Despite of the previous reported cases, the lesion was located in the right colon and was not associated with the conventional adenoma. We performed immunohistochemical and molecular analyses in order to explore whether the CCA had the molecular features generally associated with conventional colorectal carcinoma. The immunohistochemical and molecular analyses showed that the different morphology of CCA does not reflect a distinct biological entity but only an unusual morphological variant of intestinal carcinoma.展开更多

AFX/PDS is essentially diagnosis of exclusion requiring Immunohistochemical work-up to exclude other types of tumors. Case Report: We present a case involving an ulcerated solitary lesion on the scalp of an elderly man. Histological examination revealed that the dermal tumor was composed of large pleomorphic, epithelioid, and spindle cells with clear cytoplasm. These cells were negative for cytokeratins, melanocytes and smooth muscle markers, but positive for CD10. These findings are consistent with a diagnosis of clear cell (CC) PDS. Conclusion: PDS is a low-grade malignancy that can recur locally and metastasize, which is distinguished from AFX by its larger size and the presence of aggressive histopathologic features including deeper invasion into the subcutaneous tissue, tumor necrosis, and lymphovascular and/or perineural involvement. Among several histopathologic variants, the CC variant is extremely rare with only two cases of PDS reported in the literature to date.展开更多

This systematic review and meta-analysis summarized the available evidence of EGFR mutation epidemiology in Indian patients with adenocarcinoma (ADC) Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC). We conducted a structured literature search in PubMed, and EMBASE databases from January 2004 through October 2019. The primary outcome of interest was prevalence of EGFR mutation by gender, smoking status, and mutation subtype. The review included 34 studies. EGFR mutation prevalence was 39.5% in patients with ADC, and significantly higher in females, non-smokers, and patients with exon 19 deletions. The EGFR mutation frequency in Indian patients with ADC was higher than reported in Caucasians but at a lower range of that reported in East Asians. These findings support the use of EGFR mutation testing to guide choice of treatment.展开更多
文摘Humoral Hypercalcemia of Malignancy (HHM) has been reported in association with a number of malignancies. In gynecologic malignancies, ovarian Clear Cell Carcinoma (CCC) is one of the most commonhistologic subtypes, whereas HHM caused by endometrial CCC is very rare. We report a case of endometrial CCC with HHM, with a low serum intact PTH level, elevated serum PTH-related Peptide (PTH-rP), and immunohistochemically demonstrated PTH-rP in the neoplasm.
文摘BACKGROUND Clear cell adenocarcinoma of the urethra is a rare type of aggressive cancer with a poor prognosis.Clear cell carcinoma of the urethra represents less than 0.02%of all malignancies in women.Adenocarcinomas account for 10%of female urethral carcinomas,of which 40%are the clear cell variant.Determining the presence or absence of certain mutations through genetic testing may predict whether a patient with cancer may benefit from a particular chemotherapy regimen.CASE SUMMARY A 40-year-old woman presented with a 3-year history of slow urinary flow and a 3-mo history of urinary urgency and frequency as well as gross hematuria. An abdominal and pelvic computed tomography scan demonstrated enlarged lymph nodes in the abdomen and pelvis.A biopsy of a left inguinal lymph node microscopically confirmed a metastatic adenocarcinoma of the urethra.Specialized genetic testing determined personalized chemotherapy. She was treated successfully with a non-platinum-based chemotherapy consisting of paclitaxel and bevacizumab.Following 3 cycles of paclitaxel and bevacizumab, she attained significant clinical improvement, and response by FDG-Positron emission tomography(PET)imaging showed a definite improvement in size and metabolic activity. She achieved complete response after 6 cycles of therapy by PET scan. The patient concluded 11 cycles of paclitaxel and bevacizumab, and a subsequent PET scan confirmed progression of metastatic disease. The patient was then treated with two cycles of doxorubicin after which a PET scan revealed a mixed response to the treatment.CONCLUSION We report the first case of a patient with metastatic clear cell adenocarcinoma of the urethra who underwent personalized chemotherapy after testing for cancer gene alterations. Our unique case represents the safe and effective use of nonplatinum-based chemotherapy in clear cell adenocarcinoma of the urethra.

