Linguistic landscape and its impacts on place-making in mountain destination:A case of Mogan Mountain Town of Huzhou City,China

The place and placeness are believed to be a crucial perspective for comprehending the transformative dynamics of tourist destinations in the context of globalization and the rapid development of the tourism industry.As the material carrier of language,linguistic landscape is an intermediary for people to endow emotions and personalities into the place,becoming an effective path for exploring the place-making in a certain area.Mogan Mountain is a famous national tourist resort,which is located in Mogan Mountain Town,Deqing County,Huzhou City,China.This is a good case area for studying the relationship between linguistic landscape and placemaking in tourist destinations.There are two theories that form the theoretical foundation of the study,namely the place and the geosemiotics.Firstly,the results showed the overall style of the linguistic landscape.Multilingual labelling(52.7%),official signs(55.3%),and standardized Chinese characters predominantly shaped the linguistic landscape,with English and other languages being complementary.Secondly,from the perspective of three dimensions of the geosemiotics framework,such as inscription,language preference,and placement position,we conduct a comprehensive semiotic analysis of the linguistic landscape,which encompasses diverse facets such as fonts,materials,shifts in state,text vectors,and symmetrical arrangements.Finally,we explore the influence of linguistic landscapes on the place-making of Mogan Mountain through the dimensions of location,locale,and sense of place.The information on linguistic landscapes indicates the geographical location.These linguistic landscapes play an important role in constructing the language order,nostalgic atmosphere,exotic atmosphere,and elegant and tasteful lifestyle of the public space in Mogan Mountain.Readers of linguistic landscapes,including tourists and residents,generate and identify with the unique sense of place in Mogan Mountain.These linguistic landscapes construct the destination placeness of Mogan Mountain that combines both foreign and nostalgic styles,and the integration of Chinese and Western cultures.It will help promote the image positioning of tourism destinations and have practical guiding significance for the tourism planning,landscape-making,language management,and other aspects of tourism destinations.

Analysis of the Appealing Structure in Hemingway’s“A Clean,Well-lighted Place”

In the novel“A Clean,Well-lighted Place”,Hemingway tells the story of two waiters in a Spanish caféjust before closing time,talking about an old man who drank heavily in the caféevery night and lived a wealthy life but still wants to commit suicide.Using the iceberg principle,Hemingway purposely omits the plot,characterization of the story,and uses symbolism and repetition to describe people’s different attitudes facing the spiritual emptiness after the war,breaking the readers’expectations,and inspiring them to explore the meaning of individual life.Therefore,based on Wolfgang Iser and Zhu Liyuan’s appealing structure theory,this paper will analyze the appealing structure in“A Clean,Well-lighted Place”at three levels:meaning construction,rhetorical techniques,and thoughts and themes.It is hoped that readers can find a new way to interpret the short story,better understand the author’s creative ideas and dig deeper into the connotation of the work.

Healthcare at Home. Spatial Solutions and Integrated Enabling Technologies for Aging in Place

Within the past decade,advances in medical technology,the desires and complex care needs of an ageing population,and innovative care delivery models have initiated a shift from providing care in hospitals to outpatient settings.And more recently,the acceleration and amplification of these factors is pushing healthcare options even further from the traditional inpatient and outpatient settings towards acute and subacute care in the home.This has led the medical community to look toward providing more tools and methods of care that patients can access safely right from home and the designers to think as the homes of the future will be flexible to support both an array of devices to provide a healthcare delivery and the humanization and personalization of the domestic space.In light of the changing housing demand aimed at a predominantly elderly population,and awareness of the strong impact that aging of the population has on care,on the costs of health services,on the lives of the elderly and on the maintenance of their conditions of independence,and the most recent investments of the National Plan for Resilience and Recovery to relocate care from hospitals to local structures and even to homes themselves,the paper investigates the issue of the adaptability of the home to the needs of elderly people and to the different care conditions to encourage aging in place.

Place Spirit,Visual Expression and Spatial Experience of Architectural Heritage-Take Pingyao Ancient City as an Example

Based on the research background of Pingyao ancient city and its ancient residential buildings, combined with architecture and space research, folk culture and sociology research, visual design and other related theoretical research as theoretical basis, this paper studies the unique place space experience and place spirit expression of Pingyao ancient city through theoretical analysis. This paper analyzes from the perspective of space theory, from the regional culture, the relationship between people and places, extending to the shaping of visual environment, architectural decoration elements and means, etc., and explains it with the help of relevant theoretical basis. At different specific levels, the expression of humanization, rationality, applicability and humanistic value of ancient city space is introduced from the spirit of place, and it is used as the basic theoretical basis and theoretical guidance of related theoretical research, which makes the research process tend to be possible, realistic and operable.

地方感何以可能--兼评段义孚《Space and Place：The Perspectives of Experience》一书

Data-Path Placement Based on Regularity Extraction and Implementation

An algorithm named DPP is addressed.In it,a new model based on the concept of irregularity degree is founded to evaluate the regularity of cells.It generates the structure regularity of cells by exploiting the signal flow of circuit.Then,it converts the bit slice structure to parallel constraints to enable Q place algorithm.The design flow and the main algorithms are introduced.Finally,the satisfied experimental result of the tool compared with the Cadence placement tool SE is discussed.

Landscape Pattern and Its Spirit of Place under the Influence of Zen Doctrine——Analysis and Evaluation of Landscape Environment of Wenshu Temple in Chengdu City of China

The paper had illustrated current status of Chinese temple gardens and background of Wenshu Temple in Chengdu City,analyzed that landscape spatial pattern of Wenshu Temple was characterized by introverted enclosed quadrangle courtyard including religious activity zone,life activities zone and garden rest zone.It also discussed the influences of artistic conception of Zen on spirit of place of landscape space in the perspectives of Zen architectural factors,introverted national culture,religious color of architectural space,and cultural landscape.It had proposed that there existed imperfections in later management of greening and landscaping in Wenshu Temple,and some problems such as enclosed space and isolated space from surrounding historical and cultural carrier.It pointed out that landscape perseverance was a long process and it should not restrict to protection of internal environment of carrier space but should enhance restoration of external part and relevant parts to display cultural and economic value of historical and cultural carrier.

