BACKGROUND Regarding the incidence of malignant tumors in China,the incidence of liver cancer ranks fourth,second only to lung,gastric,and esophageal cancers.The case fatality rate ranks third after lung and cervical ...BACKGROUND Regarding the incidence of malignant tumors in China,the incidence of liver cancer ranks fourth,second only to lung,gastric,and esophageal cancers.The case fatality rate ranks third after lung and cervical cancer.In a previous study,the whole-process management model was applied to patients with breast cancer,which effectively reduced their negative emotions and improved treatment adherence and nursing satisfaction.METHODS In this single-center,randomized,controlled study,60 randomly selected patients with liver cancer who had been admitted to our hospital from January 2021 to January 2022 were randomly divided into an observation group(n=30),who received whole-process case management on the basis of routine nursing mea-sures,and a control group(n=30),who were given routine nursing measures.We compared differences between the two groups in terms of anxiety,depression,the level of hope,self-care ability,symptom distress,sleep quality,and quality of life.RESULTS Post-intervention,Hamilton anxiety scale,Hamilton depression scale,memory symptom assessment scale,and Pittsburgh sleep quality index scores in both groups were lower than those pre-intervention,and the observation group had lower scores than the control group(P<0.05).Herth hope index,self-care ability assessment scale-revision in Chinese,and quality of life measurement scale for patients with liver cancer scores in both groups were higher than those pre-intervention,with higher scores in the observation group compared with the control group(P<0.05).CONCLUSION Whole-process case management can effectively reduce anxiety and depression in patients with liver cancer,alleviate symptoms and problems,and improve the level of hope,self-care ability,sleep quality,and quality of life,as well as provide feasible nursing alternatives for patients with liver cancer.展开更多

However, under the influence of long-term examination-oriented education, college students are only content with the courses required now which leads to the lack of large scope of expertise and ability to solve practical problems, being narrow-minded, and having poor flexibility, creativity and manipulative ability. Studies have shown that accidents caused by human error account for 70-80% of the total number of accidents,and are the primary cause of casualties.In order to reduce the risk of safety accidents and reduce the human-...Studies have shown that accidents caused by human error account for 70-80% of the total number of accidents,and are the primary cause of casualties.In order to reduce the risk of safety accidents and reduce the human-caused accident rate,the evaluation index of safety occupational adaptability of coal excavation workers has been studied.Questionnaire survey method was used to conduct 13 physical and psychological abilities tests on 50 coal tunneling workers,and select the core ability indicators that reflect the mental load of the workers and the individual priority allocation of psychological resources.Secondly,using the Delphi method and the quartile method,the opinions of 20 experts in related fields were sought anonymously,and the main physical and mental ability indicators were screened and filtered through scoring methods.Finally,six indicators of"accuracy,attention,rapid response ability,proficiency,judgment,and foresight" were determined as the main physical and psychological indicators of coal tunneling workers.This study fills up the gap of safety occupational adaptability in the field of mining construction,and has important theoretical value and practical significance.展开更多
Objectives:lnterprofessional collaboration in the training of nursing and psychology students helps provide students of both disciplines with the ability and competences they need to best attend to their patients.This...Objectives:lnterprofessional collaboration in the training of nursing and psychology students helps provide students of both disciplines with the ability and competences they need to best attend to their patients.This study implemented and analyzed a method for developing the competences of each discipline in a scenario of joint clinical simulation that incorporates mental and physical health simultaneously,and measured the caring ability of the participating students.Methods:Participants took a self-applied survey measuring their own caring ability.After,a clinical simulation was performed where nursing students performed clinical interviews on psychology students,who acted as standardized patients.Caring abilities were measured in the nursing students,and the psychology students implemented an intervention service measuring caring ability and brief-debrief simulation by coaching to nursing students.Results:The results indicated that the self-applied questionnaire of caring ability resulted in scores significantly higher than what was measured by observers.Conclusions:The results contribute to the development of protocols,training and collaborative work practices in interprofessional education,which allow the scaling of these competences.展开更多
