Features of refi'actory gold ores are: gold in micro-particles or a microscopic state that is wrapped in pyrite, presence of arsenopyrite and other sulfide minerals or disseminated in the crystal lattice of sulfide minerals; harmful impurity elements such as arsenic, carbon, mercury, antimony, copper with high content are closely related with the gold, and these elements affect the contact reaction between the gold and solvent extraction, making the recovery of the gold extraction process low. In the past 20 years, overseas countries have developed the application of the roasting oxidation method, hot acid (alkali) oxidation, bacterial oxidation and flash chlorination oxidation technology to solve this problem.Among these, biological oxidation has developed rapidly in the domestic market and gold enterprises abroad because of its low investment in infrastructure, low production costs, less environmental pollution, simple process and easy control, etc.展开更多

It can produce 100 MW of electricity, or 90 MW of electricity and 40,000 t of desal...SMART (system-integrated modular advanced reactor) is a small-sized advanced integral reactor with a rated thermal power of 330 MW. It can produce 100 MW of electricity, or 90 MW of electricity and 40,000 t of desalinated water concurrently, which is sufficient for 100,000 residents. SMART technology is a sensible mixture of new innovative design features and proven technologies through a PWR. The enhancement of safety and reliability is realized by incorporating inherent safety features and reliable passive safety systems. The improvement in the economics is achieved through system simplification, component modularization, construction time reduction, and increased plant availability. All technologies and design features implemented into SMART have been proven in industries and/or qualified through the SMART design verification program including comprehensive test and experiments. The full scope of the safety analyses carried out to confirm that the inherent safety-improvement design characteristics and safety systems of SMART ensure reactor safety. After a thorough licensing review, SDA (standard design approval) for SMART was granted on July 4th, 2012 by the Korea NSSC (Nuclear Safety and Security Commission). This marks the first license for an integral-type reactor in the world. This paper presents the SMART characteristics, safety features and technology validation. Following collection, the data undergoes a rigorous preprocessing stage, involving cleaning, integration, transformation, and normalization to ensure accuracy and consistency for analysis. The analytical phase employs time-series analysis to delineate historical trends and utilizes predictive modeling to forecast future trajectories of human trafficking using the advanced analytical capabilities of Power BI. A comparative analysis across regions—Africa, the Americas, Asia, and Europe—is conducted to identify and visualize the distribution of human trafficking, dissecting the data by victim demographics, types of exploitation, and duration of victimization. This article, for the first time, provides a novel advanced oxidation process based on sulfate radical (SO^4·-) to degrade organic pollutants in wastewater: microwave (MW)-activated persulfate oxidation (AP...This article, for the first time, provides a novel advanced oxidation process based on sulfate radical (SO^4·-) to degrade organic pollutants in wastewater: microwave (MW)-activated persulfate oxidation (APO) with or without active carbon (AC). Azo dye acid Orange 7 (AO7) is used as a model compound to investigate the high reactivity of MW-APO. It is found that AO7 (up to 1000 mg/L) is completely decolorized within 5-7 min under an 800 W MW furnace assisted-APO. In the presence of chloride ion (up to 0.50 mol/L), the decolorization is still 100% completed, though delayed for about 1-2 min. Experiments are made to examine the enhancement by AC. It is exciting to find that the 100% decolorization of AO7 (500 mg/L) is achieved within 3 min by MW-APO using 1.0 g/L AC as catalyst, while the degradation efficiency maintains at 50% by MW energy without persulfate after about 5 min. Besides the destruction of visible light chromophore band of AO7 (484 nm), during MW-APO, two bands in the ultraviolet region (228 nm and 310 nm) are rapidly broken down. The removal of COD is about 83%-95% for 500 mg/L AO7. SO^4·- is identified with quenching studies using specific alcohols. Both SO^4·- and ·OH could degrade AO7, but SO^4·- plays the dominant role. In a word, MW-APO AC is a new catalytic combustion technology for destruction of organic contamination even for high concentration.展开更多

Current battery and fuel cell systems are challenged by a few issues characterized either of insufficient energy capacity or of operation instability and, thus, are not ideal for highly-demanded applications, such as electrical vehicles and portable electronic devices. Inefficient mass transfer in energy conversion/storage devices has been the key factor leading to these aforementioned challenges.
