This algorithm mainly emp hasizes a decision mechanism for bit-flips, which thoroughly evaluates four different aspects of the decoding process, properly weighs and combines their respective reliability measures, and then employs the combined measure to make a judgment with regard to whether any particular bit should be flipped or not. Simulations result in a very steep Bit Error Rate (BER) curve indicating that a high-level net coding gain can be expected with a reasonable complexity. The simplicity and effectiveness of this HIHO decoding algorithm makes it a p romising candidate for the application in future high-speed fiber optical communications.展开更多

This information can be analyzed,judged,and diagnosed by the monitoring-management-controlling software for helping the manager and technical workers to control the actual underground production and security situations. Combined cooling, heating, and power (CCHP) systems have the po...The increasing pace of urbanization means that cities and global organizations are looking for ways to increase energy efficiency and reduce emissions. Combined cooling, heating, and power (CCHP) systems have the potential to improve the energy generation efficiency of a city or urban region by providing energy for heating, cooling, and electricity simultaneously. The purpose of this study is to estimate the water consumption for energy generation use, carbon dioxide (CO2) and NOx emissions, and economic impact of implementing CCHP systems for five generic building types within the Atlanta metropolitan region, under various operational scenarios following the building thermal (heating and cooling) demands. Operating the CCHP system to follow the hourly thermal demand reduces CO2 emissions for most building types both with and without net metering. The system can be economically beneficial for all building types depending on the price of natural gas, the implementation of net metering, and the cost structure assumed for the CCHP system. The greatest reduction in water consumption for energy production and NOx emissions occurs when there is net metering and when the system is operated to meet the maximum yearly thermal demand, although this scenario also results in an increase in greenhouse gas emissions and, in some cases, cost. CCHP systems are more economical for medium office, large office, and multifamilv residential buildings.展开更多

From a formal point of view, a product harm crisis presents similarities with other emergency situations: both of them consist in unpredictable events, often due to unknown or undervalued causes, which can significantly alter normal business and compromise the safety of the company, of its employees and customers. Given the potential damage resulting from a dangerous product crisis, it is surprising that in the food industry alongside mere procedures (often reducible to botched manuals compiled solely because their presence reassures auditors and authorities) there is still little attention to an approach based on a method. Formal corporate procedures (manuals and crisis management plans) are important, but can cause a false sense of security and preparedness, if executives do not possess an adequate crisis management culture, which depends, as well as on experience and training, also on the ability to assume the correct behavioral posture, and which involves psychological, organizational and communicational skills that can not be undervalued. The purpose of this article is to provide a practical approach based on the experience of crisis-management (applied in emergency situations by health professionals, armed forces and civil protection) useful to support food industry during a food recall, in order to avoid the most classic errors that can undermine speed of reaction, corrective measures effectiveness and leadership, in the most delicate moments for a company life. While correct labelling gives the possibility to general public to recognise the risks arising from handling and use of dangerous chemicals, safety data sheets are provided for professionals in order to allow safe handling and storage of dangerous chemicals in work places. Information contained in safety data sheets are also designed to suggest safety measures to be taken for the protection of workers as well as precaution measures and adequate actions to be taken in the case of accident. This project has critically revised the information contained in a list of safety data sheets of active ingredients provided for plant protection products, in order to assess the quality and the consistency of the data contained. Reported data have been then compared to published data. Considerable deficiencies/mistakes/inconsistencies have been found in the data reported along the safety data sheets of the examined substances, showing an urgent need of improving the enforcement related to a systematic recognition in this field as well as training of people involved in compilation of safety data sheets by producer side.展开更多

