Exploring Critical Thinking Dispositions among Fourth Year BSc Nursing Students of Various Colleges of Nursing, Pakistan

Background: Critical Thinking (CT) dispositions in nursing are prominent predictors of competence in delivering high-quality care, and of professionalism, in newly graduated nurses. CT skills, in isolation of CT dispositions, do not guarantee success in the workplace, because Critical Thinking Dispositions (CTD) are important elements of intellectual reasoning that simulate a person towards using the CT skills. Therefore, nursing educational programs should promote lifelong learning rather than focusing on transferring the content of nursing knowledge only. And for this purpose, quality education is the key. Education should focus on teaching from diverse perspectives, incorporating various teaching learning strategies that are congruent with the modern era. Purpose: The purpose of this study is to explore critical thinking dispositions among final year Baccalaureate Nursing students of various military colleges of nursing, in Pakistan. Methodology: A descriptive qualitative exploratory study design was used to investigate the CTD of BSc final year nursing students. The study population included twelve willing nursing students, from six military colleges across the country. Demographic information and consent was taken from the participants of the study. In-depth interviews, through a semi structured interview guide, and probes were used to obtain data related to personal experiences of CTD amongst the nursing students. Results: Data analysis showed two broad themes: 1) Perceptions of CT, and 2) Experiences of CT dispositions. In theme one, the emerging category was: Clarity of CT;whereas in theme two, the categories that emerged were: a) Truth Seeking, b) Open Mindedness, c) Inquisitiveness, and d) Self Organization. Conclusion: The findings of the study revealed positive dispositions towards truth seeking, open mindedness, and self-organization, whereas disposition towards inquisitiveness was weak. Self-confidence and maturity also emerged as positive factors that the students possessed. This study recommends that faculty and learners should extend their concept of CTD, and emphasizes its application in daily routine. Additionally, faculty should modify their instructional strategies and focus on the cultivation of dispositions of inquisitiveness, curiosity, and allow questioning by students in the class.

色彩作为Design Thinking中的重要媒介,在艺术设计创新实践中具有重要潜力。本文探讨了以色彩为媒介的Design Thinking在艺术设计创新实践中的应用。色彩不仅在Design Thinking中占据重要地位,而且对人类的情绪和行为产生影响,同时在设计中起着至关重要的作用。将Design Thinking引入艺术实践领域,旨在培养艺术创新思维和问题解决能力,强调创新实践和跨学科合作。职业院校在艺术设计创新实践中面临着诸多挑战,但也存在机遇。通过案例分析,本文展示了如何实施基于色彩的Design Thinking艺术设计实践以及这种创新对艺术创新能力的积极影响。

Critical Thinking Disposition among Nurses Working in Puplic Hospitals at Port-Said Governorate

Aim: This study aimed to investigate critical thinking disposition among nurses working in Public Hospitals in Port-Said Governorate.Methods: A descriptive research design was conducted in this study. Totally 196 respondents were chosen by systemic random sampling, to take part in the study as the sample. Data was collected from April to September in 2015. Tools of data collection: A personal and job characteristics data sheet and California Critical Thinking Disposition Inventory(CCTDI) were used. Results: The results revealed that the total critical thinking disposition score mean was 257.05 ± 20.16 and the highest score mean was 48.67 ± 6.28 for inquisitiveness subscale, while the lowest score mean was 21.36 ± 7.19 for the truth-seeking subscale. Also, none of the personal&job characteristics showed statistically significant relations with the total critical thinking disposition. Conclusion: More than three quarters of the nurses had an ambivalent disposition toward critical thinking, and most nurses' scores indicated a negative tendency towards truth-seeking. So the findings pointed for upgrading nurses' critical thinking through educational programs and a need for more problem-based learning with advanced teaching strategies in clinical areas.

The relationships among critical thinking disposition, caring behavior, and learning styles in student nurses

The purpose of this study was to identify the relationships among disposition toward critical thinking, learning styles, and caring behaviors in student nurses enrolled in three 5-year junior nursing colleges in Southern Taiwan. Methods: This cross-sectional study used a convenience sample that comprised 777 nursing students from two cities. The data were obtained through the Critical Thinking Disposition Inventory, Chinese Version (CTDI-CV), Index of Learning Styles (ILS), and the Caring Behavior Scale (CBS). The sample ranged in age from 16 to 22 years (M = 18.21). Results: Students scored highest on the inquisitiveness subscale and lowest on the truth-seeking subscale. Additionally, some dimensions of disposition toward critical thinking differed significantly by learning style. There was a positive relationship between overall critical thinking dispositions and caring behaviors (r = 0.23, p < 0.01). Finally, dimensions of caring behavior, with the exception of the maturity dimension, were significantly positively related to most dimensions of the disposition toward critical thinking (p < 0.05). Conclusion: The findings indicate that not only is learning style related to critical thinking disposition but also to caring behaviors. However, the cause of these relationships warrants further study.