文摘Here we report a new case of clear cell adenocarcinoma (CCA) of the colon in a 54-year-old Caucasian man. Despite of the previous reported cases, the lesion was located in the right colon and was not associated with the conventional adenoma. We performed immunohistochemical and molecular analyses in order to explore whether the CCA had the molecular features generally associated with conventional colorectal carcinoma. The immunohistochemical and molecular analyses showed that the different morphology of CCA does not reflect a distinct biological entity but only an unusual morphological variant of intestinal carcinoma.

文摘Advanced LUAD shows limited response to treatment including immune therapy. With the development of sequencing omics,it is urgent to combine high-throughput multi-omics data to identify new immune checkpoint therapeutic response markers.Using GSE72094(n=386)and GSE31210(n=226)gene expression profile data in the GEO database,we identified genes associated with lung adenocarcinoma(LUAD)death using tools such as“edgeR”and“maftools”and visualized the characteristics of these genes using the“circlize”R package. We constructed a prognostic model based on death-related genes and optimized the model using LASSO-Cox regression methods.By calculating the cell death index(CDI)of each individual,we divided LUAD patients into high and low CDI groups and examined the relationship between CDI and overall survival time by principal component analysis(PCA)and Kaplan-Meier analysis. We also used the“ConsensusClusterPlus”tool for unsupervised clustering of LUAD subtypes based on model genes. In addition,we collected data on the expression of immunomodulatory genes and model genes for each cohort and performed tumor microenvironment analyses. We also used the TIDE algorithm to predict immunotherapy responses in the CDI cohort. Finally,we studied the effect of PRKCD on the proliferation and migration of LUAD cells through cell culture experiments. The study utilized the TCGA-LUAD cohort(n=493)and identified 2,901 genes that are differentially expressed in patients with LUAD.Through KEGG and GO enrichment analysis, these genes were found to be involved in a wide range of biological pathways. The study also used univariate Cox regression models and LASSO regression analyses to identify 17 candidate genes that were best associated with mortality prognostic risk scores.By comparing the overall survival(OS)outcomes of patients with different CDI values,it was found that increased CDI levels were significantly associated with lower OS rates. In addition, the study used unsupervised cluster analysis to divide 115 LUAD patients into two distinct clusters with significant differences in OS timing. Finally,a prognostic indicator called CDI was established and its feasibility as an independent prognostic indicator was evaluated by Cox proportional risk regression analysis. The immunotherapy efficacy was more sensitive in the group with high expression of programmed cell death models.Relationship between programmed cell death(PCD)signature models and drug reactivity. After evaluating the median inhibitory concentration(IC50)of various drugs in LUAD samples, statistically significant differences in IC50 values were found in cohorts with high and low CDI status.Specifically,Gefitinib and Lapatinib had higher IC50 values in the high-CDI cohort, while Olaparib,Oxaliplatin,SB216763,and Axitinib had lower values. These results suggest that individuals with high CDI levels are sensitive to tyrosine kinase inhibitors and may be resistant to conventional chemotherapy. Therefore, this study constructed a gene model that can evaluate patient immunotherapy by using programmed cell death-related genes based on muti-omics.The CDI index composed of these programmed cell death-related genes reveals the heterogeneity of lung adenocarcinoma tumors and serves as a prognostic indicator for patients.
文摘BACKGROUND Clear cell sarcoma(CCS)is a rare soft-tissue sarcoma. The most common metastatic sites for CCS are the lungs, bones and brain.CCS is highly invasive and mainly metastasizes to the lung, followed by the bone and brain;however, pancreatic metastasis is relatively rare.CASE SUMMARY We report on a rare case of CCS with pancreatic metastasis in a 47-year-old man.The patient had a relevant medical history 3 years ago, with abdominal pain as the main clinical manifestation. No abnormalities were observed on physical examination and the tumor was found on abdominal computed tomography.Based on the medical history and postoperative pathology, the patient was diagnosed with CCS with pancreatic metastasis. The patient was successfully treated with surgical interventions, including distal pancreatectomy and sple-nectomy.CONCLUSION This report summarizes the available treatment modalities for CCS and the importance of regular postoperative follow-up for patients with CCS.

