The large surface-area-to-volume ratio and internal surface areas endow two-dimensional(2D) materials with high mobility and high energy density; therefore, 2D materials are very promising candidates for Li ion batteries and supercapacitors with comprehensive investigations. In 2011, a new kind of 2D transition metal carbides, nitrides and carbonitrides, MXene, were successfully obtained from MAX phases. Since then about 20 different kinds of MXene have been prepared. Other precursors besides MAX phases and even other methods such as chemical vapor deposition(CVD) were also applied to prepare MXene, opening new doors for the preparation of new MXene. Their 2D nature and good electronic properties ensure the inherent advantages as electrode materials for electrochemical energy storage. In this review, we summarize the recent progress in the development of MXene with emphasis on the applications to electrochemical energy storage. Also, future perspective and challenges of MXene-based materials are briefly discussed regrading electrochemical energy storage.展开更多

Then, this composite was used in the Trombe wall to improve its energy storage ability. Further, its energy storage ability was compared to that of ordinary concrete wall through contrastive test. The experiments show that palygorskite clay is a type of clay mineral with strong adsorption ability, and the purity of natural palygorskite clay can reach up to 97.1% after certain purification processes. Paraffin is well adsorbed by palygorskite, and the test results show that the optimal adsorption ratio is palygorskite: paraffin = 2:1(mass ratio). Palygorskite/paraffin phase change composites can be obtained by using palygorskite as the adsorbing medium to adsorb paraffin. The composite materials exhibit good heat storage(release) performance, which can store heat with increasing environment temperature and release heat with decreasing temperature. This property not only increases the inertia to environment temperature change, but also promotes the energy migration in different time and space, thus achieving a certain energy-saving effect. The application of palygorskite/paraffin phase change composite materials to the Trombe wall can significantly reduce the fluctuation of indoor temperature and enhance the thermal inertia of indoor environment. From the aspect of energy storage effect, the Trombe wall fabricated using PCMs is significantly superior to the concrete wall with the same thickness.展开更多

文摘Lignocellulosic biomass has attracted great interest in recent years for energy production due to its renewability and carbon-neutral nature. There are various ways to convert lignocellulose to gaseous, liquid and solid fuels via thermochemical, chemical or biological approaches.Typical biomass derived fuels include syngas,bio-gas,bio-oil,bioethanol and biochar, all of which could be used as fuels for furnace, engine, turbine or fuel cells.Direct biomass fuel cells mediated by various electron carriers provide a new direction of lignocellulose conversion.Various metal and non-metal based carriers have been screened for mediating the electron transfer from biomass to oxygen thus generating electricity. The power density of direct biomass fuel cells can be over 100 mW cm^(-2),which shows promise for practical applications.Lignocellulose and its isolated components, primarily cellulose and lignin, have also been paid considerable attention as sustainable carbonaceous materials for preparation of electrodes for supercapacitors,lithium-ion batteries and lithium-sulfur batteries. In this paper,we have provided a state-of-the-art review on the research progress of lignocellulosic biomass as feedstock and materials for power generation and energy storage focusing on the chemistry aspects of the processes. It was recommended that process integration should be performed to reduce the cost for thermochemical and biological conversion of lignocellulose to biofuels, while efforts should be made to increase efficiency and improve the properties for biomass fuelled fuel cells and biomass derived electrodes for energy storage.

文摘Rechargeable batteries and supercapacitors are widely investigated as the most important electrochemical energy storage devices nowadays due to the booming energy demand for electric vehicles and hand-held electronics. Also, future perspective and challenges of MXene-based materials are briefly discussed regrading electrochemical energy storage.

文摘Mica was used as a supporting matrix for composite phase change materials(PCMs)in this work because of its distinctive morphology and structure.Composite PCMs were prepared using the vacuum impregnation method,in which mica served as the supporting material and polyethylene glycol(PEG)served as the PCM.Fourier transform infrared and X-ray diffraction analysis confirmed that the addition of PEG had no effect on the crystal structure of mica. Moreover,no chemical reaction occurred between PEG and mica during the vacuum impregnation process, and no new substance was formed. The maximum load of mica-stabilized PEG was 46.24%,the phase change temperature of M_(400)/PEG was 46.03℃,and the latent heat values of melting and cooling were 77.75 and 77.73 J·g^(−1),respectively.The thermal conductivity of M_(400)/PEG was 2.4 times that of pure PEG.The thermal infrared images indicated that the thermal response of M_(400)/PEG improved relative to that of pure PEG.The leakage test confirmed that mica could stabilize PEG and that M_(400)/PEG had great form-stabilized property. These results demonstrate that M_(400)/PEG has potential in the field of building energy conservation.