目的论认为翻译是一种建立在文本基础上的有目的的跨文化交际活动。而本文所选取的AClean,Well-Lighted Place的两个中译本,各具翻译特色,分别突出了其翻译的目的性。本文拟以德国功能派翻译理论的支柱理论——目的论为理论依据,通过一些具有代表性的例证,并运用对比分析的方法对两个中译本进行比较,来分析其翻译目的及策略,从而得出目的论能够对实际的翻译过程起到指导作用,并可以在以后的翻译实践中利用该理论以取得更好的翻译效果。

基于教学实践,从教学内容、教学组织和双向评价这三个关键维度出发,分别在先进理论和现代设计方法、大规模在线教育和工程实践及教师评价“学”的过程和学生评价“教”的过程等重要方向建立连接,使课程体系从有限容量的线性place占位扩展到大容量现代化教学的多方向space占位。建设结果表明,多方向的space课程体系既能解决学生学习过程中的主动性、积极性问题,又能助推课程自身迭代,促使“机械原理”始终处于一流课程的领先地位。

Characteristics Studies on Kazak Place Names in Ili Kazak Autonomous Prefecture

This paper focuses on characteristics studies of Kazak place names in Ili Kazak Autonomous Prefecture based on Univer-sal Principles of Tendencies proposed by the Polish linguist Witold Manczak.Through careful and thorough study,this paper foundthat because of different traditional lifestyles and different political strategies through different historical periods,this paper provedthat the Kazaks as the nomads were proficient in observing the environmental conditions,and made full use of them to name places.

Characteristics Studies on Uyghur Place Names in Ili Kazak Autonomous Prefecture

Because of its peculiar language environment with multi ethnicities and the One Belt and One Road initiative,the studies of place names in Ili Kazak Autonomous Prefecture attract many linguists’interests.This paper focuses on characteristics studies of Uyghur place names in Ili Kazak Autonomous Prefecture based on Universal Principles of Tendencies proposed by the Polish linguist Witold Manczak.Through careful and thorough study,this paper found that because of different traditional lifestyles and different political strategies through different historical periods,as urban people,the Uyghur place names highlighted the Uyghur people’s great contributions to artificial constructions.

The Interweaving of Southern Tradition and Postmodern Temper—Time and Place in Richard Ford's Sportswriter

Debate on whether American Southern Literature still exists in the postmodern era poses a hot topic in contemporary literary world. Among the many southern-born writers, Richard Ford publicly denied to be labeled as a southern writer. The author of this paper holds a close study of how time and place, two major traditional southern themes are treated in Richard Ford's Sportswriter, and draws the conclusion that despite the southern staples embedded in the novel, Richard Ford, as a representative of postmodern writers, works for a national or even universal writing by successfully fusing southern tradition and postmodern temper in a crossroad of history.

基于POI数据和Place2vec模型的城市功能区识别研究

功能区识别对于揭示城市的物理和社会特征至关重要。目前,结合大数据和自然语言处理进行城市功能分区和识别是研究的热点。该文以广州市白云区为例,基于道路网络数据将研究区域划分为503个单元,结合POI数据和Place2vec模型对城市功能区进行识别:1)根据兴趣点的语义信息和地理信息构建训练数据集;2)利用Skip-Gram模型提取POI类型的高维特征向量,通过加权平均法得到各研究单元的特征向量,进而基于K-Means算法对研究单元进行聚类分析;3)利用POI频数密度、百度热力图等指标和方法进行功能区识别和标注,并将识别结果与高德地图进行对比分析。结果表明,该方法能够有效识别出城市功能区,对于低成本、快速有效地识别和理解一个城市的空间结构和功能配置以及城市功能区规划和地理空间分异研究具有参考意义。

基于CiteSpace可视化分析葡萄酒产地溯源研究现状

基于Wed of Science(WOS)和中国知网(CNKI)中1990—2023年数据库,采用文献计量学方法对有关酿酒葡萄及葡萄酒产地溯源的相关文献进行可视化分析。结果显示,研究葡萄酒产地溯源领域的国家主要有意大利225篇、西班牙209篇、法国148篇,国际上French National Research Institute for Agriculture,Food,and the Environment(INRAE)是目前葡萄酒溯源领域内的核心单位。国内机构的发文量均较少,且机构间合作较少。研究热点主要聚焦于“葡萄酒”、“模式识别”、“同位素”、“溯源”等关键词,目前葡萄酒通过矿物元素、品种、电子舌、指纹图谱、同位素、理化指标等更为丰富的指标进行产地鉴别。

基于ARM Cortex-A8平台的Out-of-place FFT算法优化

随着信号处理与多媒体技术的深入发展应用,运算功耗日益成为一个重要的因素。这样,对于算法性能也提出了更高的要求,而FFT算法则是音视频编解码以及信号处理中的一个重要组成部分。主要研究基于ARM Cortex-A8平台上的非原址(Out-of-place)FFT算法的性能优化。利用ARM Cortex-A8的NEON多媒体处理运算引擎提供的并行运算机制,采用非原址运算方法,减少比特翻转的重排序内存访问和搬移操作,同时运用相同蝶形单元有共同旋转因子,共同运算操作的特性,进行并行计算,大幅度减少运算循环数量,改善运算效率,大大提高了FFT算法的性能指标,减少片上功耗。
