise and the prediction for the 21st century

An analytics method of predicting the annual variation rate (AVR) of global sea-level (GSL) is developed.Through the calculation by using the mean sea-level data collected from the tidal gauge stations over the world, a GSL rise of 0. 15～0. 16 cm/a is obtained. The predicted values of AVR of GSL for the 21st century are presented. The authors' results have been compared to those reported by other scientists at home and abroad. The method proposedhere is more convenient and precise.

Philosophy and Sustenance of Human Dignityin the 21st Century
