Effectiveness of sensory integration therapy in children,focusing on Korean children:A systematic review and meta-analysis

BACKGROUND Sensory integration intervention is highly related to the child's effective interaction with the environment and the child's development.Currently,various sensory integration interventions are being applied,but research methodological problems are arising due to unsystematic protocols.This study aims to present the optimal intervention protocol by presenting scientific standards for sensory integration intervention through meta-analysis.AIM To prove the effectiveness of sensory integration therapy,examine the latest trend of sensory integration studies in Korea,and provide clinical evidence for sensory integration therapies.METHODS The database of Korean search engines,including RISS,KISS,and DBpia,was used to search for related literature published from 2001 to October 2020.The keywords,“Children”,“Sensory integration”,“Integrated sensory”,“Sensorymotor”,and“Sensory stimulation”were used in this search.Then,a meta-analysis was conducted on 24 selected studiesRISS,KISS,and DBpia,was used to search for related literature published from 2001 to October 2020.The keywords,“Children”,“Sensory integration”,“Integrated sensory”,“Sensorymotor”,and“Sensory stimulation”were used in this search.Then,a meta-analysis was conducted on 24 selected studies.RESULTS Sensory integration intervention has been proven effective in children with cerebral palsy,autism spectrum disorder,attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder,developmental disorder,and intellectual disability in relation to the diagnosis of children.Regarding sensory integration therapies,1:1 individual treatment with a therapist or a therapy session lasting for 40 min was most effective.In terms of dependent variables,sensory integration therapy effectively promoted social skills,adaptive behavior,sensory processing,and gross motor and fine motor skills.CONCLUSION The results of this study may be used as therapeutic evidence for sensory integration intervention in the clinical field of occupational therapy for children,and can help to present standards for sensory integration intervention protocols.

Research on Cultural Consumption and Urban Integration of Floating Population

This paper examined the relationship between cultural consumption and the floating population’s integration into host cities based on data from China’s Seventh National Population Census and the 2018 China Migrants Dynamic Survey(CMDS).The findings indicate that improving the floating population’s consumption level and quality,especially the quality of development-oriented cultural consumption,can significantly improve the level of their integration.Moreover,development-oriented cultural consumption has a positive effect on the floating population’s integration and social participation,while entertainment-oriented cultural consumption facilitates their integration mainly by improving their sense of well-being.These findings could guide policymakers in developing targeted cultural consumption policies,implementing specific regional industry adjustments,and expanding domestic consumption demand.

Integrating Leadership Diversity:A Social Worker’s Role during COVID-19

This article explores the impact of social work leadership integration and diversity and its response during the COVID-19 pandemic and its daily application.Social workers used various modalities to ensure that immediate priority was given to those individuals who were needed in various agencies and schools.Social workers provided added value and were essential to providing vital support through leadership skills in the development and operation during the COVID-19 pandemic.The social workers and leaders demonstrated the ability to intervene during the pandemic crisis through the infusion of a variety of leadership practices and integration.The profession itself makes social workers innate leaders.In the article,attention is given to the work that social workers embraced during the COVID-19 pandemic,to demonstrate that front-line workers are real experts.Social workers as leaders are guided by the code of ethics which employs a leadership style.

Overview of Researches on Social Capital,Human Capital and Social Integration of New Generation Migrant Workers

With urbanization and socio-economic development,new generation migrant workers play an increasingly important role in urban construction. However,for a long time,their social integration situation in inflow places is not ideal. Academic circle has done a lot of researches,but no effective strategy is so far put forward. Through analysis of domestic and foreign researches,it is found that social capital and human capital have an important influence on social integration of new generation migrant workers. This paper takes this as starting point,combines characteristics of new generation migrant workers,and overviews theories and empirical researches of domestic and foreign famous scholars,to explore the relationship between social capital and human capital and social integration of new generation migrant workers.

Social and Economic Considerations for Creating Sustainable Climate Change Haven Communities

As Climate Change Haven Communities are constructed across the Northern Hemisphere, it will be necessary to attract two types of migrants to populate them. The first group consists of professionals and companies in eco-sustainable businesses, such as law firms, insurance companies, investment firms, banking, technological innovation, mass media, medical research and pharmaceutical research. The second group will consist of persons engaged in organic/eco-sustainable agriculture whose crops and animal husbandry practices can be transferred successfully to Climate Change Haven regions. The present research focuses on the social and economic variables that must be taken into account to insure that each new Climate Change Haven Community becomes successfully integrated with the local population and forms a cohesive, harmonious social structure. Examples are given from the United States, France, Spain, Portugal and Italy.