文摘Developing advanced nanocomposite integrating solar-driven thermal energy storage and thermal management functional microwave absorption can facilitate the cutting-edge application of phase change materials(PCMs).To conquer this goal,herein,two-dimensional MoS_(2) nanosheets are grown in situ on the surface of one-dimensional CNTs to prepare core-sheath MoS_(2)@CNTs for the encapsulation of paraffin wax(PW).Benefiting from the synergistic enhancement photothermal effect of MoS_(2) and CNTs,MoS_(2)@CNTs is capable of efficiently trapping photons and quickly transporting phonons, thus yielding a high solar-thermal energy conversion and storage efficiency of 94.97%.Meanwhile,PW/MoS_(2)@CNTs composite PCMs exhibit a high phase change enthalpy of 101.60 J/g and excellent lo ng-term thermal storage durability after undergoing multiple heating-cooling cycles.More attractively,PW/MoS_(2)@CNTs composite PCMs realize thermal management functional microwave absorption in heat-related electronic application scenarios, which is superior to the single microwave absorption of traditional materials. The minimum reflection loss(RL) for PW/MoS_(2)@CNTs is-28 dB at 12.91 GHz with a 2.0 mm thickness. This functional integration design provides some insightful references on developing advanced microwave absorbing composite PCMs,holding great potential towards high-efficiency solar energy utilization and thermally managed microwave absorption fields.

文摘Metal-organic frameworks(MOFs)are of quite a significance in the field of inorganic-organic hybrid crystals.Especially,MOFs have attracted increasing attention in recent years due to their large specific surface area, desirable electrical conductivity, controllable porosity, tunable geometric structure, and excellent thermal/chemical stability. Some recent studies have shown that carbon materials prepared by MOFs as precursors can retain the privileged structure of MOFs,such as large specific surface area and porous structure and,in contrast, realize in situ doping with heteroatoms(eg,N,S,P,and B).Moreover,by selecting appropriate MOF precursors, the composition and morphology of the carbon products can be easily adjusted. These remarkable structural advantages enable the great potential of MOF-derived carbon as high-performance energy materials, which to date have been applied in the fields of energy storage and conversion systems. In this review,we summarize the latest advances in MOF-derived carbon materials for energy storage applications. We first introduce the compositions, structures, and synthesis methods of MOF-derived carbon materials, and then discuss their applications and potentials in energy storage systems, including rechargeable lithium/sodium-ion batteries,lithium-sulfur batteries, supercapacitors, and so forth,in detail. Finally,we put forward our own perspectives on the future development of MOF-derived carbon materials.
文摘Paraffin/γ-Al2O3 composites as phase change energy storage materials were prepared by absorbing paraffin in porous network of γ-Al2O3.In the composite materials, paraffin was used as a phase change material(PCM)for thermal energy storage, and γ-Al2O3 acted as supporting materials.Characterizations were conducted to evaluate the energy storage performance of the composites, and differential scanning calorimeter results showed that the PCM-3 composite has melting latent heat of 112.9 kJ/kg with a melting temperature of 62.9 ℃.Due to strong capillary force and surface tension between paraffin and γ-Al2O3,the leakage of melted paraffin from the composites can be effectively prevented. Therefore, the paraffin/γ-Al2O3 composites have a good thermal stability and can be used repeatedly.