The Chinese Yin-Yang Thinking in Antoni Tàpies’Artistic Creation

The writings and artistic works of Antoni Tàpies(2009;2011)mirror the influences of the cosmic vision of the Chinese yin-yang.Signs,numbers,and creative procedures related to this correlative thought prevail in his art.Tàpies integrated different iconological codes from the ancient Chinese thinking into his art to question the existential meaning of the universe and to express his thoughts on the cultural and socio-political controversies of his time.In other words,the images,media,and techniques that he utilized for his works were extensions of his life experiences intertwined with various socio-historical facts and his personal feelings.

Reconstruction and paradigm of the thinking mode of environmental art design

Environmental art design covers almost all contemporary art and design, and is a comprehensive system of art and design.Therefore, the image of thinking dominated, integrated design thinking is the main feature of the environmental design. At present, the specialtyof environmental art design offered by universities in our country starts relatively late compared with foreign countries. The basic course and thespecialized course, the theory class and the practice class have the serious disconnection phenomenon. In addition, there are some problems in theconstruction of teaching staff. The teaching experience, academic level and professional level of teachers need to be further improved. Therefore,environmental art design specialty teaching reform must proceed from the actual environmental art design, strengthen the application of practiceteaching, which will be closely connected with the market, the theoretical knowledge learned in the classroom through the practice has beenconsolidated, cultivate creative design thinking of designer.

A Study of Systematic Theory Knowledge with Creative Methods and Techniques of Creative Thinking in Art Design

The essence of objective things is expressed through a unique and novel thinking activity, thus forming a multi-dimensional solution, and obtaining more effective solutions, that is, creative thinking. It is meaningful to master its manifestation and to study the application of creative thinking in solving specific problems. In this paper, based on the premise of art design, the connotation and manifestation of creative thinking were studied and discussed, and the application of creative thinking was expounded. This paper hopes to provide some theoretical help for the practical application of creative thinking in the future development of art design.

Discussion of the impact of folk arts on the art education in our country and the enlightenment of the creative thinking

In the face of various problems in the current art education, the targeted reform is very important. This reform can be embarked from the folk art handed down from the folk. In the classrooms, we should let the students contact the traditional arts and crafts, so that they know more about arts. In the history of China＇s bright and colorful folk arts, there flash numerous art forms, including the facial makeup art and culture, the shadow play art and culture, the paper-cut art and culture, and the kite drawing art and culture, and so on. These are the unique arts only of our nation with five thousand years of the development, and we need to well integrate them into the current art education, so as to form the unique system of the art education. This can not only play the role of inheriting the traditional Chinese cultures, but also can well arouse the children＇s interest in arts and their art creativity.

Research on the Ability and the Employment Guiding Thinking and the Applications on Professional Basic Course of Higher Vocational Art and Practice of Bridging Mode

Art design is the biggest characteristic of individual creativity, art need to createinstead of imitating and copying. In the process of production, creative thinking is the key to a successful art products, grasp the technology canproduce the same design and the product, but the hand of art and technology perfect combination is possible to create the art products. For designand production activities in the basic technical indexes and basic operation can understand and grasp the designer is unable to turn the designinto product, higher vocational art and design. This paper integrates the state-of-the-art angles and perspectives on the issues that hold specialmeaning.

The Influence of Blending Learning on Undergraduates’Critical Thinking Disposition:A Quasi Experimental Study

Objective:To explore the influence of blending learning on the critical thinking disposition among undergraduates.Methods:Two undergraduate classes majoring in Applied Psychology with similar level of critical thinking disposition were selected as the research subjects.Class A(106 students)was the experimental class,and class B(131 students)was the control class.During the research period of one semester(four months),the following measures were implemented for the two classes.The control class studied Developmental Psychology under the conventional teaching methods and procedures,while the experimental class studied Developmental Psychology according to the requirements and procedures of blending learning.The two classes were investigated with Critical Thinking Disposition Inventory-Chinese Version(CTDI-CV)at the beginning and end of the course.Results:At the beginning of the course,the total scores of CTDI-CV of the two classes were(217.33±14.90)and(218.31±16.29),respectively,with no significant difference(P>0.05).At the end of the course,the total scores of CTDI-CV of the experimental class and the control class were(237.84±17.53)and(224.22±17.52),respectively,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.001).Conclusion:Blending learning may have a positive effect in improving the critical thinking disposition in undergraduates.

