Towards an Indigenous Social Inclusion Paradigm:Igbo Apprenticeship System,Poverty Alleviation and Wealth Creation in South-East Nigeria

This research looked at how the Igbo trade apprenticeship programme has helped lower poverty rates in that region of Nigeria.Five hypotheses were generated to test the potential existence of a causal connection between the independent and dependent variables.Using a survey methodology,a structured questionnaire was used to collect data,which was then evaluated using chi-square tests.The research found that the Igbo trade apprenticeship system contributed to lessening poverty in Nigeria’s southeast.According to the results,the method was successful in developing rich Igbo entrepreneurs and businesses,who in turn eradicated hunger,poverty,disease,and unemployment in Nigeria’s South East.The study concluded that the Nigerian government might better protect its citizens from exploitation within the Igbo trade apprenticeship system if it passed legislation to regulate,maintain,and prevent such abuse.

The Vocational Integration of Students-Apprentices in the Context of a Pandemic Crisis:Feedback from the University CFA in Corsica

The COVID-19 pandemic has generated major economic impacts in the vast majority of countries,including falling GDP and global trade,massive job losses,deficits and increased public debt.If quasi-generalized interventionist economic policies have made it possible to cushion the paralysis of the productive devices,the short-term global outlook remains very uncertain.In this gloomy context,what will be the situation on the labour market,and in particular the vocational integration of students?Corsica presents the example of a small island territory in search of a regional development scheme based on the economy of knowledge and competence.In this major structural perspective,the University Apprenticeship Training Centre(CFA UNIV)in the Corsican region has been striving,for a decade,to contribute to the enhancement of studentsapprentices vocational integration from the University of Corsica.Within the scope of its activities,are the monitoring and evaluation of the students-apprentices’professional integration from the University of Corsica.Since 2011,the carrying out the annual surveys on studentsapprentices’future from the University of Corsica has demonstrated the capacity of the sandwich course training in Higher Education simultaneously to boost the employability of skilled human capital and the growth of local business structuring.This contribution will aim to synthesize ten years of CFA UNIV experience and will endeavour to analyse the localized consequences of a global pandemic crisis on the nature of the vocational integration studentapprentices from the University of Corsica in a small territory island.

Scientific literature on welding apprentices and preventive medicine: An integrative literature review

Welding apprentices invest in their professional and technological education. The welding work, and before that, the welding apprenticeship, exposes the apprentices to several risk factors, such as a physical, chemical and physiological. Exposure to these factors can trigger various health disorders and accidents. Among some of the health disorders that may be triggered by welding activity are skin, lung and stomach cancer, coronary heart disease, noise-induced hearing loss and work-related musculoskeletal disorders. This paper is an integrative review of how studies are developing with welding apprentices. Of 638 articles, ten met the search criteria. The publications cover genetic, respiratory and neuropsychological health disorders and improved welding techniques. It is considered that the identification of a low number of publications on welding apprentices constitutes a need for knowledge construction in the areas of occupational and public health.

The International Mobility of Students Apprentices at the Heart of Building a Skills Economy: the Example of the Corsican Territory

At a time of exacerbated globalization,education,and more generally training,is a key factor for our society,at the heart of territories challenged to renew themselves in the face of the emergence around the globe of new centers of economic and demographic gravity,with their own models.Training,and its link with working life,is a real challenge to face,in the near future,the technological,economic,political and environmental revolutions that we are already facing.Beyond what is called sandwich training or continuing vocational training in Higher Education,the current challenge is indeed around lifelong learning,old concept but whose forms always call for an actualization in modernity.At the heart of a small island territory like Corsica,this challenge is all the more crucial to take up as it foreshadows its attractiveness in a context of glocalisation[8]now durably anchored.In an ever-changing global environment,with moving landmarks,increasingly complex personal and professional lives,and where everything that seemed well compartmentalized yesterday faces increasing porosity,the purpose of this contribution is to explain that the international mobility of students apprentices,at the heart of the construction of a skills economy,is a major strategic issue for the development and structuring of a small territory such as Corsica.

