We compared six 3D methods, OptoGait, and Myotest Run for the determination of contact time for runners with different foot strike patterns. Twenty male participants were divided into two groups: the heel group, who attack the ground with the heel (n = 12), and the toe group, who attack the ground with the middle/front of the foot (n = 8). They performed trials at speeds of 8 km/h then 16 km/h. To detect foot strike, the use of peak velocity of 3D markers located on the heel, the fifth metatarsal, and the great toe provided the best results for both groups. To detect the toe off, the minimum vertical position of a 3D marker placed in line with the great toe gave the most satisfactory results for both groups. In this way, the values of contact time measured with the 3D methods are consistent. Values measured with OptoGait appear consistent too, while those of the Myotest Run underestimate the contact time for both speeds. 3D analysis provides interesting opportunities for calculation of contact time for both rearfoot and forefoot runners, using specific peak velocities to determine foot strike and marker displacement to determine toe off. 展开更多

Additive manufacturing(AM),also known as 3D-printing(3DP)technology,is an advanced manufacturing technology that has developed rapidly in the past 40 years.However,the ceramic material printing is still challenging because of the issue of cracking.Indirect 3D printing has been designed and drawn attention because of its high manufacturing speed and low cost.Indirect 3D printing separates the one-step forming process of direct 3D printing into binding and material sintering,avoiding the internal stress caused by rapid cooling,making it possible to realize the highquality ceramic component with complex shape.This paper presents the research progress of leading indirect 3D printing technologies,including binder jetting(BJ),stereolithography(SLA),and fused deposition modeling(FDM).At present,the additive manufacturing of ceramic materials is mainly achieved through indirect 3D printing technology,and these materials include silicon nitride,hydroxyapatite functional ceramics,silicon carbide structural ceramics. 展开更多

A developed stereo particle image velocimetry(stereo-PIV) system was proposed to measure three-dimensional(3D) soil deformation around a laterally loaded pile in sand.The stereo-PIV technique extended 2D measurement to 3D based on a binocular vision model,where two cameras with a well geometrical setting were utilized to image the same object simultaneously.This system utilized two open software packages and some simple programs in MATLAB,which can easily be adjusted to meet user needs at a low cost.The failure planes form an angle with the horizontal line,which are measured at 27°-29°,approximately three-fourths of the frictional angle of soil.The edge of the strain wedge formed in front of the pile is an arc,which is slightly different from the straight line reported in the literature.The active and passive influence zones are about twice and six times of the diameter of the pile,respectively.The test demonstrates the good performance and feasibility of this stereo-PIV system for more advanced geotechnical testing. 展开更多

As the location of the wheel center is the key to accurately measuring the wheelbase, the wheelbase difference and the wheel static radius, a high-precision wheel center detection method based on stereo vision is proposed. First, according to the prior information, the contour of the wheel hub is extracted and fitted as an ellipse curve, and the ellipse fitting equation can be obtained. Then, a new un-tangent constraint is adopted to improve the ellipse matching precision. Finally, the 3D coordinates of the wheel center can be reconstructed by the spatial circle projection algorithm with low time complexity and high measurement accuracy. Simulation experiments verify that compared with the ellipse center reconstruction algorithm and the planar constraint optimization algorithm, the proposed method can acquire the 3D coordinates of the spatial circle more exactly. Furthermore, the measurements of the wheelbase, the wheelbase difference and the wheel static radius for three types of vehicles demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method for wheel center detection. 展开更多
