By investigation of characteristics of distortion of the gear tooth surface along the circle direction, the deviation is derived from distortion, and the definition of deviation with the geometrical invariability is proposed. Among the reasons of traffic accidents, careless driving accounts for the largest part. So in order to avoid the careless driving, a system which can measure the posture of a driver and warns driver to drive carefully in the case of looking aside is necessary. Although the image measurement method is used broadly, there is a problem on which measurement accuracy is influenced by environment light, makeup of the driver, etc. in the general method based on the two-dimensional image. Therefore, in this study, we propose an image measurement method to obtain the head posture of driver. First we use three-dimensional measurement method which based on the infrared pattern projection to get 3-D information of head, and then we calculate the angle for faces. In this paper, we explain the composition method of an experiment system, and the results of head posture measurement experiment.展开更多

The instrument for three-dimensional (3D) surface topography measurement was composed of a high precision displacement sensor based on the Michelson interference principle, a 3D platform based on vertical scanning, a measuring and control circuit, and an industrial control computer. It was a closed loop control system, which changed the traditional moving stylus scanning style into a moving platform scanning style. When the workpiece was measured, the lever of the displacement sensor returned to the balanced position in every sample interval according to the zero offset of the displacement sensor. The non-linear error caused by the rotation of the lever was, therefore, very small even if the measuring range was wide. The instrument can measure the roughness and the profile size of a curved surface.展开更多

The governing equations are discretized with the unstructured finite volume method in order to provide conservation properties of mass and momentum, and flexibility with practical application. It is shown that it is first-order accurate on nonuniform plane two-dimensional (2-D) grids and second-order accurate on uniform plane grids. A third-order approximation of the vertical velocity at the top-layer is applied. In such a way, free surface zero stress boundary condition is satisfied maturely, and very few vertical layers are needed to give an accurate solution even for complex discontinuous flow and short wave simulation. The model is applied to four examples to simulate strong 3-D free surface flows and sediment transport where non-hydrostatic pressures have a considerable effect on the velocity field. The part-level representation is implemented, which enables a more compact shape description of 3-D objects. The proposed classification method consists of two key processing stages: the improved constrained search on an interpretation tree and the following shape similarity measure computation. By the classification method, both whole match and partial match with shape similarity ranks are achieved; especially, focus match can be accomplished, where different key parts may be labeled and all the matched models containing corresponding key parts may be obtained. Although the precision of digital image correlation (DIC) has been thoroughly studied theoretically and numerically, verification experiments have seldom been performed, especially fbr complex surfaces with a small field of view (FOV). In this work, the shape of a 1-yuan coin was measured using 3D-DIC; the shape was complex due to the presence of many fine details, and the FOV was relatively small because the coin diameter was only 25 mm. During the experiment, a novel strategy for speckle production was developed: white paint was simply sprayed onto the surface. Black paint was not used; instead, taking advantage of the reflective nature of the coin surface, polarized light and a Polaroid filter were introduced, and the polarization direction was carefully adjusted, ensuring that the spray pattern was extremely thin and that high-quality speckle images with significant contrast were captured. The three-dimensional coin shape was also successfully determined for comparison using a stylus profiler. The results demonstrate that 3D-DIC provides high precision in shape measurement even for complex surfaces with small FOV. The precision of 3D-DIC can reach 1/7000 of the field of view, corresponding to about 6 ~tm in this experiment.展开更多

Previous studies cannot realize 3D measurement of microseeping hydrocarbons from reservoirs to the surface, which made it difficult to understand the features and pathways of deep hydrocarbon microseepages. Understanding the processes of hydrocarbon microseepages will contribute to the acceptance and effectiveness of surface geochemistry. Based on a simplified geological model of hydrocarbon microseepages, including hydrocarbon reservoir, direct caprock, overlying strata and Quaternary sediments, this work established a 3D experimental system to simulate the mechanisms and processes of deep hydrocarbon microseepes extending to the surface. The dispersive halos of microseeping hydrocarbons in the subsurface were adequately described by using this 3D experimental system. Results indicate that different migration patterns of hydrocarbons above the point gas source within the simulated caprock and overlying strata can be reflected by the ratio of i-butane to n-butane (i-C4/n-C4), which follow diffusion and infiltration (buoyancy) mechanisms. This is not the case for vertical measurement lines far from the point gas source. A vertical gas flow in the form of a plume was found during hydrocarbon microseepage. For sampling methods, the high-density grid sampling is favorable for delineating prospecting targets. Hydrocarbon infiltration or buoyancy flow occurs in the zones of infiltration clusters, coupling with a diffusion mechanism at the top of the water table and forming surface geochemical anomalies. These results are significant in understanding hydrocarbon microseepage and interpreting SGE data.展开更多

Increasing depths of grooves or pits increases the Df values. At the same time, increasing densities of the grooves also causes the Df values to increase. The data can be used to discuss relationship between Df and the friction coefficient as well as the wear rate.展开更多

An automatic collection and processing in the field could expedite the process of tree inventory survey and data management. The advent of handheld laser equipments such as the MDL LaserAce 300, should allow rapid acquisition of tree attributes. The instrument measures distances, differences in height and horizontal bearing automatically. This paper describes a study about the automated process of retrieving tree positions, their respective attributes and the creation of 3-D model (three-dimensional model). A software developed in-house known as ASSIST (automated spatial survey information system) was utilized together with the MI)I, LaserAce 300, being the hardware component of the automated system. The capability of MDL LaserAce 9300 in extracting information regarding tree inventory attributes and the 3-D model encompassing the study area was investigated. The results were checked against the data sets acquired by a total station traversing and tacheometric survey respectively. The accuracy of the horizontal and vertical position of points gathered was critically assessed. The accuracy of the MDL LaserAce 300 was found to be less than ±2 m for both planimetric (horizontal) and vertical (height) in the construction of the 3-D model. The study demonstrates the effectiveness of a field-based automation system as a viable option to support forest application requirement.展开更多

The model results are applied as input to environmental impact assessment of the proposed dredging, particularly those associated with suspended sediments and sedimentation. Model validation and performance are still not resolved because of the difficulty of site measurements and the understanding of the parameters used in the model. This paper presents a 3-D dredging plume model based on the MIKE3 software package to investigate parameters which affect the model performances. As a result of lack of site data for the public domain uses, the model scenarios are designed artificially for sensitive runs to identify the key parameters affecting plume behaviours. The factors include dredging spill rates using different dredging methods, equipment and sediment settling velocities. The influence of wave and wind effects combined with tidal forces on the sediment re-suspended rates and the advection/dispersion scales are also assessed.展开更多

The accuracy of the horizontal and vertical position of points gathered was critically assessed. The accuracy of the MDL LaserAce 300 was found to be less than ±2 m for both planimetric (horizontal) and vertical (height) in the construction of the 3-D model. The study demonstrates the effectiveness of a field-based automation system as a viable option to support forest application requirement.
文摘Dredging plume dispersion studies, use dredging plume models to predict the fate of sediment plumes resulting from dredging activities and dredge spoil disposal. The influence of wave and wind effects combined with tidal forces on the sediment re-suspended rates and the advection/dispersion scales are also assessed.
