The title compound, a 1:1 molecular adduct of 3-nitrophthalic acid and 3-methyl- 4-nitropyridine N-oxide (PPOM), has been synthesized and characterized by X-ray single-crystal structure analysis. It crystallizes in triclinic, space group PI with α = 7.6076(15), b = 7.8180(16), c = 14.546(3)A, α= 93.90(3), β = 97.21(3), γ= 114.43(3)°, C14H1N3O9, Mr = 365.26, Z = 2, V = 774.6(3) A^3, Dc = 1.566 g/m^3,μ(MoKa) = 0.134 mm^-1, F(000) = 376, R = 0.0538 and wR = 0. 1460 for 885 observed reflections (1 〉 2σ(I)). The protons of the carbonylic acids in the molecule are not transferred and the O-H…O and C-H…O hydrogen bonds form zigzag chains in the molecule. 展开更多

Synthesis, Characterization of Cellulose Grafted N-Oxide Reagent and Its Application in Oxidation of Alkyl/Aryl Halides

Oxidation of aliphatic and aromatic halides by N-oxide functionalities supported on 4- vinyl pyridine, (4-VP), grafted cellulose is reported in the present manuscript. Synthesis of graft copolymer of cellulose and poly 4-vinyl pyridine, poly(4-VP), has been carried out using ceric ions as redox initiator. Post-grafting treatment of CellO-g-poly (4-VP) with 30% H2O2 in acetic acid gives Cellulose-g-poly (4-VP) N-oxide, the polymeric supported oxidizing reagent. The polymeric support, CellO-g-poly (4-VP) N-oxide, has been used for oxidation reactions of different alkyl / aryl halide such as 1-bromo-3-methyl butane, 2-bromo propane,1-bromo heptane and benzyl chloride. The polymeric reagent was characterized by IR and thermo-gravimetric analysis. The oxidized products were characterized by FTIR and H1NMR spectral methods. The reagent was reused for the oxidation of a fresh alkyl / aryl halides and it was observed that the polymeric reagent oxidizes the compounds successfully but with little lower product yield. 展开更多

New solid complexes of europium, uranyl and zinc ions with N-oxides of 4-chloro-2,6-dimethylpyridine, quinoline and 4-meth- oxyquinaldinic acid in presence different anions were obtained and characterized by elemental and TG analyses, IR and luminescence spectra. The compounds are crystalline, hydrated or anhydrous salts with colours typical of metal ions. Thermal studies showed that in hydrated salts lattice or coordination water molecules are present. A role of different anions in the formation of various types of the complexes is presented. 展开更多
