To solve the problems in restoring sedimentary facies and predicting reservoirs in loose gas-bearing sediment, based on seismic sedimentologic analysis of the first 9-component S-wave 3D seismic dataset of China,a fourth-order isochronous stratigraphic framework was set up and then sedimentary facies and reservoirs in the Pleistocene Qigequan Formation in Taidong area of Qaidam Basin were studied by seismic geomorphology and seismic lithology. The study method and thought are as following.Firstly, techniques of phase rotation, frequency decomposition and fusion, and stratal slicing were applied to the 9-component S-wave seismic data to restore sedimentary facies of major marker beds based on sedimentary models reflected by satellite images. Then, techniques of seismic attribute extraction, principal component analysis, and random fitting were applied to calculate the reservoir thickness and physical parameters of a key sandbody, and the results are satisfactory and confirmed by blind testing wells.Study results reveal that the dominant sedimentary facies in the Qigequan Formation within the study area are delta front and shallow lake. The RGB fused slices indicate that there are two cycles with three sets of underwater distributary channel systems in one period.Among them, sandstones in the distributary channels of middle-low Qigequan Formation are thick and broad with superior physical properties, which are favorable reservoirs. The reservoir permeability is also affected by diagenesis.Distributary channel sandstone reservoirs extend further to the west of Sebei-1 gas field, which provides a basis to expand exploration to the western peripheral area. 展开更多

Building model data organization is often programmed to solve a specific problem, resulting in the inability to organize indoor and outdoor 3D scenes in an integrated manner. In this paper, existing building spatial data models are studied, and the characteristics of building information modeling standards(IFC),city geographic modeling language(CityGML),indoor modeling language(IndoorGML),and other models are compared and analyzed.CityGML and IndoorGML models face challenges in satisfying diverse application scenarios and requirements due to limitations in their expression capabilities. It is proposed to combine the semantic information of the model objects to effectively partition and organize the indoor and outdoor spatial 3D model data and to construct the indoor and outdoor data organization mechanism of“chunk-layer-subobject-entrances-area-detail object.”This method is verified by proposing a 3D data organization method for indoor and outdoor space and constructing a 3D visualization system based on it. 展开更多

Tikhonov regularization(TR) method has played a very important role in the gravity data and magnetic data process. In this paper, the Tikhonov regularization method with respect to the inversion of gravity data is discussed. and the extrapolated TR method(EXTR) is introduced to improve the fitting error. Furthermore, the effect of the parameters in the EXTR method on the fitting error, number of iterations, and inversion results are discussed in details. The computation results using a synthetic model with the same and different densities indicated that. compared with the TR method, the EXTR method not only achieves the a priori fitting error level set by the interpreter but also increases the fitting precision, although it increases the computation time and number of iterations. And the EXTR inversion results are more compact than the TR inversion results, which are more divergent. The range of the inversion data is closer to the default range of the model parameters, and the model features and default model density distribution agree well. 展开更多

Due to the complex nature of multi-source geological data, it is difficult to rebuild every geological structure through a single 3D modeling method. The multi-source data interpretation method put forward in this analysis is based on a database-driven pattern and focuses on the discrete and irregular features of geological data. The geological data from a variety of sources covering a range of accuracy, resolution, quantity and quality are classified and integrated according to their reliability and consistency for 3D modeling. The new interpolation-approximation fitting construction algorithm of geological surfaces with the non-uniform rational B-spline(NURBS) technique is then presented. The NURBS technique can retain the balance among the requirements for accuracy, surface continuity and data storage of geological structures. Finally, four alternative 3D modeling approaches are demonstrated with reference to some examples, which are selected according to the data quantity and accuracy specification. The proposed approaches offer flexible modeling patterns for different practical engineering demands. 展开更多