文摘This research aims to identify the key fatty acid beta-oxidation(FAO)genes that are altered in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma(KIRC)and to analyze the role of these genes in KIRC The Gene Expression Omnibus(GEO)and FAO datasets were used to identify these key genes.Wilcoxon rank sum test was used to assess the levels of acyl-CoA dehydrogenase medium chain(ACADM)between KIRC and non cancer samples. The logistic regression and Wilcoxon rank sum test were used to explore the association between ACADM and clinical features. The diagnostic performance of ACADM for KIRC was asessed using a diagnostic receiver operating ch aracteristic(ROC)curve. The co-expressed genes of ACADM were identifed in LinkedOmics database, and their function and pathway enrichment were analyzed. The correlation between ACADM expression level and immune infitration was analyzed by Gene Set Variation Analysis(GSVA)method Additionally, the proliferation, migration, and invasion abilities of KIRC cells were assessed after overexpressing ACADM.Following differential analysis and intersection,we identifed six hub genes, induding ACADM.We found that the expression level of ACADM was decreased in KIRC tissues and had a better diagnostic efect(AUC=0.916).Survival analysis suggested that patients with decreased ACADM expression had a worse prognosis.According to correlation analysis,a variety of dinical features were associated with the expression level of ACADML By analyzing the infiltration level of immune cells,we found that ACADM may be related to the enrichment of immune cells. Finally,ACADM overexpression inhibited proliferation, migration, and invasion of KIRC cells. In conclusion, our findings suggest that reduced ACADM expression in KIRC patients is indicative of poor prognosis. These results imply that ACADM may be a diagnostic and prognostic marker for individuals with KIRC,offering a reference for dinicians in diagnosis and treatment.

文摘BACKGROUND Pulmonary mucoepidermoid carcinoma(PMEC)is a rare malignancy that arises from minor salivary glands within the tracheobronchial tree. The clear cell variant of PMEC is exceptionally uncommon and presents notable diagnostic challenges, primarily attributable to its morphological similarity to other tumors containing clear cells.CASE SUMMARY A 22-year-old male, formerly in good health, came in with a two-month duration of persistent cough and production of sputum.Subsequent imaging and bronchoscopy examinations revealed a 2 cm tumor in the distal left main bronchus, which resulted in complete atelectasis of the left lung.Further assessment via positron emission tomography/computed tomography scans and endoscopic biopsy confirmed the primary malignant nature of the tumor,charac-terized by clear cell morphology in most of the tumor cells. The patient underwent a left lower lobe sleeve resection accompanied by systematic mediastinal lymph node dissection.Molecular pathology analysis subsequently revealed a CRTC3-MAML2 gene fusion, leading to a definitive pathological diagnosis of the clear cell variant of PMEC,staged as T2N0M0.After surgery, the patient experienced a smooth recovery and exhibited no signs of recurrence during the one-and-a-half-year follow-up period.CONCLUSION This article describes an unusual case of a clear cell variant of PMEC characterized by the presence of a CRTC3-MAML2 gene fusion in a 22-year-old male. The patient underwent successful left lower lobe sleeve resection. This case underscores the distinctive challenges associated with diagnosing and treating this uncommon malignancy, underscoring the importance of precise diagnosis and personalized treatment strategies.

文摘Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer-related deaths globally. In recent years, with the widespread use of genetic testing, epidermal growth factor receptor–tyrosine kinase inhibitor(EGFR-TKI)–targeted drugs have been efficacious to patients with lung adenocarcinoma exhibiting EGFR mutations. However, resistance to treatment is inevitable and eventually leads to tumor progression, recurrence, and reduction in the overall treatment efficacy.Lung cancer stem cells play a crucial role in the development of resistance toward EGFR-TKI–targeted therapy for lung adenocarcinoma.Lung cancer stem cells possess self-renewal,multilineage differentiation, and unlimited proliferation capabilities, which efficiently contribute to tumor formation and ultimately lead to tumor recurrence andmetastasis. In this study,we evaluated the origin, markers, stemness index, relevant classic studies, resistance mechanisms, related signaling pathways, and strategies for reversing lung cancer stem cell resistance to EGFR-TKIs to provide new insights on delaying or reducing resistance and to improve the treatment efficacy of patients with EGFR-mutated lung adenocarcinoma in the future.
文摘Introduction: Atypical fibroxanthoma (AFX) and pleomorphic dermal sarcoma (PDS) are one spectrum of rare cutaneous neoplasms that typically arise in sun-exposed skin of older population. Among several histopathologic variants, the CC variant is extremely rare with only two cases of PDS reported in the literature to date.

