On Characteristics and Cultures of the Hakka's Enclosed Houses in South Jiangxi Province

General situation and distribution of round houses of the Hakka in south Jiangxi were introduced, such architectural styles as enclosed house with a square yard (kouzi wei, in the shape of 口), enclosed house with a yard of three transverse and one longitudinal constructions (guozi wei, in the shape of 国), and enclosed house with a round house in its yard (tao wei) were taken to analyze features of the Hakka's enclosed houses. It was highlighted that the Hakka's enclosed houses in south Jiangxi has diversified architectural styles and outstanding defensive and living functions. Construction art and religious culture shown by the enclosed houses were interpreted, and the branch of Han people with unique dialects, cultures, folk customs and emotional attitudes was proposed as a miniature of the culture in south Jiangxi. Moreover, it was stressed that more attention of the public and more efforts for the protection should be given to the Hakka's cultures in south Jiangxi, carriers of the locals' history over the past thousands of years.

District Partisan Homogeneity, Communications, and the Electoral Motive: An Analysis of the Facebook Posts of Members of the U.S. House of Representatives

The research examines the way in which members of the U.S. House of Representative represent themselves on the social network site Facebook. Each member’s activity is observed on seven different occasions and the frequency and substantive character of posts made during the second half of 2013 are established. The focus is on position-taking posts versus posts which mention the district the member serves in. Our expectation is that members from electorally safe districts will be more likely to advertise their policy positions while members from marginal districts will be more inclined to advertise their district connections. We control for minority party status, gender, and ideological extremism among other concerns and learn electoral safety is a good predictor of both “position-taking” and “district mentions”. Consistent with an electoral motive, we also find members from the minority party less likely to take positions on the issues of the day and more likely to mention the district they serve in.

马尔康M_(S)6.0震群地震烈度分布与房屋震害特征分析

通过对2022年6月10日马尔康M_(S)6.0地震震群灾区实地调查,确定了此次地震的烈度分布,灾区最高烈度为Ⅷ度,灾区面积5719 km^(2)。灾区内调查的77个房屋建筑点主要为藏式石木结构、砖混结构、钢筋混凝土框架结构。对各烈度区内不同结构类型房屋的震害现象进行了整理,分析了不同结构类型房屋的抗震能力与震害原因。结果显示:①藏式石木结构房屋占比最大且破坏最严重,该结构房屋建造材料、工艺较差,在高烈度区房屋震害主要表现为倒塌或局部垮塌现象;②砖混结构房屋抗震性能较好,在高烈度区房屋震害主要表现为“X”型剪切或贯穿性裂缝,破坏严重的房屋多是无圈梁和构造柱的未设防砖混结构;③钢筋混凝土框架结构房屋抗震性能较好,在此次地震中主体结构完好,但在高烈度区房屋震害主要表现为填充墙明显裂缝和装饰层脱落。

人口、房屋数据空间化及在2021年拜城M_(S)5.4地震中的应用

地震灾情快速评估依赖于震区准确的人口、房屋等设施的数量和空间分布,是震后地震应急救援、地震烈度评估的核心支撑。以阿克苏地区的居民点、POI数据为基础,采用核密度估算结合道路分布和房屋占地面积的方法,构建了人口密度权重模型,获得了研究区1 km×1 km的人口、房屋格网数据。结果显示,各乡镇实际人口数量与模拟人口数量线性拟合相关系数为0.909,线性拟合相对较好,表明人口空间化结果达到了较高精度。为了更好地验证上述方法和数据,以2021年拜城M_(S)5.4地震为例,叠加对比分析震区人口、房屋格网数据与地震评估区之间的定量关系。按照地震评估区进行了人口、房屋面积的模拟,该数据与实际现场数据之间误差较小,能够满足震后地震灾情快速评估的需求,可为灾害预评估及地震现场灾害快速评估等工作提供可靠依据和支撑,同时空间化的方法也为后续该方向的研究提出了一个新的思路。