Although big data are widely used in various fields, its application is still rare in the study of mining subsidence prediction(MSP)caused by underground mining.Traditional research in MSP has the problem of oversimplifying geological mining conditions, ignoring the fluctuation of rock layers with space. In the context of geospatial big data,a data-intensive FLAC3D(Fast Lagrangian Analysis of a Continua in 3 Dimensions)model is proposed in this paper based on borehole logs.In the modeling process,we developed a method to handle geospatial big data and were able to make full use of borehole logs. The effectiveness of the proposed method was verified by comparing the results of the traditional method, proposed method, and field observation. The findings show that the proposed method has obvious advantages over the traditional prediction results. The relative error of the maximum surface subsidence predicted by the proposed method decreased by 93.7%and the standard deviation of the prediction results(which was 70 points)decreased by 39.4%,on average. The data-intensive modeling method is of great significance for improving the accuracy of mining subsidence predictions. 展开更多

This paper focuses on the effective utilization of data augmentation techniques for 3Dlidar point clouds to enhance the performance of neural network models. These point clouds, which represent spatial information through a collection of 3D coordinates, have found wide-ranging applications.Data augmentation has emerged as a potent solution to the challenges posed by limited labeled data and the need to enhance model generalization capabilities.Much of the existing research is devoted to crafting novel data augmentation methods specifically for 3D lidar point clouds. However, there has been a lack of focus on making the most of the numerous existing augmentation techniques.Addressing this deficiency, this research investigates the possibility of combining two fundamental data augmentation strategies. The paper introduces PolarMix andMix3D,two commonly employed augmentation techniques, and presents a new approach, named RandomFusion.Instead of using a fixed or predetermined combination of augmentation methods,RandomFusion randomly chooses one method from a pool of options for each instance or sample. This innovative data augmentation technique randomly augments each point in the point cloud with either PolarMix or Mix3D.The crux of this strategy is the random choice between PolarMix and Mix3Dfor the augmentation of each point within the point cloud data set.The results of the experiments conducted validate the efficacy of the RandomFusion strategy in enhancing the performance of neural network models for 3D lidar point cloud semantic segmentation tasks. This is achieved without compromising computational efficiency.By examining the potential of merging different augmentation techniques, the research contributes significantly to a more comprehensive understanding of how to utilize existing augmentation methods for 3D lidar point clouds.RandomFusion data augmentation technique offers a simple yet effective method to leverage the diversity of augmentation techniques and boost the robustness of models. The insights gained from this research can pave the way for future work aimed at developing more advanced and efficient data augmentation strategies for 3D lidar point cloud analysis. 展开更多

For the first time, this article introduces a LiDAR Point Clouds Dataset of Ships composed of both collected and simulated data to address the scarcity of LiDAR data in maritime applications. The collected data are acquired using specialized maritime LiDAR sensors in both inland waterways and wide-open ocean environments. The simulated data is generated by placing a ship in the LiDAR coordinate system and scanning it with a redeveloped Blensor that emulates the operation of a LiDAR sensor equipped with various laser beams. Furthermore,we also render point clouds for foggy and rainy weather conditions. To describe a realistic shipping environment, a dynamic tail wave is modeled by iterating the wave elevation of each point in a time series. Finally, networks serving small objects are migrated to ship applications by feeding our dataset. The positive effect of simulated data is described in object detection experiments, and the negative impact of tail waves as noise is verified in single-object tracking experiments. Swarm robot systems are an important application of autonomous unmanned surface vehicles on water surfaces. For monitoring natural environments and conducting security activities within a certain range using a surface vehicle, the swarm robot system is more efficient than the operation of a single object as the former can reduce cost and save time.It is necessary to detect adjacent surface obstacles robustly to operate a cluster of unmanned surface vehicles. For this purpose,a LiDAR(light detection and ranging)sensor is used as it can simultaneously obtain 3D information for all directions, relatively robustly and accurately, irrespective of the surrounding environmental conditions.Although the GPS(global-positioning-system)error range exists, obtaining measurements of the surface-vessel position can still ensure stability during platoon maneuvering. In this study,a three-layer convolutional neural network is applied to classify types of surface vehicles. The aim of this approach is to redefine the sparse 3D point cloud data as 2D image data with a connotative meaning and subsequently utilize this transformed data for object classification purposes.Hence,we have proposed a descriptor that converts the 3D point cloud data into 2D image data.To use this descriptor effectively,it is necessary to perform a clustering operation that separates the point clouds for each object. We developed voxel-based clustering for the point cloud clustering.Furthermore, using the descriptor,3D point cloud data can be converted into a 2D feature image, and the converted 2D image is provided as an input value to the network. We intend to verify the validity of the proposed 3D point cloud feature descriptor by using experimental data in the simulator.Furthermore,we explore the feasibility of real-time object classification within this framework. 展开更多