文摘BACKGROUND Comprehensive genomic analysis has shown that small bowel adenocarcinoma(SBA)has different genomic profiles from gastric and colorectal cancers.Hence,it is essential to establish chemotherapeutic regimens based on SBA characteristics. The expression of programmed cell death-ligand 1(PD-L1)and programmed cell death-ligand 2(PD-L2)in SBA is not fully understood.Anti-PD-L1/PD-1 therapy uses tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes(TILs);therefore, the status of TILs in the tumor microenvironment(TME)may influence their efficacy. The ratio of FoxP3+to CD8+T cells has been reported to be useful in predicting the prognosis of digestive system cancers.AIM To investigate the clinicopathological significance of PD-L1/2 expression according to the status of TILs in SBA tissues.METHODS We performed immunohistochemical analysis for PD-L1,PD-L2,CD8,FoxP3,and DNA mismatch repair(MMR)proteins using formalin-fixed,paraffin-embedded tissues from 50 patients diagnosed with primary SBA.The immunoreactivities of PD-L1 and PD-L2 were determined separately in tumor cells and tumor-infiltrating immune cells throughout the tumor center and invasive margins, and finally evaluated using the combined positive score(CPS).We assessed CD8+and FoxP3+T cells in the intratumoral and tumor-surrounding stroma.Subsequently,we calculated and summed the ratio of FoxP3 to CD8+T cell counts.Immune-related cell densities were graded as low or high.Immunohistochemical results were compared with clinicopathological factors and patient prognosis. The distribution of cancer-specific survival(CSS)was estimated using the Kaplan–Meier method, and the log-rank test was used to test for significant differences in CSS.A Cox proportional hazard model was also used to assess the effect of tumor variables on CSS.RESULTS PD-L1 expression was positive in 34%in tumor cells(T-PD-L1)and 54%in tumor-infiltrating immune cells(I-PDL1)of the cases examined.T-PD-L2 was positive in 34%and I-PD-L2 was positive in 42%of the cases.PD-L1 CPS≥10 and PD-L2 CPS≥10 were observed in 50%and 56%of the cases, respectively.Deficient MMR(dMMR)was 14%of the cases.T-PD-L1,I-PD-L1 and PD-L1 CPS≥10 were all significantly associated with dMMR(P=0.037,P=0.009,and P=0.005,respectively).T-PD-L1,I-PD-L1,and PD-L1 CPS≥10 were all associated with deeper depth of invasion(P=0.001,P=0.024,and P=0.002,respectively).I-PD-L2 expression and PD-L2 CPS≥10 were significantly higher in the differentiated histological type(P=0.015 and P=0.030,respectively).The I-PD-L1 and IPD-L2 levels were significantly associated with better CSS(P=0.037 and P=0.015,respectively).CD8-high was significantly associated with less lymph node metastasis(P=0.047),less distant metastasis(P=0.024),less peritoneal dissemination(P=0.034),and earlier TNM stage(P=0.047).The CD8-high group had better prognosis than the CD8-low group(P=0.018).FoxP3 expression was not associated with any clinicopathological factors or prognosis. We found that patients with PD-L2 CPS≥10 tended to have worse prognosis in the FoxP3/CD8-low group(P=0.088).CONCLUSION The clinicopathological significance of PD-L1/2 expression may differ depending on the TME status.Immune checkpoint inhibitors may improve the prognosis of SBA patients with low FoxP3/CD8 ratio and PD-L2 expression.
文摘BACKGROUND Clear cell renal cell carcinoma(ccRCC)is a common type of tumor that can metastasize to any organs and sites. However,it is extremely rare for ccRCC to metastasize to the iris. Here,we describe a rare case of iris metastasis from ccRCC with a history of left nephrectomy in 2010.CASE SUMMARY A 62-year-old male was admitted to the hospital due to blurred vision and red eyes, and a mass was found on the iris in the right eye.B-scan ultrasonography revealed a well-bounded high-density lesion at the corner of the anterior chamber at the 3-4 o’clock position.Phacoemulsification with simultaneous intraocular lens implantation and iridocyclectomy was performed in the right eye.The lesion was confirmed to be metastatic ccRCC by histological and immunohistochemical analyses. The patient was still alive at 9 mo after surgical treatment.Ocular metastasis can be an initial sign with a poor prognosis.Timely detection and treatment may improve survival.Clinicians should pay attention to similar metastatic diseases to prevent misdiagnosis leading to missed treatment oppor-tunities.CONCLUSION This report of the characteristics and successful management of a rare case of iris metastasis from ccRCC highlights the importance of a comprehensive medical history, histopathology, immunohistochemistry, and clinical manifestation for successful disease diagnosis.

