Results showed that after 2 months’combined treatment, of the 30 cases, 12 had marked improvement, 15 had improvement and 3 had not any improvement, with an effective rate of 90%; the activity of SOD and GSH-Px increased considerably while the content of LPO lowered strikingly. There were significant differences between pre-and post-treatment in the activity of SOD and GSH-Px and the content of LPO (P<0. 01). It reveals that this method is capable of improving VD patients’ clinical symptoms and signs such as headache, dizziness, hemi-paralysis or hemianesthesia, forced crying and laughing, etc.and also raising the ability of the body in removing oxygen free radical, and suppressing peroxidization of free radical to reduce its products, thereby alleviating the toxic effect of oxygen free radical on the brain tissues.展开更多

In the preventive treatment of diseases, the ancient Chinese doctors usually (1) regulated qi of both Conception Vessel and Governor Vessel for health care; (2) performed regular moxibustion; and (3) applied plaster to the acupoint in summer for treating winter-diseases. In the treatment of diseases after onset, the ancient Chinese usually (1) tried best to make early diagnosis and early treatment; and (2) strengthened the related internal organ in advance to check their development; and (3) employed appropriate remedies to recuperate the patient's health.展开更多

Methods: A total of 45 cases of primary osteoporosis female patients were randomly divided into 1 treatment/week (1-T/W), 2 treatments/week (2-T/W) and 3 treatments/week (3-T/W) groups, with 15 cases being in each group. Guanyuan (CV 4), Zusanli (ST 36), Sanyinjiao (SP 6), Shenshu (BL 23), Taixi (KI 3) and Pishu (BL 20) were used and stimulated with reinforcing needling manipulation. For patients with deficiency syndrome of kidney-yang, thermal acupuncture was applied to Shenshu (BL 23), and for patients with spleen-deficiency syndrome, thermal acupuncture applied to Zusanli (ST 36). Results: After 6 months’ treatment, in 1-T/W group, no apparent change of bone intensity was observed, while in 2-T/W and 3-T/W groups, the bone intensity was increased significantly (P<0.05, 0.01). Conclusion: Acupuncture plus moxibustion treatment twice or 3 times every week can obviously improve the bone intensity.展开更多

Methods Thirty patients with malignant tumor accompanied with moderate or severe cancer pain were treated with warming-yang moxibustion technique in combination with acupuncture. Zhōngwǎn (中脘 CV 12), Guānyuán (关元 CV 4) and Shénquè (神阙 CV 8) were applied with warming moxibustion, Hégǔ (合谷 LI 4), Nèiguān (内关 PC 6) Tàichōng (太冲 LR 3) and Sānyīnjiāo (三阴交 SP 6) were punctured as well as other acupoints selected according to differentiation of syndrome. The treatment was given once every day, and 10 times were one treatment course. Pain degree was assessed on the basis of visual analogue scale (VAS) and efficacy based on pain relief. Results Remarkably improvement was seen in 10 cases (33.3%), improvement in 11 cases (36.7%), partially improvement in 8 cases (26.7%), ineffective in 1 case (3.3%), and the total effective rate was 96.7%. VAS was 6.07±1.26 before the treatment and was 2.53±1.48 after the treatment. The difference was statistically significant (P0.01). Conclusion Warming-yang moxibustion technique in combination with acupuncture is effective in the treatment of cancer pain.展开更多

Methods The insomnia patients conforming to the diagnostic criteria were included into the study of "five spirits acupoints", and statistical analysis was conducted over the 65 patients who completed the courses of treatment. Shéntíng(神庭 GV 24), Běnshén(本神 GB 13), Sìshéncōng(四神聪 EX-HN 1), Shéndào(神道 GV 11) and Shénmén(神门 HT 7) were selected. Manipulation: perpendicular insertion was conducted at GV 11 and HT 7, and transverse insertion was conducted at GV 24, GB 13 and EX-HN 1, with the acupuncture depth of 10–15 mm. Even reinforcing and reducing method was applied. Needles were retained at all the selected acupoints, except GV 11, for 25 min. The treatment was conducted every other day, and treatment for 10 times was considered as one course of treatment. After one course, the changes of PSQI, the time to fall asleep, sleep time and soporific dosage were observed before and after treatment. Results According to the comparison before and after treatment, the mean deviation of PSQI, the time to fall asleep, sleep time and soporific dosage were 10.02±1.75,(0.7±0.5) h,(2.1±1.5) h and(10.3±2.5) mg, respectively, all P〈0.05, and the differences were all significant. Conclusion Acupuncture at "five spirits acupoints" in treatment of insomnia can improve patients’ sleep quality, shorten the time to fall asleep, prolong the actual sleep time, and reduce soporific dosage. With few acupoints selected, superficial needling and small stimulation, acupuncture at "five spirits acupoints" has better efficacy and is easy to be accepted by patients.展开更多

文摘In the present study, the clinical effect of acupuncture, moxibustion plus Chinese medicinal herbs for treatment of 30 cases of vascular dementia (VD) was observed and their mechanisms were analyzed by determining the activity of SOD, LPO and GSH-Px. Results showed that after 2 months’combined treatment, of the 30 cases, 12 had marked improvement, 15 had improvement and 3 had not any improvement, with an effective rate of 90%; the activity of SOD and GSH-Px increased considerably while the content of LPO lowered strikingly. There were significant differences between pre-and post-treatment in the activity of SOD and GSH-Px and the content of LPO (P<0. 01). It reveals that this method is capable of improving VD patients’ clinical symptoms and signs such as headache, dizziness, hemi-paralysis or hemianesthesia, forced crying and laughing, etc.and also raising the ability of the body in removing oxygen free radical, and suppressing peroxidization of free radical to reduce its products, thereby alleviating the toxic effect of oxygen free radical on the brain tissues.