A new gravity survey was carried out in the northern part of the onshore Kribi- Campo sub-basin in Cameroon. The data were incorporated to the existing ones and then analyzed and modeled in order to elucidate the subsurface structure of the area. The area is characterized in its north-western part by considerably high positive anomalies indicative of the presence of a dense intrusive body. We find, 1) from the analysis of the gravity residual anomaly map, the high positive anomalies observed are the signature of a shallow dense structure;2) from the multi-scale analysis of the maxima of the horizontal gradient, the structure is confined between depths of 0.5 km and 5 km;3) from the quantitative interpretation of residual anomalies by spectral analysis, the depth to the upper surface of the intrusive body is not uniform, the average depth of the bottom is h1 = 3.6 km and the depths to particular sections of the roof of the intrusion are h2 = 1.6 km and h3 = 0.5 km;4) and the 3D modeling gives results that are suggestive of the presence of contacts between rocks of different densities at different depths and a dense intrusive igneous body in the upper crust of the Kribi zone. From the 3D model the dense intrusive igneous block is surrounded by sedimentary formations to the south-west and metamorphic formations to the north-east. Both formations have a density of about 2.74 g/cm3. The near surface portions of this igneous block lie at a depth range of 0.5 km to 1.5 km while its lower surface has a depth range of 3.6 km to 5.2 km. The shape of the edges and the bottom of the intrusive body are suggestive of the fact that it forms part of a broader structure underlying the Kribi-Campo sub-basin with a great influence on the sedimentary cover. 展开更多

Refined 3D modeling of mine slopes is pivotal for precise prediction of geological hazards.Aiming at the inadequacy of existing single modeling methods in comprehensively representing the overall and localized characteristics of mining slopes, this study introduces a new method that fuses model data from Unmanned aerial vehicles(UAV)tilt photogrammetry and 3D laser scanning through a data alignment algorithm based on control points.First, the mini batch K-Medoids algorithm is utilized to cluster the point cloud data from ground 3D laser scanning. Then, the elbow rule is applied to determine the optimal cluster number(K0),and the feature points are extracted.Next, the nearest neighbor point algorithm is employed to match the feature points obtained from UAV tilt photogrammetry, and the internal point coordinates are adjusted through the distanceweighted average to construct a 3D model. Finally,by integrating an engineering case study, the K0 value is determined to be 8,with a matching accuracy between the two model datasets ranging from 0.0669 to 1.0373 mm.Therefore, compared with the modeling method utilizing K-medoids clustering algorithm, the new modeling method significantly enhances the computational efficiency, the accuracy of selecting the optimal number of feature points in 3D laser scanning, and the precision of the 3D model derived from UAV tilt photogrammetry. This method provides a research foundation for constructing mine slope model. 展开更多