An Empirical Study on the Social Integration of Young Migrant Workers: A Case Study of Nanjing City

Based on the empirical survey of 184 young migrant workers in Nanjing City,this paper makes an in-depth analysis of issues concerning the social integration of young migrant workers from economic integration,cultural integration and psychological integration. The survey results show that the overall level of social integration of young migrant workers is low; the dualistic household registration management system of urban and rural areas is the root cause,the lack of human capital,cultural capital and social capital is the underlying causes,and urban residents' discrimination and exclusion is the external cause; to speed up the social integration of young migrant workers,the key is based on the actual needs of youth migrant workers to take practical measures to gradually integrate them into the city.

Social integration: How is it related to self-rated health?

Social integration has well-established health benefits among older adults in observational studies. However, interventions designed to increase social integration have not improved health suggesting important knowledge gaps on how social integration influences health outcomes. This study developed a new measure of social integration, daily social contact, capturing the interpersonal nature of social integration and mobility of individuals, and providing a direct assessment of individuals’ real-time access to companionship and social support. The data used is the 2006-2007 American Time Use Survey (ATUS), which surveyed 25,191 individuals aged 15 years and older (n = 4378 aged 65 years and older). Generalized ordinal logistic regression analyses revealed positive, but non-parallel relationships between daily social contacts and the ordinal categories of self-rated health among older adults. This study may be used to identify populations that experience social exclusion, such that future research can determine more precisely how to intervene to improve health outcomes.

The Road to the Integration of International Migrants： The Case of the Work Integration Social Enterprises

This paper reports some first results obtained from a study conducted on work integration social enterprises （WISEs） in the framework of the social and solidarity economy （SSE） and the integration of international migrants. WISEs, as hybrid transit companies, go beyond a pure economic rationale, enabling labor and social inclusion for disadvantaged groups, international migrants included, through an insertion process in a real job performance environment. Therefore, WISEs should be understood as valuable mechanisms for achieving optimal levels of personal empowerment and social and labor integration in their active use and enhancement of these employees＇ capacities and competences. All of these aspects of WISEs have an impact on social justice in helping construct a more inclusive growth and society and foster the integration of international migrants.

Influencing Factors of Long-Term Residence Intention of Highly Educated Inter-Provincial and Intra-Provincial Floating Population From the Perspective of Social Integration:Take Guangdong Province for Example

Floating population plays an important role in the development of cities,regions,and countries.The economic growth path with Guangdong characteristics is inseparable from the support of highly educated groups.Studying the long-term residence intention of the highly educated floating population is helpful for the city to attract and retain talents.From the perspective of social integration,using CMDS 2017 data and taking Guangdong Province for example,this paper studies the influencing factors of long-term residence intention through SPSS logistic regression,taking intra-provincial and inter-provincial floating population with a bachelor’s degree or above as sample.The main conclusions are:(1)Marital and childbearing status is the primitive influencing factor of long-term residence intention among intra-provincial and inter-provincial floating population.Samples with high income,under social insurance system,being female and having non-agricultural hukou,are tend to prefer long-term residence.Samples who connect with the locals and participate in social public welfare are more likely to stay.(2)Personal age and city livability have a significant positive impact on the long-term residence intention of the inter-provincial highly educated floating population,but agricultural hukou and self-employed laborer status will weaken the long-term residence intention of this group.(3)Participation in townsmen/alumni association has a positive effect on the long-term residence intention of the intra-provincial highly educated floating population,and connection with outlanders also promotes the long-term residence intention of this group.(4)The long-term residence intention of inter-provincial highly educated floating population is usually based on reality,therefore they pay more attention to the development,changes,and livability of the destination city.However,the long-term residence intention of intra-provincial highly educated floating population is usually based on perception,so they pay more attention to whether they like the city.Compared with intra-provincial flows,inter-provincial flows have higher economic and emotional migration costs,more institutional barriers,and more life adaptation problems.Therefore,the government should introduce targeted measures to promote social integration and improve long-term residence intention.

As early as in year 2000 China＇s migrant population reached 140 million, more than 10% of the total population. Since 2000 the migrant poptilation in Zhejiang Province, east China, has kept growing by 20% annually, the second fastest in the country for seven consecutive years.