文摘Background:In many cancer types, aryl hydrocarbon receptor nuclear translocator 2(ARNT2)has been found to be associated with tumor cell proliferation and prognosis. However, the role of ARNT2 in clear cell renal cell carcinoma(ccRCC)has not been completely elucidated. In this study, the potential role of ARNT2 in ccRCC development was characterized. Methods:A pan-cancer dataset(TCGA-TARGET-GTEx)was accessed from UCSC Xena Data Browser.ARNT2 expression in normal and tumor samples was compared.Univariate Cox regression was performed to evaluate the prognostic value of ARNT2.Single sample gene set enrichment analysis(ssGSEA)was used to estimate the enrichment of functional pathways and gene signatures.CIBERSORT and ESTIMATE methods evaluated the immune infiltration. The ARNT2 expression was determined in ccRCC tissue and cell lines using RT-qPCR and Western blot.Results:ARNT2 expression was significantly dysregulated in 23 out of 30 cancer types.Pan-cancer data revealed a strong correlation between ARNT2 expression and immune modulators, immune cell infiltration, and genomic alternations. In ccRCC patients, the low-ARNT2 expression group had higher immune infiltration,CD8 T cells, and programmed cell death ligand 1 expression,as well as higher enrichment score of immunotherapeutic predictors than those in the high-ARNT2 expression group.Low-ARNT2 expression group was more responsive to immunotherapy. Moreover, low ARNT2 expression was observed in ccRCC tissue and cell lines. Conclusions:Dysregulated ARNT2 expression is involved in cancer development and the modulation of the immune microenvironment.ARNT2 can be potentially used as a prognostic indicator and an immunotherapeutic indicator for ccRCC.
文摘Lung adenocarcinoma(LUAD)is the leading cause of cancer-related deaths, accounting for over a million deaths worldwide annually.Immunogenic cell death(ICD)elicits an adaptive immune response. However, the role of ICD-related long noncoding RNAs(lncRNAs)in LUAD is unknown. In this study,we investigated the characteristics of the tumor microenvironment in LUAD,the prognostic significance of ICD-related lncRNAs,and the half-maximal inhibitory concentration(IC50)of possible chemotherapeutic drugs. We sorted prognostic lncRNAs using univariate Cox regression and constructed a risk signature based on them.We then confirmed the model’s accuracy and generated a nomogram.Additionally,we performed immune microenvironment analysis, somatic mutation calculation,Tumor Immune Dysfunction and Exclusion(TIDE)analysis, and anticancer pharmaceutical IC50 prediction.Least absolute shrinkage and selection operator Cox regression identified 27 prognostic lncRNAs related to ICD,and a unique risk signature using 10 ICD-related lncRNAs was constructed. The risk score was confirmed to be a reliable predictor of survival, with the highest c-index score. The signature had a remarkable predictive performance with clinical applicability and could accurately predict the overall survival in LUAD.Furthermore, the lncRNA signature was closely associated with immunocyte invasion. We also analyzed the correlation between the risk score,tumor-infiltrating immune cells, and prognosis and identified high immune and ESTIMATE scores in low-risk patients. Moreover,we observed elevated checkpoint gene expression and low TIDE scores in high-risk patients, indicating a good immunotherapy response.Finally,high-risk patients were shown to be susceptible to anticancer medications. Therefore, our unique risk signature comprising 10 ICD-related lncRNAs was demonstrated to indicate the characteristics of the tumor-immune microenvironment in LUAD,predict patients’overall survival, and guide individualized treatment.