Correlation between English Majors' Critical Thinking Disposition and Their English Reading Comprehension

To improve students' critical thinking is considered as a top priority by a growing number of educators.While there exists a comparable amount of research examining students' critical thinking skills,less is known about students' tendency to use these skills.Specifically,little is known about what influence critical thinking disposition has on students' academic achievement.English reading comprehension,which has been an important composition in students' English achievement,may be an important factor in developing this disposition.The current study examined the characteristics of students' critical thinking disposition and their English reading comprehension as well as exploring the correlation between the two factors mentioned above.The current study involved in 125 sophomores in English major from Jiangsu province.The results indicated that students in current research performed best in Maturity (M=37.46,SD=3.57),followed by Inquisitiveness (M=36.64,SD=4.31),Analyticity (M=34.86,SD=3.70),Truthseeking (M=33.86,SD=4.08).In contrast,they performed worst in CT Confidence (M=33.17,SD=4.57),followed by Systematicity (M=33.49,SD=5.10) and Open-mindedness (M=33.50,SD=3.67).Students scored highest in Attitude and View Category as the mean was 0.8257,followed by Reasoning and Judgment Category (M=0.8128),Induction and Generalization Category (M=0.7612),Theme Topic Category (M=0.6844),Semantic Comprehension Category (M=0.6789),while scored lowest in Fact and Detail Category (M=0.5818).There existed a positive correlation between critical thinking disposition and reading comprehension achievement (n=109;r=0.300;p<0.01).

环境艺术设计在公共空间中的应用思考

自然地理学与人文地理学深度融合:地理学革新的枢纽

基于双钻+PBL模式的非遗技艺学习类APP交互设计研究

目的从非遗技艺学习类APP原型开发的视角,提出并构建该类原型中交互设计的双钻+PBL模式,以改善用户使用后批判思维倾向提升不足的问题。方法针对非遗技艺学习类APP原型的交互设计在用户批判思维倾向提升上的不足,在被广泛论证有利于提升批判思维的PBL(基于问题的学习)模式的基础上,融入典型艺术设计实践活动的双钻模型,开发新的交互设计原型。随后使用定量研究的方法,采用加利福尼亚批判思维倾向量表对30个参与实验的学生进行前测和后测,使用平均分、中位数、正态分布检验得分,最终选择威尔科克森秩和检验检验统计数据,回答研究问题。结果批判思维倾向的P小于0.05,6个子维度中除了开放思想的P小于0.05之外,其他五个子维度P都大于0.05。结论实验结果表明,基于双钻+PBL模式开发非遗技艺学习类APP交互原型能对使用者批判思维倾向产生提升效果,但对其中几个子维度提升效果不显著。

新文科背景下复合型外语人才思辨能力培养创新实践

基于象思维的新媒体水墨艺术创作策略研究

目的 研究中国传统象思维的基本过程与特征,探寻传统象思维与新媒体水墨艺术的内在联系,从而提出基于象思维的新媒体水墨艺术创作策略,促进国内新媒体艺术本土基因的表达。同时探究传统思维与当代科技在艺术设计中的融合方式。方法 以中国传统象思维“观物取象,立象尽意,得意忘象”三个阶段的基本过程为基础,结合图形化编程、多模态交互技术、人工智能等现代技术,探究其在新媒体水墨艺术创作中的运用方式。结果 象思维通过主客一体、动态转化的观物视角和感性直观的取象原则、打破边界的传递方式、超越原象的接受之道与新媒体水墨艺术结合,并创造出体现本土文化基因的艺术作品。结论 通过象思维与新媒体水墨艺术的结合,发挥主体的感性因素在创作中的独特作用,不拘泥于象的起点,持动态、循环、发展的视角,打破思想桎梏,通过人工智能技术与传统象思维的融合,进一步增强了主体的创造力,实现了艺术创作中传统思想与当代技术的融合,同时也为中国传统经典思想注入了新媒体时代的新生机。

学科融合视域下数学课程与教学研究——以数学D类课程“美术中的数学”为对象

跨界与融合是教育发展的新趋势,《普通高中数学课程标准(2017年版2020年修订)》设置了“美术中的数学”选修课程,这是数学与美术两门学科跨界融合的体现.数学和美术融合下的数学学习,应基于数学学科特点,在学科交叠的范围内设计活动,关注知识结构的联结和迁移,促进学科知识的运用;借助真实情境为背景,削弱学科间的刚性边界,实现数学和美术间的相互统整,旨向培养学生的问题解决能力;在数学学科知识主导美术知识为辅下,形成教育合力,丰富学生的学习资源,拓展学生的学科视野,促进学生高阶思维能力的提升.基于此,研究聚焦“美术中的数学”课程理念与目标,分析课程内容的安排,进而对其进行教学思考:基于数学与美术的知识关联,设计真实情境;收集美术作品案例,系统设计评价任务;以增值评价为导向,关注作业设计;以学科融合育人为导向,培养学生的跨学科思维.

科学与艺术整合过程中深度学习对幼儿创造力提升的影响

通过准实验研究,发现幼儿在实施了一学期的科学与艺术整合课程后,托兰斯创造力测验分数显著提高。幼儿在区域活动中深度学习方式的使用频率能显著预测幼儿的托兰斯创造力测验得分;而在科学与艺术整合课程中,集体活动中的深度学习方式使用频率也能显著预测幼儿托兰斯创造力的得分。重复测量方差分析发现,无论是在集体活动还是区域活动中,实验组幼儿在后测中使用深度学习的频率显著高于前测,也显著高于控制组。幼儿通过深度学习在新旧知识之间建立广泛联系,并运用非良构知识创造性地解决非良构问题,运用高阶思维激发了创造力。
