Viral infections like Herpes simplex increasingly pose a serious threat to European health care systems and welfare of the population. Indirect transmission routes of infections via inanimate surfaces are often underestimated. In this study, we investigated the adhesion and persistence of Herpes simplex virus on cotton fabrics as well as its inactivation by domestic laundry. Virus adhesion to textile fibers was distinct, because viral DNA was detectable on fabrics for at least 48 hours after contamination as well as after home laundry. Particles remained infectious for several hours at room temperature and partially for 48 hours at 2℃ - 8℃. Nevertheless, domestic laundry was able to inactivate virus particles given that detergents were adequately used. This confirmed that standard household laundry processes, as established in Europe, are a suitable tool to reduce infectious Herpes virus particles from textiles, thereby supporting the prevention of infections circulating in the household and community. 展开更多

For the business washing machine industry, most are currently using traditional manual service (the way cost is high, inefficient, low degree of intelligence) of the status quo. The wireless intelligent business laundry service system based on ESP8266 communication module is developed, which has the Wechat payment function and realizes the automatic control service of the washing machine. Firstly, the laundry wireless terminal will send a laundry request to the laundry control center when the customer is ready to wash. Secondly, after receiving the laundry request, control center will send WeChat Public Accounts, idle washing machine number and charges, as well as laundry service time and other information back to the wireless terminal to generate payment QR code. And then the customer scans QR code, when the control center receives the information that payment is successful, the system will automatically control the washing machine to complete the laundry service work. After testing, the system has the advantages of accurate control, low energy consumption, strong stability, accurate data transmission, low cost, strong practicability, and is conducive to promoting the development of the business laundry industry. 展开更多

The present study describes the characterization of crude protease extract from Arthrobacter arilaitensis Re117 and its evaluation in solid and liquid detergent. One caseinolytic protease clear band was observed in zymogram. The crude alkaline protease showed optimum activity at pH 9.0 and 50&degC, and it was highly stable over a wide range of pH from 8.0 to 9.0. Proteolytic enzymes showed extreme stability towards non-ionic surfactants (Tween 80, Tween 20 and Triton X-100) and stimulate activity towards oxidizing agents such as sodium perborate. They also showed high stability and compatibility with various laundry solid detergents from Tunisian market. The protease of A. arilaitensis Re117, was also tested for shrimp waste deproteinization to produce chitin. The protein removal with a ratio E/S of 20 was about 83%. The novelties of the Re117 protease include its high stability to organic solvents and surfactants. These unique properties make it an ideal choice for application in detergent formulations and enzymatic peptide synthesis. In addition, the enzyme may find potential applications in the deproteinization of shrimp wastes to produce chitin. 展开更多

Chemical substances present in discharge water generated by laundry industry:Analytical monitoring

To our knowledge,precise data concerning the pollution in terms of qualitative and quantitative fluctuations in discharge water from the laundry sector have seldom been reported.This study investigated the chemical composition of the discharge water from a laundry industry.Over 160 chemical substances and 15 standard water parameters were monitored.The results showed that the discharge water presented both inorganic and organic polycontamination with a high degree of qualitative and quantitative variability.However,of all monitored substances,only five metals(Al,Cu,Fe,Sr,and Zn),five minerals(P,Ca,K,Na,and S),and alkylphenols were systematically present and quantifiable.For a daily average water flow of 129 m^(3),the released metal flux was 356 g/d.Substances,such as trichloromethane,brominated diphenyl ether(BDE)47,and fluorides,were occasionally found and quantified.Other substances,such as chlorophenols,organo-tins,and pesticides were never identified.All the samples had quantifiable levels in the chemical oxygen demand(COD),biological oxygen demand(BOD),and hydrocarbons.Only the concentrations of Zn(8.3 g/d),Cu(21.4 g/d),and BOD(57.4 g/d)were close to or above the regulatory values:74.0 g/d for Zn,9.0 g/d for Cu,and 57.0 kg/d for BOD.The data obtained from this study are useful to the choice of additional treatments for the reduction of pollutant fluxes. 展开更多

[Objective] This study was conducted to investigate the effect of laundry wastewater on the quality of river water and the dilution purification effect of river water on laundry wastewater. [Method] The effects of laundry wastewater on the contents of total nitrogen(TN), total phosphorus(TP), suspended solids(SS), chemical oxygen demand(COD) and linear alkylbenzene sulfonic acid(LAS) were studied in 7 rivers of Shaoxing City. [Result](1) The contents of TN, TP, SS, COD and LAS increased by 92%, 99%, 340%, 351% and 923%, respectively, at the discharging moment of laundry wastewater; and(2) the five pollutional indexes significantly decreased over time, and especially 2 h after the discharge of laundry wastewater, compared with former the discharge of laundry wastewater, the contents of TN, TP, COD and LAS increased by 6%, 11%, 9% and13%, respectively,while the contents of SS still increased by 76%, i.e., SS required a longer time to achieve self-purification. [Conclusion] Laundry wastewater has some influence on thequality of river water, and the self-purification function of river water could effectively remove pollutants. 展开更多

