The im...Information technology (IT) was one of the most intensively studied and extensively applied technologies in the 20th century and its research and application will be even more accelerated in the 21st century. The impact of IT is more farreaching than any one may have had imagined, encompassing all facets and sectors of society. Economically, e-commerce generated more than $1.5 trillion in the US in 2004 and is projected to be 30, 15 and 2.6% of the total manufacturing, whole sales and retail sales in the US in 2006 respectively. IT research in agriculture has so far been particularly applied to such fields as precision farming and bioinformatics and in extension and farming practices. As such, its potential application in agricultural e-commerce has only begun to be explored. The United States Department of Agriculture has identified four different functions that e-commerce firms perform in the agricultural sector. They are: (1) information distribution, (2) input supply, (3) commodity trading floor, and (4) logistics/supply chain management. Unlike other industrial products, agricultural products are much more diverse and difficult to process and handle. For instance, fruits and vegetables are perishable and have to reach the market and the hands of consumers within a short period of time. One of the problems for IT applications in agriculture is the lack of standard measures in characteristics and quality of perishable produce and processing foods. Standards are pre-requisites for effective IT application and e-commerce. According to the Global Commerce Initiative, standards bring scalability, portability and affordability to the business process. Standards speed up the supply chain and reduce errors and protect technology investments and ensure system to system interaction and interoperability. Because the complexity of issues involved in standardization, the process of standardization must involve the input and discussion from all segments of the society. Being the largest agricultural country in the world and one of the most active trading partners in the international market, China must also be involved in determining the standards for both domestic and international trades. These measures are the necessary foundations for e-commerce in agriculture. In this paper, we provide a review of the technological development of standardization and coding that are prerequisites for IT application in e-commerce. This understanding is important for professionals in China to promote e- commerce in agriculture. Finally, we propose that a national committee to be formed in China, which includes IT experts from private sectors, academic professionals and governmental officials. This committee should consider the progress being made elsewhere in the world, the unique properties of Chinese commodities and appropriate business models to determine a set of standard measures that are transportable and communicable digitally in the world market for China's e- commerce in agriculture.展开更多

At present, the main conflict of agriculture in China has been changed from insufficient total amount to structural conflict. Thus, deeply promoting the reform of agricultural supply front has become a primary work in rural areas. It is required to follow the national grain security strategy based on domestic supply and moderate imports,to ensure production capacity. Besides,China should make full use of domestic and foreign markets and resources to protect the domestic agricultural consumption demand, which is favorable for resolving the current structural conflict and also favorable for sustainable agricultural development.展开更多

However, detailed analysis of how global agricultural productivity anomalies response to drought stress, particularly within irrigated and rainfed agricultural systems, remains insufficient. In this study, the impact of drought stress on agricultural productivity anomalies during the growing season(zcNDVI^(S)), across both irrigated and rainfed agriculture, were analyzed using a suite of hydro-climatic variables. Specifically, the investigation utilized the multi-scalar Standardized Precipitation Evapotranspiration Index(SPEI), the Multivariate ENSO Index(MEI), and the Madden-Julian Oscillation(MJO). Meanwhile, the relationships between hydroclimatic variables and zcNDVI^(S) were analyzed at one, two, three and four months before the ending of growing season(EOS). Results showed that(1) the percentages of significant(p<0.1) drying trends varied across the globe from 8.30% to 13.42%, 6.50% to 14.63%, 6.52% to 14.23%, and 6.47%to 14.95% at one-, two-, three-, and four-month lead times before EOS, respectively, during 2001–2020, which represented by the multiscalar SPEI. This observation highlights that most regions across the globe tend to be arid, which could significantly impact agricultural productivity;(2) the global mean correlation coefficients(rmax) for SPEI-1, SPEI-3, SPEI-6, SPEI-12(indicating SPEI at 1-, 3-, 6-, and 12-month lags), MEI, and MJO with zcNDVI^(S) ranged between 0.24–0.25, 0.27–0.28, 0.25–0.26, 0.21–0.22, –0.02–0.01 and 0.06–0.11, respectively, across both irrigated and rainfed agriculture system from 2001 to 2020.Agricultural productivity anomalies demonstrated a significant correlation with drought stress. The strongest correlations were noted for SPEI-3 and SPEI-6, suggesting a delayed response of crops to drought conditions. This indicates that agriculture ecosystem experiences prolonged disturbances due to abiotic drought stress;and(3) the percentages of regions that showed significant correlations(p<0.1) between zcNDVI^(S)and drought indices(SPEI-1, SPEI-3, SPEI-6, and SPEI-12), as well as climate indices(MEI and MJO) ranged as follows: 14.77%–20.27%, 21.51%–32.55%, 22.60%–35.68%, 21.89%–35.16%,7.93%–11.20% and 9.44%–17.94%. Quantitatively identifying how zcNDVI^(S) spatially responds to hydro-climatic variables can help us better understand the impact of drought on agricultural productivity anomalies worldwide.展开更多