An improved master-apprentice evolutionary algorithm for minimum independent dominating set problem

The minimum independent dominance set(MIDS)problem is an important version of the dominating set with some other applications.In this work,we present an improved master-apprentice evolutionary algorithm for solving the MIDS problem based on a path-breaking strategy called MAE-PB.The proposed MAE-PB algorithm combines a construction function for the initial solution generation and candidate solution restarting.It is a multiple neighborhood-based local search algorithm that improves the quality of the solution using a path-breaking strategy for solution recombination based on master and apprentice solutions and a perturbation strategy for disturbing the solution when the algorithm cannot improve the solution quality within a certain number of steps.We show the competitiveness of the MAE-PB algorithm by presenting the computational results on classical benchmarks from the literature and a suite of massive graphs from real-world applications.The results show that the MAE-PB algorithm achieves high performance.In particular,for the classical benchmarks,the MAE-PB algorithm obtains the best-known results for seven instances,whereas for several massive graphs,it improves the best-known results for 62 instances.We investigate the proposed key ingredients to determine their impact on the performance of the proposed algorithm.

A Study on the Task Analysis and Performance Evaluation of Carved Lacquer Craft Inheritors in Novice Stage

The carved lacquer craft,a gem of traditional Chinese crafts,boasts a history of over 2,000 years and features craftsmanship of a superior order.This study attempts to investigate the typical tasks and learning result evaluation of carved lacquer apprentices at the novice stage by the method of qualitative research with 11 carved lacquer craft inheritors of a studio of a carved lacquer master.It is discovered that the design of carved lacquer draft sketches,the design of carved lacquer patterns,and the making and use of carved lacquer tools are typical tasks of novice apprentices,while the modeling and aesthetics of works,carving skills,and the level of interaction with the carved lacquer community are important criteria for evaluating the development of the skills of novice apprentices.

Professor Jia Chunsheng is one of the sixth of old traditional Chinese medicine experts,and often instructs students in ordinary clinics to attach importance to learning and clinical practices of classic works.Now Professor Jia Chunsheng selects a poet-Song to Elucidate Mysteries in the Guidelines of Acupuncture Classic by Dou Hanqing in the Jin and Yuan Dynasties,and requires the students to read carefully,investigate deeply,and apply at times;Moreover,Professor Jia Chunsheng discusses the"important factors to achieve good clinical therapeutic effects by acupuncture"contained in the Song to Elucidate Mysteries,in many aspects of understanding acupoint characteristics,defining clearly acupoint compatibility,selecting appropriate needling manipulation,how to determine needling depth,how to determine needling direction,how to determine needle retention time,and how to select acupuncture&moxibustion method,etc.Now they are discussed as follows,to discover and spread Dou's acupuncture technique and to increase clinical therapeutic effects.

Health Related Lifestyle Behaviors among Students at a Vocational Education Center in Turkey

Background: This study assessed health promoting lifestyle behaviors (HPLP) among apprentices trained in the Kayseri Turkey Vocational Education Center. Methods: This descriptive study was performed in 2012 in a province of Turkey. The study group included a cohort of 332 students attending the Vocational Education Center. All data were collected by using a 54-item (6-item related with socio-demographic and 48 item related with HPLP Scale) questionnaire. Data were evaluated by independent t test, One-Way Anova and Multiple logistic regression analyses. Results: In the study group, 88.0% were male and 12.0% were female. The mean age of participants was 17.1 ± 1.5 years. The mean HPLP scale score was 111.2 ± 22.0. The mean sub-scale scores were as follows: self-actualization 34.6 ± 7.5, interpersonal relations 18.6 ± 4.3, exercise 9.4 ± 3.0, nutrition 13.9 ± 3.5, stress management 16.2 ± 4.0, and health responsibility 18.6 ± 5.7. Age groups, regular payment and job satisfaction were significant variables for sub-scales of HPLP. In the regression analysis, job satisfaction had a significant impact on HPLP sub-scale scores. Conclusions: Healthy lifestyle behaviors were moderate level among students. Physical activity and health responsibility scores were the lowest scores. “Health Protection and Development” should be included as a standard component of vocational education.