Long runout landslides involve a massive amount of energy and can be extremely hazardous owing to their long movement distance, high mobility and strong destructive power.Numerical methods have been widely used to predict the landslide runout but a fundamental problem remained is how to determine the reliable numerical parameters. This study proposes a framework to predict the runout of potential landslides through multi-source data collaboration and numerical analysis of historical landslide events.Specifically, for the historical landslide cases, the landslide-induced seismic signal, geophysical surveys, and possible in-situ drone/phone videos(multi-source data collaboration)can validate the numerical results in terms of landslide dynamics and deposit features and help calibrate the numerical(rheological)parameters.Subsequently, the calibrated numerical parameters can be used to numerically predict the runout of potential landslides in the region with a similar geological setting to the recorded events.Application of the runout prediction approach to the 2020 Jiashanying landslide in Guizhou,China gives reasonable results in comparison to the field observations. The numerical parameters are determined from the multi-source data collaboration analysis of a historical case in the region(2019 Shuicheng landslide). The proposed framework for landslide runout prediction can be of great utility for landslide risk assessment and disaster reduction in mountainous regions worldwide. 展开更多

Background A task assigned to space exploration satellites involves detecting the physical environment within a certain space. However, space detection data are complex and abstract. These data are not conducive for researchers'visual perceptions of the evolution and interaction of events in the space environment. Methods A time-series dynamic data sampling method for large-scale space was proposed for sample detection data in space and time, and the corresponding relationships between data location features and other attribute features were established.A tone-mapping method based on statistical histogram equalization was proposed and applied to the final attribute feature data. The visualization process is optimized for rendering by merging materials, reducing the number of patches, and performing other operations. Results The results of sampling, feature extraction, and uniform visualization of the detection data of complex types, long duration spans, and uneven spatial distributions were obtained. The real-time visualization of large-scale spatial structures using augmented reality devices, particularly low-performance devices, was also investigated. Conclusions The proposed visualization system can reconstruct the three-dimensional structure of a large-scale space, express the structure and changes in the spatial environment using augmented reality, and assist in intuitively discovering spatial environmental events and evolutionary rules. 展开更多

This paper presents a new approach for attenuating coherent noise in 3D seismic data. An adaptive beamforming with generalized sidelobe canceller (GSC) design methodology is utilized here as a general form of linearly constrained adaptive beamforming structure. It consists of a fixed beamformer, and a signal-blocking matrix in front of an unconstrained adaptive beamformer.Considerationf of the complexity of the geometry for 3D seismic survey, the 3D beamforming with GSC technique is developed with two key points: (1) sorting along azimuth sections to simplify the relationship between traveltime and offset from 3D to 2D, and (2) dynamic binning scheme to avoid the possible poor folding in some azimuth sections. Both simulation result and real data example show that the newly developed 3D beamforming with GSC yields more credible results at a relative low cost, sufficient stability and good resolution. 展开更多

Marching Cubes (MC) algorithm in the surface rendering has more excellent applicability in 3D reconstruction for the slice images;it may shorten the time to find and calculate the isosurface from raw volume data, reflect the shape structure more accurately. In this paper, we discuss a method to reconstruct the 3D weather cloud image by using the proposed Cube Weighting Interpolation (CWI) and MC algorithm. Firstly, we detail the steps of CWI, apply it to project the raw radar data into the cubes and obtain the equally spaced cloud slice images, then employ MC algorithm to draw the isosurface. Some experiments show that our method has a good effect and simple operation, which may provide an intuitive and effective reference for realizing the 3D surface reconstruction and meteorological image stereo visualization. 展开更多

A 3D motion and geometric information system of single-antenna radar is proposed, which can be supported by spotlight synthetic aperture radar(SAR) system and inverse SAR(ISAR) system involving relative 3D motion of the rigid target. In this system, applying the geometry invariance of the rigid target, the unknown 3D shape and motion of the radar target can be reconstructed from the 1D range data of some scatterers extracted from the high-resolution range image.Compared with the current 1D-to-3D algorithm,in the proposed algorithm, the requirement of the 1D range data is expanded to incomplete formation involving large angular motion of the target and hence, the quantity of the scatterers and the abundance of 3D motion are enriched.Furthermore, with the three selected affine coordinates fixed, the multi-solution problem of the reconstruction is solved and the technique of nonlinear optimization can be successfully utilized in the system. Two simulations are implemented which verify the higher robustness of the system and the better performance of the 3D reconstruction for the radar target with unknown relative motion. 展开更多

