The structure of 4×4 AWG is designed and the result of stimulated test is also given. Analysis shows that the 4×4 AWG is characterized by a wide dynamic range, low crosstalk, better spectrum properties, and a compact structure.展开更多

Disruption in the continuity of both the basal cell layer and basement membrane is essential for the progression of high-grade prostatic intraepithelial neoplasia (HGPIN) to invasive adenocarcinoma in human prostate. The molecules involved in the conversion to an invasive phenotype are the subject of intense scrutiny. We have previously reported that matrix metalloproteinase-26 (MMP-26) promotes the invasion of human prostate cancer cells via the cleavage of basement membrane proteins and by activating the zymogen form of MMP-9. Furthermore, we have found that tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinases-4 (TIMP-4) is the most potent endogenous inhibitor of MMP-26. Here we demonstrate higher (p〈0.0001) MMP-26 and TIMP-4 expression in HGPIN and cancer, compared to non-neoplastic acini. Their expression levels are highest in HGPIN, but decline in invasive cancer (p〈0.001 for each) in the same tissues. Immunohistochemical staining of serial prostate cancer tissue sections suggests colocalization of MMP-26 and TIMP-4. The present study indicates that MMP-26 and TIMP-4 may play an integral role during the conversion of HGPIN to invasive cancer and may also serve as markers for early prostate cancer diagnosis.展开更多

Then the PCR-products were cloned to T vector and sequenced. The genomic nucleotide sequences were analyzed by the programs CLUSTAL W and DNASTAR. It was found that the full genomic length of HASTVgz01 strain was 6721 bp and the ORFs were 6558 bp. The 5' and 3'UTR were 82 and 81 nucleotides. The genome included 3 open reading frames (ORFs) : ORFla, ORFlb and ORF2. The 5'-terminal ORFla started at nueleotide 83 and extended to nucleotide 2845. ORFlb (nt 2785 to nt 4332) overlaped ORFla by 61 nueleotides. The 3'-terminal ORF2 began at nucleotide 4325 and terminated at nucleotide 6640. ORF2 had 2316 nucleotides. Compared with other astrovirus sequences in GenBank, the homology of the amino acid sequence of ORF2 of HASTVgz01 strain with that of serotype 4 was 93%. Homology with other serotypes ranged from 61% to 70%. The complete nucleotide sequence of astrovirus HASTVgz01 strain isolated from Guangzhou in China was 6721 bp in length, GenBank accession NO. DQ344027. Comparing the ORF2 of astrovirus HASTVgz01 with the known sequences of types 1-8 the highest homology was serotype 4 (93%). Comparative sequence analysis of the HASTVgz01 ORF2 with the reported human astrovirus sequences revealed that the isolated astrovirus belongs to genotype (serotype) 4.展开更多

Co-administration of Chios mastic gum (CMG), which inhibits H. pylor/NAP, with an H. pylori eradication regimen might add clinical benefits against H. pylori-related gastric pathologies, but pos- sibly not CMG as main therapy. Although H. pylori NAP and other H. pylori-related cytotoxins [i.e., vaculating cytotoxin (VacA)] appear to play a major role in gener- ating and maintaining the H. pylori-associated gastric inflammatory response and H. pylor/NAP is a promising vaccine candidate against H. pylori infection (H. pylori-1), concerns regarding its potential drawbacks, particularly neurogenic ones, due to possible cross- mimicry, should be considered. Possible cross-mimicry between H. p, vlor/ NAP and/or bacterial aquaporin (AQP) and neural tissues may be associated with the anti-AQP-4 antibody-related neural damage in multiple sclerosis (MS)/neuromyelitis optica patients. Moreover, the sequence homology found between H. pylori VacA and human Na+/K+-ATPase A subunit suggests that antibodies to VacA involve ion channels in abaxonal Schwann cell plasmalemma resulting in demyelination in some patients. A series of factors have been im- plicated in inducing blood-brain barrier (BBB) disrup- tion, including inflammatory mediators (e.g., cytokines and chemokines induced by H. pylor/-I) and oxidative stress. BBB disruption permits access of AQP4-specific antibodies and T lymphocytes to the central nervous system, thereby playing a major role in multiple sclero- sis pathogenesis. Relative studies show a strong asso- ciation between H. pylori-I and MS. H. pylor/-I induces humoral and cellular immune responses that, owing to the sharing of homologous epitopes (molecular mim- icry), cross-react with components of nerves, thereby contributing and perpetuating neural tissue damage. Finally, H. pylori NAP also plays a possible pathoge- netic role in both gastric and colon oncogenesis.展开更多

METHODS: The IL-4 proximal promoter segments were amplified and selected by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and single strand conformation polymorphism (SSCP) with genomic DNA from ten healthy children and forty patients with dominantly allergic familial histories as templates. The selected PCR segments were cloned into recombinant plasmids pIL-4-Jx2. The PCR inserts were sequenced by dideoxy chain termination method. RESULTS: Seven aberrant bands were found in SSCP analysis from forty asthmatic patients. The sequencing results showed that four variant sites were found within or adjacent to the known IL-4 regulatory element. A C to A transversion located at -229 position was just within the positive regulatory element-I (PRE-I) in one patient. A C to T transition adjacent to the negative regulatory element-II (NRE-II) and an extra G adjacent to TATA box were found in two patients. A five base nucleotide deletion was found near signal transducers and activators of transcription-6 responsive element (STAT-6 RE) in one patient. CONCLUSION: There were polymorphisms within the IL-4 proximal promoter of allergic asthmatic patients and these polymorphisms might result in aberrant expression of IL-4 gene and asthma.展开更多

The results show that the photonie band gap (PBG) mainly depends on the periodic arrays of dielectric composites. The orientation of director and the symmetry of the director configuration have important influence on the location and amplitude of defect modes. The location and amplitude of defect modes can be controlled conveniently by changing the orientation of director. The symmetry of the director configuration can help us understand the defect modes spectra.展开更多