This study focuses on communication between speech production and perception within human brain an...Realization of an intelligent human-machine interface requires us to investigate human mechanisms and learn from them. This study focuses on communication between speech production and perception within human brain and realizing it in an artificial system. A physiological research study based on electromyographic signals (Honda, 1996) suggested that speech communication in human brain might be based on a topological mapping between speech production and perception, according to an analogous topology between motor and sensory representations. Following this hypothesis, this study first investigated the topologies of the vowel system across the motor, kinematic, and acoustic spaces by means of a model simulation, and then examined the linkage between vowel production and perception in terms of a transformed auditory feedback (TAF) experiment. The model simulation indicated that there exists an invariant mapping from muscle activations (motor space) to articulations (kinematic space) via a coordinate consisting of force-dependent equilibrium positions, and the mapping from the motor space to kinematic space is unique. The motor-kinematic-acoustic deduction in the model simulation showed that the topologies were compatible from one space to another. In the TAF experiment, vowel production exhibited a compensatory response for a perturbation in the feedback sound. This implied that vowel production is controlled in reference to perception monitoring.展开更多

We begin from the discussion of the pros and cons of several material platforms for engineering quantum photonic chips. Then we introduce and analyze the basic building blocks and functional units of quantum photonic integrated circuits. In the main part of this review, we focus on the generation and manipulation of quantum states of light on chip and are particularly interested in some applications of advanced integrated circuits with different functionalities for quantum information processing, including quantum communication, quantum computing, and quantum simulation. We emphasize that developing fully integrated quantum photonic chip which contains sources of quantum light, integrate circuits, modulators, quantum storage, and detectors are promising approaches for future quantum photonic technologies. Recent achievements in the large scale photonic chips for linear optical computing are also included. Finally, we illustrate the challenges toward high performance quantum information processing devices and conclude with promising perspectives in this field.展开更多

Characterized by networking,digitization,and intellectualization,the new generation of Information and Communication Technologies(ICTs)has promoted integration of various national economic industries,with a more signi...Characterized by networking,digitization,and intellectualization,the new generation of Information and Communication Technologies(ICTs)has promoted integration of various national economic industries,with a more significant leading role in the socio-economic development.In order to describe the influence of ICT industries on economic growth,this paper has comprehensively analyzed the contribution mechanism of ICTs to current economy.Crucial indicators,such as Total Telecommunications Business(TTB),Data Traffic(DT),and Computing Power Development Index(CPDI),have been innovatively selected to sufficiently describe the data circulation scale and the processing capacity in the era of digital economy.Based on relevant statistics of 31 provinces(municipalities or autonomous regions)in China from 2011 to 2020,quantitative results have been put forward to interpret the impact of ICT industries on the national economy development by using correlation coefficient analysis and data regression analysis methods.The measurement results show that TTB,DT,and CPDI are positively correlated with the national economic development,indicating that each 1%increasement of TTB,DT,and CPDI increases Gross Domestic Product(GDP)by 0.08%,0.09%,and 0.6%,respectively.展开更多

This is accomplished by using cross-country time-series data for a total of 70 developed and developing countries for the period from 2003 to 2008. The study reveals that the existence of causality and its direction differ across different income-group of countries and over the number of lags included. ICT investment expenditure as a percentage of GDP appears to cause the rate of growth of GDP per capita for the high income group and all income groups combined with lags higher than one year. However, for the upper- and lower-middle income groups, the study detects causality in neither direction. Also, when only one lag is included, the study suggests no causality in either direction for any of the income-groups of countries.展开更多

We emphasize that developing fully integrated quantum photonic chip which contains sources of quantum light, integrate circuits, modulators, quantum storage, and detectors are promising approaches for future quantum photonic technologies. Recent achievements in the large scale photonic chips for linear optical computing are also included. Finally, we illustrate the challenges toward high performance quantum information processing devices and conclude with promising perspectives in this field.