文摘BACKGROUND Cancer detection is a global research focus, and novel, rapid, and label-free techniques are being developed for routine clinical practice. This has led to the development of new tools and techniques from the bench side to routine clinical practice. In this study,we present a method that uses Raman spectroscopy(RS)to detect cancer in unstained formalin-fixed,resected specimens of the esophagus and stomach. Our method can record a clear Raman-scattered light spectrum in these specimens, confirming that the Raman-scattered light spectrum changes because of the histological differences in the mucosal tissue.AIM To evaluate the use of Raman-scattered light spectrum for detecting endoscopically resected specimens of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma(SCC)and gastric adenocarcinoma(AC).METHODS We created a Raman device that is suitable for observing living tissues, and attempted to acquire Raman-scattered light spectra in endoscopically resected specimens of six esophageal tissues and 12 gastric tissues. We evaluated formalin-fixed tissues using this technique and captured shifts at multiple locations based on feasibility, ranging from six to 19 locations 200 microns apart in the vertical and horizontal directions.Furthermore,a correlation between the obtained Raman scattered light spectra and histopathological diagnosis was performed.RESULTS We successfully obtained Raman scattered light spectra from all six esophageal and 12 gastric specimens. After data capture, the tissue specimens were sent for histopathological analysis for further processing because RS is a label-free methodology that does not cause tissue destruction or alterations.Based on data analysis of molecular-level substrates,we established cut-off values for the diagnosis of esophageal SCC and gastric AC.By analyzing specific Raman shifts,we developed an algorithm to identify the range of esophageal SCC and gastric AC with an accuracy close to that of histopathological diagnoses.CONCLUSION Our technique provides qualitative information for real-time morphological diagnosis. However, further in vivo evaluations require an excitation light source with low human toxicity and large amounts of data for validation.
文摘BACKGROUND Mantle cell lymphoma(MCL)of the gastrointestinal tract is a rare malignancy, accounting for about 0.2%of malignant colorectal tumors.MCL synchronous with rectal adenocarcinoma is extremely rare.We know of only a few cases reported in the literature. We describe the case of a patient with synchronous rectal adenocarcinoma and intestinal MCL.CASE SUMMARY A 63-year-old man was admitted to our hospital due to abdominal pain and hematochezia over the past month. The patient was diagnosed with middle rectal cancer cT2N0M0 and underwent surgery. However,we found a large tumor in the small intestine during surgery. The patient underwent total mesorectal excision for rectal cancer and resectioning of the ileal segment containing the large mass.Pathology and immunohistochemistry revealed the presence of both rectal adenocarcinoma and pathognomonic MCL stage IIE presenting as multiple lymphomatous polyposis. The patient subsequently underwent RDHAP/RCHOP chemotherapy and was maintained with rituximab.A Positron Emission Tomography and Computed Tomography(PET/CT)scan showed that the disease responded well to treatment without tumor-increased metabolism in the gastrointestinal tract.CONCLUSION Synchronous rectal adenocarcinoma and intestinal MCL presenting as multiple lymphomatous polyposis are extremely rare.MCL is often discovered fortuitously when rectal cancer is diagnosed. The coexistence of these tumors poses treatment challenges.

文摘Objective:To analyze serum vitamin D levels in patients with clear cell renal cell carcinoma(ccRCC)by flow cytometry and to investigate the relationship between hypovitaminosis D status and hyperactivation of IL-6/STAT3 signaling in ccRCC.Methods:Eighty patients diagnosed with ccRCC by our oncology department from January 2019 to December 2021 were selected as study subjects, and the control subjects were selected from patients who were receiving health check-up from our hospital(matched according to case group:control group,1:2),with 160 healthy patients. All serum samples collected from the case-control subjects were allowed to stand for 1–2 hours, centrifuged at 3000 rpm for 10 minutes, and stored in a-80°C refrigerator, from which they were removed and thawed to measure 25-hydroxyvitamin D(25(OH)D)and interleukin 6(IL-6)levels.Results:The blood calcium level of patients in the cancer group was significantly lower than that of patients in the non-cancer group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The IL-6 level of the cancer group was significantly higher than that of the non-cancer group. In high vitamin D state, the IL-6 level of the non-cancer group was higher than that of the cancer group, and the average concentration of IL-6 in both the cancer group and the non-cancer group was significantly higher in low vitamin D state compared with high vitamin D state(P<0.05);the correlation between hypovitaminosis D status and renal Ki-67 was found to be positive. Conclusion:The results showed that serum IL-6 levels were elevated in the cancer group and circulating serum 25(OH)D levels were negatively correlated with IL-6 levels. In addition, signal transducer and activator of transcription 3(STAT3)signaling in RCC tissues was activated in ccRCC patients and in those with low vitamin D status among the cancer group and was higher than that in those with high vitamin D status. These results suggest that hypovitaminosis D status in ccRCC patients is associated with activated IL-6/STAT3 signaling and the activation of tumor proliferation markers proliferating cell nuclear antigen(PCNA),cyclin D1,and Ki-67.
文摘Studies reporting the Indian prevalence of Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor (EGFR) mutation are mostly single centers with small sample sizes. These findings support the use of EGFR mutation testing to guide choice of treatment.