Security integrated framework for semantic web based on social intelligence

An integrated security framework for a semantic web is proposed based on the social intelligence of an individual＇s avoiding harm and preserving transaction logic-integrity. The framework extends the semantic web model and controls the dynamic security of semantic web services, such as trust, logic and reasoning. It includes four layers, that is, a trust entrance layer, a social intelligence layer, a transaction layer, and a TCP/IP security protocols layer. The trust entrance layer deals with trustable features from users. Social intelligence layer is responsible for logical questions for a semantic web. The transaction layer carries out transaction reasoning. And the TCP/IP security protocols layer ensures security communication. These layers can cooperate to build closed-security-ring with different security grades. The integrated security framework provides an integrated security method for semantic web flow so that it is universal for various semantic web technologies.

Economic Development and Social Integration of Migrants in China

Migrants often face challenges in social integration.Using a nationally representative sample of migrant workers and employing the epidemiological approach,this paper examines the determinants of social integration.It finds that,conditional on a set of individual features,the migrants from less-developed provinces have greater difficulty in integrating into local communities.These results still demonstrate robustness across alternative variables,samples,and various specifications.Mechanism analysis shows that educational and employment factors account for over 40 percent of the variance in social integration levels,suggesting their significant influence.Additionally,the analysis suggests that native bias against migrants,along with misunderstandings between them,may account for part of the remaining variation in social integration levels.Importantly,the ability to speak local dialects has been identified as a crucial factor that can significantly improve migrants'subjective experience of integrating into a new city.By identifying one specific cause of social integration,this paper provides information to individuals and governments and assists them to improve social integration.

Promoting Common Prosperity through Urban-Rural Integration: Practical Challenges, Institutional Logic, and Progressive Approaches for the Social Security System

Urban-rural integration serves as a pragmatic strategy for developing social security in China,while promoting common prosperity represents a value-driven choice.Moving from urban-rural integration toward promoting common prosperity,the social security system faces several practical challenges,including limited medical and healthcare resources,disparities in social insurance benefits,inadequacies in socialassistancelevels,and deficiencies in social welfare expenditures.To overcome these challenges,a gradual practical approach has been formed based on three institutional logics:the institutional integration logic for bridging the gap,the institutional adaptability logic for enhancing resilience,and the institutional enhancement logic for empowering prosperity.This approach involves a progression from management integration to institutional alignment and system integration.Promotion of common prosperity through urban-rural integration not only provides a practical perspective and realistic depiction of China's unique social security system but also encompasses the institutional civilization and value implications associated with the development of social security in China.

Use of Social Cognitive Theory to Assess Salient Clinical Research in Chronic Disease Self-Management for Older Adults: An Integrative Review

The purpose of this integrative review is to evaluate research pertaining to self-management programs for older adults with chronic diseases using Albert Bandura’s Social Cognitive Theory (SCT) for behavior change. The focus is application of the SCT domains to self-management programs. The exploration of the current chronic disease self-management research provides an understanding of the Social Cognitive Theory concepts studied in interventional self-management research. The integrative review explicated two areas related to the theory in need of further research. First, social support has not been thoroughly explored as a mechanism for enhancing self-management interventions. Second, moral disengagement was not identified as a focus within chronic disease research raising the question about the impact of moral disengagement on long-term adherence and behavior change.

Introducing Stakeholder-Based Frameworks for Post-merger Integration （PMI） Success

The importance of stakeholder relationship management for successful integration in post-merger management is not doubted. The establishment of a new powerful trend in investments produces strategic shifts in strategic management. Shareholder wealth maximization way of thinking is changing to stakeholder wealth maximization where a company＇s value management system is based not only on economic profit maximization, but also on environmental, social, and governance （ESG） maximization. There is especially a high need for a management system that can be used by mergers and acquisitions （M＆A） practitioners during integration process. There is a critical need for metrics which can trace the interests of all stakeholders, because to achieve success in integration, it is no longer acceptable for management to focus solely on the needs of one or two stakeholder groups. In this article, the authors have introduced two frameworks： sun cube and stakeholder relationship matrix. These tools can be useful in mergers and acquisitions （M＆A） process for conducting a stakeholder analysis.

The Challenges of the European Union＇s Migration and Integration Policy-The Road to a Common Immigration Policy

This study is about the main problem of the European Union arising from the social status of migrant or migrant background population. It is trying to reveal the real causes, why migrants have difficulties in adapting to the conventions of the receiver countries. The study also focuses on three main questions： the social status of women, public education, and the anomalies of the labour market. It is also trying to find the possible way for the EU communities how to establish and develop a common immigration policy, which can solve the problem in an integrated package system and also fit into the characteristic features of the member-states. This paper is going to give an overview on issues affecting both migrant and migrant-originated communities and is going to analyse cause-reason connections. We also must find efficient responses adequate for applying as strategies for tackling challenges of this nature, which Hungary performs its EU Presidency in first term of the year 2011.