文摘There is high pressure for investment capital and financial services for agricultural activities necessary for poverty reduction, economic growth, sustainable development and food security. This study investigated the long-term causation between banking sector development and agricultural productivity in the six Central African Economic and Monetary Community(CEMAC)states from 1990 to 2018,hypothesizing no causation between banking sector and agriculture output. With the autoregressive distributed lag(ARDL)model and vector error correction model(VECM),the study demonstrates that banking sector and agricultural productivity in the CEMAC region are related. It implies long-run relationship exists between banking sector and agricultural productivity in the CEMAC zone. The results reveal that bidirectional causality exists between banking sector and agricultural productivity in the CEMAC region. This is insinuating that in the CEMAC region, agricultural productivity and banking sector development are operating in mutualism. The findings indicate the reason to establish the banking sector using proper macroeconomic, legal and regulatory policies to boost agricultural productivity by creating incentive systems that channel more credit to agricultural investment and promoting the banking system.

文摘The three rural issues have been always valued by all circles. Besides,China should make full use of domestic and foreign markets and resources to protect the domestic agricultural consumption demand, which is favorable for resolving the current structural conflict and also favorable for sustainable agricultural development.
文摘Taking Huang-Huai Plain as an example, evaluation index system is established from four aspects, including the resources condition, the social and economic condition, the agricultural science and technology condition, and the disaster resistant and sustainable production condition.Correlation coefficient method and expert consultation method are used to determine the weight of evaluation index. After the standardization of extreme value, weighted sum method and multiple regression method are adopted to evaluate the influencing factors of agricultural land productivity in Huang-Huai Plain,China.Evaluation result shows that agricultural science and technology condition has a lower contribution rate to the productivity of Huang-Huai Plain than that to Henan Province.Resources condition has a higher contribution rate to the productivity of Huang-Huai Plain than that to Henan Province. Both the social and economic condition and the disaster control and sustainable production condition show relatively small contribution rate to the productivity of Huang-Huai Plain. It can be concluded that the main factors affecting the productivity of Huang-Huai Plain are the backward agricultural science and technology level, the poor farmland quality and the farmland infrastructure.Based on this, relevant suggestions are put forward to improve the farmland productivity of Huang-Huai Plain.
文摘The article states that the purpose of the agricultural industry of Russia is the creation of a market for innovation and investment to improve productivity and competitiveness in the context of growing economic, political, and natural climatic instability and volatility, both in Russia and abroad (membership in the WTO, industry globalization, etc.). Foreign economic and political sanctions have a growing negative impact. It is very important for the agriculture industry to be supported by the Russian state budget and to have administrative support, the institutional structure of the state, quantitative and qualitative indicators of national support: federal, regional, and municipal. Positive development of the regional and city aspect is also important.

文摘Based on panel data from the Rural Fixed Point Survey of the Ministry of Agriculture over the period 2004-2016 and supplementary survey data on information and communications technology(ICT)applications in the countryside, this paper employs the difference in differences(DID)method to analyze the effects of ICT applications on rural households’agricultural total factor productivity(TFP)with mobile phone signal, internet and 3G mobile network connections as indicators, and decomposes and evaluates the constituent factors. Our findings reveal a positive effect of ICTs on rural households’TFP,which primarily stemmed from rising agricultural technical efficiency. However,ICTs exerted no significant effect on agricultural technical progress during this paper’s data period due to limited rural human capital. These findings are consistent with robustness test results based on counterfactual and matching methods.

文摘The response of agricultural productivity anomalies to drought stress plays a crucial role in the carbon cycle within terrestrial ecosystems and in ensuring food security. Quantitatively identifying how zcNDVI^(S) spatially responds to hydro-climatic variables can help us better understand the impact of drought on agricultural productivity anomalies worldwide.
文摘The low efficiency and high cost of fresh agricultural product terminal distribution directly restrict the operation of the entire supply network. To reduce costs and optimize the distribution network,we construct a mixed integer programmingmodel that comprehensively considers tominimize fixed,transportation,fresh-keeping,time,carbon emissions, and performance incentive costs. We analyzed the performance of traditional rider distribution and robot distribution modes in detail. In addition, the uncertainty of the actual market demand poses a huge threat to the stability of the terminal distribution network. In order to resist uncertain interference,we further extend the model to a robust counterpart form. The results of the simulation show that the instability of random parameters will lead to an increase in the cost.Compared with the traditional rider distribution mode, the robot distribution mode can save 12.7%on logistics costs, and the distribution efficiency is higher. Our research can provide support for the design of planning schemes for transportation enterprise managers.