文摘Wearable energy storage devices are desirable to boost the rapid development of flexible and stretchable electronics. Two-dimensional (2D) materials, e.g., graphene, transition metal dichalcogenides and oxides, and MXenes, have attracted intensive attention for flexible energy storage applications because of their ultrathin 2D structures, high surface-to-volume ratio, and unique physical/chemical properties. To achieve commercialization of 2D material-based wearable energy storage devices (2DM-WESDs), scalable and cost-efficient manufacturing is a critical challenge. In this review, first, a brief introduction of exfoliation and solution preparation of 2D material species from bulk materials is discussed. Then, the solution-based assembly strategies are summarized, and the advantages and disadvantages of each method are compared. After that, two major categories of 2DM-WESDs, supercapacitor and battery, are discussed, emphasizing their state-of-the-art energy storage performances and flexibilities. Finally, insights and perspectives on current challenges and future opportunities regarding the solution assembly of 2DM-WESDs are discussed.
文摘Phase change materials are one of the potential resources to replace fossil fuels in regards of supplying the energy of buildings.Basically, these materials absorb or release heat energy with the help of their latent heat.Phase change materials have low thermal conductivity and this makes it possible to use the physical properties of these materials in the tropical regions where the solar radiation is more direct and concentrated over a smaller area.In this theoretical work,an attempt has been made to study the melting process of these materials by applying constant heat flux and temperature. It was found that by increasing the thickness of phase change materials’layers, due to the melting, more thermal energy is stored.Simultaneously it reduces the penetration of excessive heat into the chamber,so that by increasing the thickness of paraffin materials up to 20 mm,the rate of temperature reduction reaches more than 18%.It was also recognized that increasing the values of constant input heat flux increases buoyancy effects.Increasing the Stefan number from 0.1 to 0.3,increases the temperature by 6%.
文摘Graphene, a single layer of graphite, has been one of the first real two dimensional (2D) materials isolated in 2004. Thus, graphene is becoming a cutting edge material that opens up new horizons to a whole family of 2D materials beyond the limited current applicability of graphene. The unique advantages of graphene and analogue 2D materials, such as atomic-scale thickness, high specific surface area, mechanically flexible robustness, superior storage capacity, endow them as high-performance electrodes lbr electrochemical energy storage devices. Although it is hard to say whether or not graphene and 2D materials will be implemented in future energy technologies, the recent achievements in this field demonstrate that their roles will be noticeable in the near future.

文摘So far,a clear understanding about the relationship of variable energy band structure with the corresponding charge-discharge process of energy storage materials is still lacking. Here, using optical spectroscopy(red-green-blue(RGB)value,reflectivity,transmittance,UV-vis,XPS,UPS)to studyα-Co(OH)_(2) electrode working in KOH electrolyte as the research object,we provide direct experimental evidence that:(1)The intercalation of OH-ions will reduce the valence/conduction band(VB and CB)and band gap energy(Eg)values;(2)The deintercalation of OH-ions corresponds with the reversion of VB,CB and E_(g) to the initial values;(3)The color of Co(OH)_(2) electrode also exhibit regular variations in RGB value during the charge-discharge process.
文摘Thermal energy storage(TES) is of great importance in solving the mismatch between energy production and consumption. In this regard, choosing type of Phase Change Materials(PCMs) which are widely used to control heat in latent thermal energy storage systems, plays a vital role as a means of TES efficiency. However, this field suffers from lack of a comprehensive investigation on the impact of various PCMs in terms of exergy. To address this issue,in this study,in addition to indicating the melting temperature and latent heat of various PCMs,the exergy destruction and exergy efficiency of each material are estimated and compared with each other. Moreover,in the present work the impact of PCMs mass and ambient temperature on the exergy efficiency is evaluated. The results proved that higher latent heat does not necessarily lead to higher exergy efficiency.Furthermore,to obtain a suitable exergy efficiency, the specific heat capacity and melting temperature of the PCMs must also be considered.According to the results,LiF-CaF_(2)(80.5%:19.5%,mass ratio) mixture led to better performance with satisfactory exergy efficiency(98.84%) and notably lower required mass compared to other PCMs.Additionally, the highest and lowest exergy destruction are belonged to GR25 and LiF-CaF_(2)(80.5:19.5) mixture, respectively.

文摘Palygorskite/paraffin phase-change composites were prepared by the combination of purified palygorskite clay and sliced paraffin. From the aspect of energy storage effect, the Trombe wall fabricated using PCMs is significantly superior to the concrete wall with the same thickness.
