Based on the adaptive control method, a kind of parameter adjustor was used to control pneumatic rotary actuator to track the expected output. The system uses electropneumatic proportional valve as control device, which adjusts the gas flow of actuator 's two cavities, then changes the pressure of cavity and pushes the piston of actuator to move, so the rotary actuator 's axis can be made to revolve to the required angle at last. According to the characteristic of pneumatic system, the control system was described with a fourth-order mathematic model. The control rule is deduced by model reference adaptive control method. By the result of experiment, it was proved that by using the adaptive control method, the output of rotary actuator could track the expected value timely and accurately. 展开更多

To hit stationary ground targets in specified direction, a nonlinear impact angle control guidance law based on Lyapunov stability theory is proposed. The proposed law ensures the convergence of the heading angle and the miss distance to guarantee a successful engagement. The impact angle can be adjusted by varying a single parameter. And the maximum value of acceleration has been analyzed to get the proper range for control parameter. Considering the achievable impact angle set is limited, an additional phase is added to form a two-phase control strategy.The first phase is to establish a proper initial condition for the second phase, and the second phase is to hit the target with a certain impact angle. An analysis of the proper selection of control parameters to expand the achievable impact angle set is presented. The performance of the proposed guidance law is illustrated with simulations. 展开更多

Pneumatic rotary actuator angle servo-system uses electropneumatic proportional valve as control device, which changes the pressure of cavity and then pushes the actuator to revolve to the expected position. Using intelligent PID control algorithm, several special methods were put forward to overcome the connatural shortcomings of pneumatic system and make the rotary actuator track the expected value timely and accurately. Experimental results have shown that by using this intelligent algorithm, the performance index of system was improved greatly. 展开更多

In this paper, a novel fuzzy sliding mode control(FSMC) guidance law with terminal constraints of miss distance, impact angle and acceleration is presented for a constant speed missile against the stationary or slowly moving target. The proposed guidance law combines the sliding mode control algorithm with a fuzzy logic control scheme for the lag-free system and the first-order lag system. Through using Lyapunov stability theory, we prove the sliding surface converges to zero in finite time. Furthermore, considering the uncertain information and system disturbances, the guidance gains are on-line optimized by fuzzy logic technique. Numerical simulations are performed to demonstrate the performance of the FSMC guidance law and the results illustrate the validity and effectiveness of the proposed guidance law. 展开更多

Nose micro-blowing for asymmetric vortices control on blunt-nose slender body at high angle of attack

Pressure measurement an... The asymmetric vortices over blunt-nose slender body at high angles of attack result in random side force. In this paper, a nose micro-blowing technology is used to control the asymmetric flow. Pressure measurement and particle image velocimetry (PIV) experiments are conducted in a low-speed wind tunnel to research effects of jet flow rate on asymmetric vortices over blunt-nose slender body. The angle of attack of the model is fixed at 50° and the Reynolds number for the experiments is 1.6× 105 based on diameter of aftbody. A blow hole (5 mm in diameter) on the nose is processed at circumferential angle θb = 90° and meridian angleγb = 20° with jet momentum ratio Cμ ranging from 5.30× 10-7 to 1.19 × 10-4. Tests are made under two kinds of perturbations. One is called single perturbation with only blow hole and the other is called combined perturbation consists of blow hole and additional granules set on nose. The results show that whether the model has the single perturbation or the combined one, the sectional side force ofx/D = 3 varies in the same direction with the increasement of Cμ and remains stable when Cμ is greater than 3.29× 10- 6. But the stable force values are different according to various perturbations. The fact proves that the size and direction of the side force of blunt-nose slender body can be controlled by the nose micro-blowing. 展开更多

As wind energy is becoming one of the fastestgrowing renewable energy resources,controlling large-scale wind turbines remains a challenging task due to its system model nonlinearities and high external uncertainties.The main goal of the current work is to propose an intelligent control of the wind turbine system without the need for model identification.For this purpose,a novel model-independent nonsingular terminal slidingmode control(MINTSMC)using the basic principles of the ultralocal model(ULM)and combined with the single input interval type-2 fuzzy logic control(SIT2-FLC)is developed for non-linear wind turbine pitch angle control.In the suggested control framework,the MINTSMC scheme is designed to regulate the wind turbine speed rotor,and a sliding-mode(SM)observer is adopted to estimate the unknown phenomena of the ULM.The auxiliary SIT2-FLC is added in the model-independent control structure to improve the rotor speed regulation and compensate for the SM observation estimation error.Extensive examinations and comparative analyses were made using a real-time softwarein-the-loop(RT-SiL)based on the dSPACE 1202 board to appraise the efficiency and applicability of the suggested modelindependent scheme in a real-time testbed. 展开更多

Strong asymmetrical vortices appear on the leeward of slender body at high angles of attack, which has very unfavorable effect on the stability and control of the aircraft. A method is developed to control the side force of slender body at high angles of attack, and is verified in wind tunnel. A thin-film triangular self-excited oscillation flag is fixed at the tip of the slender body model whose semi-apex angle is 10°. Side force is approximately linearly proportional to roll-setting angle of self-excited oscillation flag at high angles of attack, and the slop of fitting straight line obtained by the least square method is -0.158. The linear relationship between side force and roU-setting angle provides convenience for developing side force control law of slender body at high angles of attack. Experimental data shows that the side force coefficients vary linearly with roll-setting angles when a specific plastic self-excited oscillation flag is used as the control flag. The range of side force coefficient and roll-setting angle are, respectively, -3.2 to 3.0 and -20° to 20°. The device is simple, effective, and is of great potential in engineering application. 展开更多