Those scientists who really dedicate themselves to science and loving science more than anything else can become its member. In the friendly door-opened Institute, they can maximize their time and energy to engage in their scientific creativity. They have also believed that science would be more truthful and wonderful if scientists do not have to spend a lot of time on funding application, and that great scientific findings and creations in history were often made by those who were least supported or funded but driven by interesting imagination and curiosity. Recollected in this review article is its establishing and developing processes, as well as its philosophy and accomplishments. Particularly, its productive and by-productive outcomes have covered the following five very hot topics in bioinformatics and drug development: 1) PseAAC and PseKNC;2) Disported key theory;3) Wenxiang diagram;4) Multi-label system prediction;5) 5-steps rule. Their impacts on the proteomics and genomics as well as drug development are substantially and awesome.
文摘The necessity of lowering the mean power consumption of various facilities, due to the lack of their enormous future energy needs, led to an ongoing advance of various technologies. These technologies have been oriented towards the concept of a Reduced Ecological Footprint. Massive structures (such as building complexes and hospitals) have been redesigned and upgraded;many interior designs have been dramatically altered while new electronic devices are constantly being produced in order to revolutionize a long term perspective towards a “Green Planet” while they exhibit astonishing signal processing. Consequently, an enormous technology already exists which needs to be properly combined to a proposed methodology and to new ideas relevant to systems’ administration through automatic wireless control. This paper intends to reduce the gap between design and realization of the aforementioned research. Consequently, the primary contribution of this research is the proposal of a complete design protocol with minimized defects relevant to Reduced Ecological Footprints of Facilities (REFF) along with its beneficial advantages relevant to providing a healthy and productive work environment. This protocol consists of four main parts which are 1) the main key points-guidelines, 2) its objectives, 3) the know-how methodology for implementation in existing installations and 4) the description of the imminent benefits in workforce/human resources.

For example, network communication requires Android’s network request technology and data analysis technology. The display of pictures requires the use of Android controls and cache technology. The traceability of products requires camera scanning technology. And RSA decryption technology and so on. Through the above thread pool technology and the use of caching mechanism, the user experience of UI will be improved and unnecessary network resources consumption will be avoided.
文摘Characterized by networking,digitization,and intellectualization,the new generation of Information and Communication Technologies(ICTs)has promoted integration of various national economic industries,with a more significant leading role in the socio-economic development.In order to describe the influence of ICT industries on economic growth,this paper has comprehensively analyzed the contribution mechanism of ICTs to current economy.Crucial indicators,such as Total Telecommunications Business(TTB),Data Traffic(DT),and Computing Power Development Index(CPDI),have been innovatively selected to sufficiently describe the data circulation scale and the processing capacity in the era of digital economy.Based on relevant statistics of 31 provinces(municipalities or autonomous regions)in China from 2011 to 2020,quantitative results have been put forward to interpret the impact of ICT industries on the national economy development by using correlation coefficient analysis and data regression analysis methods.The measurement results show that TTB,DT,and CPDI are positively correlated with the national economic development,indicating that each 1%increasement of TTB,DT,and CPDI increases Gross Domestic Product(GDP)by 0.08%,0.09%,and 0.6%,respectively.
文摘This paper applies the Pairwise Panel Granger Causality test to examine the relationship between ICT (information and communication technology) expenditure and the rate of growth of GDP (gross domestic product) per capita. This is accomplished by using cross-country time-series data for a total of 70 developed and developing countries for the period from 2003 to 2008. The study reveals that the existence of causality and its direction differ across different income-group of countries and over the number of lags included. ICT investment expenditure as a percentage of GDP appears to cause the rate of growth of GDP per capita for the high income group and all income groups combined with lags higher than one year. However, for the upper- and lower-middle income groups, the study detects causality in neither direction. Also, when only one lag is included, the study suggests no causality in either direction for any of the income-groups of countries.
文摘Project management literature provides various approaches to organize project management.Simultaneously,several factors influence product development about its efficiency and effectiveness.This paper analyses the factors that affect product development and evaluates their integration level in project management concerning modern requirements imposed in a volatile,uncertain,complex,and ambiguous(VUCA)environment.It concludes by identifying undervalued influencing factors worth investigating in future research.