In the formulation development of laundry gel beads,4,4-dichloro-2-hydroxydiphenyl ether(HP-100)was used as a bacteriostatic agent,and the effect of HP-100 dosage on the bacteriostatic rate of laundry gel bead samples with different formulation systems was examined by the suspension quantification method;the long-lasting bacteriostatic performance of laundry gel bead samples added with HP-100 was investigated by the absorption method for evaluating the antimicrobial performance of textiles;the effect of HP-100 on the odor control of laundry gel bead samples was investigated by filling out surveys and questionnaires using the actual measurement method.Questionnaire was used to investigate the effect of HP-100 on odor control.The test results showed that the antibacterial rate of the two laundry gel samples against S.aureus increased with the increase of HP-100 dosage,and the antibacterial rate of Formula 1 reached 99.9%when the dosage of HP-100 was 0.3%;the antibacterial rate of cotton cloth washed with the laundry gel sample of Formula 1+0.3%HP-100 was more than 50%after 24 h,and still had the antibacterial effect;the antibacterial rate of cotton cloth washed with the sample of laundry gel with HP-100 was more than 50%after 24 h,and still had the antibacterial effect;the antibacterial effect of the sample with HP-100 was more than 50%after 24 h,and still had the antibacterial effect.The fabrics washed with HP-100 added laundry gel beads had better odor control than those treated with laundry gel beads without HP-100,and the addition of HP-100 to laundry gel beads could have antibacterial and deodorizing effects. 展开更多

The influence of PVA water soluble film on the quality of llaundry capsule was discussed from three aspects:appearance,manufacture and use.The basic properties of several mainstream PVA membranes on the market related to laundry capsules were evaluated.The results show that the mist value of the film affects the appearance of the capsules.The higher the mist value is,the worse the transparency of the capsules is.The mechanical properties of the film affect the shape of the capsules,the tensile strength>35 Mpa,elongation>400%,modulus>50 Mpa,the shape of the capsules is more three-dimensional;The water solubility of the film can affect the production of the capsules,and the production of the capsules is smooth when the film breaking speed is greater than 20~30 s and the dissolution speed is 40~60 s.The film compatibility index reflects the effect of the capsules washing machine.The shorter the dissolution time of the compatibility,the less the residue of the capsules after washing. 展开更多

Bacteriostatic laundry detergent was prepared with application of dodecyl dimethyl benzyl ammonium chloride (1227). In accordance with relevant standards applied in Chinese detergent industry, the effect of 1227 on sensory and physiochemical quality indices, detergency and foaming performance of laundry detergent were comprehensively investigated,and antimicrobial performance as well as practical application performance including skin irritation of laundry detergent formulated with 1227 was emphatically examined and compared with that of market product with similar functions. Results indicated that, in formulation without anionic surfactant, all indices of self-prepared bacteriostatic laundry detergent can meet requirements specified in relevant standards. The foaming power of self-prepared bacteriostatic laundry detergent was lower and easier to rinse than bacteriostatic laundry detergent product in market. Using aqueous solution of 1% mass fraction of self-prepared bacteriostatic laundry detergent containing 2%of 1227, the antibacterial rate for 20 min on both Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus separately reached 100%, which was much better than that of the bacteriostatic laundry detergent product from market. The action effectiveness of the self-prepared bacteriostatic laundry detergent can be maintained for a longer time period and shows no obvious irritation effect to human skin. 展开更多

Finding the best method to assess the effectiveness of Anti-Money Laundering(AML)policies is a controversial issue. Based on about 9,000 questionnaires circulated to AML professionals and other related staff at the People's Bank of China and other banking institutions,this study acquired first-hand data from respondents and has resulted in the following key findings:The effectiveness of the whole AML system is rated as"largely effective"in respect to China’s legislation,regulation and supervision,suspicious transaction monitoring and analyses and administrative investigation;the system is rated as"basically effective"in respect to money-laundering prosecutions and convictions and international cooperation.Financial institutions'compliance with AML regulations is rated as"largely effective"in respect to internal control,customer identification,large-value transaction and suspicious transaction reporting,and the record-keeping of ID information and transactions.Statistically,58.48%of respondents said they think that China’s AML regime is"completely effective"or"largely effective;"35.21%say it is"basically effective,"and the remaining 4.68% call it"largely ineffective"or"completely ineffective."The authors conclude by proposing some policy recommendations to enhance the effectiveness of AML policy. 展开更多

核工业日常放射性污染衣物的去污可以实现废物最小化,资源重复利用,同时减少辐射对人体健康的损害。一般商用的洗衣液/洗衣粉可以满足对油污及汗渍的去除,但是对放射性核素如锶、铀难以去除。为了解决这些问题,采用自制的配方制备了去污... 核工业日常放射性污染衣物的去污可以实现废物最小化,资源重复利用,同时减少辐射对人体健康的损害。一般商用的洗衣液/洗衣粉可以满足对油污及汗渍的去除,但是对放射性核素如锶、铀难以去除。为了解决这些问题,采用自制的配方制备了去污剂,参考GB/T 13174和GB/T 14057.2建立了去污效果评价方法并对其进行去污性能评价,且与常用的商用市售的洗衣液进行对比。结果表明,该去污剂对放射性污染具有良好的去污效果,达到80%以上,综合去污性能优于商用市售的洗衣液产品。对模拟的油、灰尘渍、人体油脂渍具有良好的去污能力,对蛋白渍去污效果较差,可以满足对核工业日常操作中放射性污染、工作人员的汗渍污染和机械设备的油污污染衣服的去污,使其有望成为一种去除核工业日常衣物放射性污染的新型产品。 展开更多