In addition to the traditional LQ cost function, another free form cost function was introduced to express the physical need plainly and optimize weights of LQ cost function using the search algorithms. As an instance, DLQR was applied in determining the control input in the front steering angle compensation control (FSAC) model for heavy duty vehicles. The brief simulations show that DLQR is powerful enough to specify the engineering requirements correctly and balance many factors effectively. The concept and applicable field of LQR are expanded by DLQR to optimize the system with a free form cost function. 展开更多

A space laser communication acquisition,pointing and tracking(APT)system based on the beacon laser is designed without prior information.And then,a new target scanning method and a pointing and tracking algorithm are proposed.The target scanning mode is the round-trip triangular wave scanning,and it means that scanning track of the PAN-TILT platform follows the triangular wave repeatedly.For the pointing and tracking algorithm,the beacon laser is used as the auxiliary aiming light source.The position of the beacon laser in the viewfield of the complementary metal oxide semiconductor(CMOS)camera is calculated by the centroid algorithm.In order to realize the target tracking,the joint control method of the angle control and the angular velocity control is used.The simulation and experimental results show that the APT system can achieve full coverage scanning in the scanning area and capture the target in one scanning cycle successfully.After capturing the PAN-TILT platform,the pointing and tracking algorithm can track the PAN-TILT platform quickly and accurately,and the tracking accuracy is up to 0.22 mrad. 展开更多

First a flexible and rapid standardized method for footprint generation is developed. Zero bank angle control strategy and the maximum crossrange method are used to obtain virtual target set; afterward, closed-loop bank angle guidance law is used to find footprint by solving closest approach problem for each element in virtual target set. Then based on quasi-equilibrium glide condition, the typical inequality reentry trajectory constraints are converted to angle of attack lower boundary constraint. Constrained by the lower boundary, an original and practical angle of attack parametric method is proposed. By using parametric angle of attack profile, optimization algorithm for angle of attack is designed and the impact of angle of attack to footprint is discussed. Simulations with different angle of attack profiles are presented to demonstrate the performance of the proposed footprint solution method and validity of optimal algorithm. 展开更多

The hybrid-HVDC topology,which consists of line-commutated-converter(LCC)and voltage source converter(VSC)and combines their advantages,has extensive application prospects.A hybrid-HVDC system,adopting VSC on rectifier side and LCC on inverter side,is investigated,and its mathematic model is deduced.The commutation failure issue of the LCC converter in the hybrid-HVDC system is considered,and a novel coordinated control method is proposed to enhance the system commutation failure immunity.A voltage dependent voltage order limiter(VDVOL)is designed based on the constant DC voltage control on the rectifier side,and constant extinction angle backup control is introduced based on the constant DC current control with voltage dependent current order limiter(VDCOL)on the inverter side.The hybrid-HVDC system performances under normal operation state and fault state are simulated in the PSCAD/EMTDC.Then,system transient state performances with or without the proposed control methods under fault condition are further compared and analyzed.It is concluded that the proposed control method has the ability to effectively reduce the probability of commutation failure and improve the fault recovery performance of the hybrid-HVDC system. 展开更多

Firstly, the impact time control problem is formulated as tracking the designated time-to-go (the difference between the designated impact time and the current flight time) for the actual time-to-go of missile, and the impact angle control problem is formulated as tracking the designated heading angle for the actual heading angle of missile. Secondly, a biased proportional navigation guidance (BPNG) law with designated heading angle constraint is constructed, and the actual time-to-go estimation for this BPNG is derived analytically by solving the system differential equations. Thirdly, by adding a feedback control to this constructed BPNG to eliminate the time-to-go errorthe difference between the standard time-to-go and the actual time-to-go, a guidance law with adjustable coefficients to control the impact time and impact angle simultaneously is developed. This study presents a fixed-time convergence guidance scheme for impact time and angle control.First,two improved fixed-time stable systems are presented,which have smaller initial control command and better terminal convergence.16 An improved fixed-time extended state observer is proposed to provide accurate estimation of system states and disturbance,which effectively solves peaking value problem.Furthermore,an improved fixed-time sliding mode controller is derived,which avoids the singular problem and achieves faster convergence rate with smaller initial control command.Second,a new guidance scheme with impact angle and impact time constraints is proposed for intercepting a stationary target.By introducing a virtual target,the guidance process is divided into two stages.The proposed fixed-time controller is employed in the first stage.The method with a virtual leader ensures that the missile intercept the virtual target with desired line-of-sight angles at a specific time.By using the proportional navigation guidance law,the missile keeps travelling with desired flight-path angles to hit the real target in the second stage,17 so as to achieve the impact time and angle control.Finally,the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed guidance scheme in different engagement scenarios are verified by numerical simulations with comparisons. 展开更多

These devices are very important due to their role in power delivery system enhancement. It is to be noted that the generation companies can exercise their market power which depends on the line flows, line constraints, generators' location and its share to the individual loads. This issue cannot be overlooked as it creates monopoliness which is against the deregulated market policy. The objective of this paper is to study the impact of market power when FACTS devices like thyristor controlled switching capacitor (TCSC) and thyristor controlled phase angle regulator (TCPAR) are used under steady state operation. The market power is determined using nodal must-run share (NMRS) index for the standard IEEE 14- bus system with and without the above FACTS devices and the results obtained are compared.