Cancer is one of the most dangerous diseaseswith highmortality. One of the principal treatments is radiotherapy by using radiation beams to destroy cancer cells and this workflow requires a lot of experience and skill from doctors and technicians. In our study,we focused on the 3D dose prediction problem in radiotherapy by applying the deeplearning approach to computed tomography(CT)images of cancer patients.Medical image data has more complex characteristics than normal image data, and this research aims to explore the effectiveness of data preprocessing and augmentation in the context of the 3D dose prediction problem. We proposed four strategies to clarify our hypothesis in different aspects of applying data preprocessing and augmentation. In strategies,we trained our custom convolutional neural network model which has a structure inspired by the U-net,and residual blocks were also applied to the architecture. The output of the network is added with a rectified linear unit(Re-Lu)function for each pixel to ensure there are no negative values, which are absurd with radiation doses. Our experiments were conducted on the dataset of the Open Knowledge-Based Planning Challenge which was collected from head and neck cancer patients treatedwith radiation therapy. The results of four strategies showthat our hypothesis is rational by evaluating metrics in terms of the Dose-score and the Dose-volume histogram score(DVH-score).In the best training cases, the Dose-score is 3.08 and the DVH-score is 1.78.In addition,we also conducted a comparison with the results of another study in the same context of using the loss function. 展开更多

It is logical to perform inversion to utilize the information in the newly acquired data. The inversions were carried out by using cokriging, which is a geostatistical method of estimation that minimizes the error variance by applying cross-correlation between several variables. In this study the estimated densities are derived by using boreholes gravity and known densities along the borehole. This method does not need iterative process and computes efficiently. The selection of examples demonstrates that this method has the ability to include physical property from borehole measurements in the inversion. The synthetic examples demonstrate the density variation along a borehole can be well determined without depth constraints in the inversion. The resolution of the recovered model can be further improved by including the densities along the borehole for inversion. However, this capability decreases dramatically with the increasing of distance between the anomalous body and the borehole. 展开更多

Understanding the behavior of urban air pollution is important en route for sustainable urban development (SUD). Malaysia is on its mission to be a developed country by year 2020 comprehends dealing with air pollution is one of the indicators headed towards it. At present monitoring and managing air pollution in urban areas encompasses sophisticated air quality modeling and data acquisition. However, rapid developments in major cities cause difficulties in acquiring the city geometries. The existing method in acquiring city geometries data via ground or space measurement inspection such as field survey, photogrammetry, laser scanning, remote sensing or using architectural plans appears not to be practical because of its cost and efforts. Moreover, air monitoring stations deployed are intended for regional to global scale model whereby it is not accurate for urban areas with typical resolution of less than 2 km. Furthermore in urban areas, the pollutant dispersion movements are trapped between buildings initiating it to move vertically causing visualization complications which imply the limitations of existing visualization scheme that is based on two-dimensional (2D) framework. Therefore this paper aims is to perform groundwork assessment and discuss on the current scenario in Malaysia in the aspect of current policies towards SUD, air quality monitoring stations, scale model and detail discussion on air pollution dispersion model used called the Operational Street Pollution Model (OSPM). This research proposed the implementation of three-dimensional (3D) spatial city model as a new physical data input for OSPM. The five Level of Details (LOD) of 3D spatial city model shows the scale applicability for the dispersion model implementtation. Subsequently 3D spatial city model data commonly available on the web, by having a unified data model shows the advantages in easy data acquisition, 3D visualization of air pollution dispersion and improves visual analysis of air quality monitoring in urban areas. 展开更多
