A fast moving hemoglobin variant with a mobility similar to that of HbJ, being between HbA and Hb Bart’s, was detected with cellulose acetate eleetrophoresis from a blood donor in Beijing Friendship Hospital. Structural analysis demonstrated that its a16 Lysine is substituted by Asparagine, and that the variant is not previously reported in the literature. It was thus named Hb Beijing, according to the district where it was first found, and is expressed as 展开更多
