Using the visual (V)-band data obtained...We present the results of our study of three previously unstudied short-period eclipsing binaries, namely: ASAS 110609 ﹣ 2045.3, ASAS105331 ﹣ 7424.7, and ASAS 130057 + 2120.3. Using the visual (V)-band data obtained from the ASAS catalogue, the orbital and physical parameters of the systems were derived for the first time using the Wilson-Divenney (WD) codes. Our investigation revealed that ASAS 110609 ﹣ 2045.3 is a near-contact binary star of the W Uma type having an angle of inclination of 80° ± 1, a mass ratio of about 0.5, an orbital period of 0.2933 ± 0.0130 days, and an effective temperature in the range of 5800 K - 6200 K, making it a G2V-F7V spectral system. ASAS 105331 ﹣ 7424.7 was established to be an over-contact binary system of the W Uma type, inclined at 86° ± 2 to the line of sight, having a mass ratio of about 0.9, a period of 0.4825 ± 0.0002, and an effective temperature in the range of 5200 K - 5300 K, making it a K2V-K0V spectral system. A third light factor of just 0.1 was established for the system, however, no evidence of starspots or discs was inferred for either component. ASAS 130,057 + 2120.3 is a W Uma binary having a mass ratio of about 0.6 in a state of marginal contact. Its orbital inclination is 55° ± 1;the effective temperature is in the range of 6200 K - 6500 K, making it a F7V-F5V stellar system. The system showed evidence of third light, with a third light factor of 0.6, however, the presence of spots or discs could not be established for either component. The deduced period was 0.8930 ± 0.0014 days. None of the systems showed any evidence of the O’Connell effect on either component.展开更多
ASAS J174406+2446.8 was originally found as aδScuti-type pulsating star with the period P=0.189068 d by ASAS survey.However,the LAMOST stellar parameters reveal that it is far beyond the red edge of pulsational insta...ASAS J174406+2446.8 was originally found as aδScuti-type pulsating star with the period P=0.189068 d by ASAS survey.However,the LAMOST stellar parameters reveal that it is far beyond the red edge of pulsational instability strip on the log g-T diagram ofδScuti pulsating stars.To understand the physical properties of the variable star,we observed it by the 1.0-m Cassegrain reflecting telescope at Yunnan Observatories.Multi-color light curves in B,V,R_c and I_c bands were obtained and are analyzed by using the W-D program.It is found that this variable star is a shallow-contact binary with an EB-type light curve and an orbital period of 0.3781 d rather than aδScuti star.It is a W-subtype contact binary with a mass ratio of 1.135(±0.019)and a fill-out factor of 10.4%(±5.6)%.The situation of ASAS J174406+2446.8 resembles those of other EB-type marginal-contact binaries such as UU Lyn,ⅡPer and GW Tau.All of them are at a key evolutionary phase from a semi-detached configuration to a contact system predicted by the thermal relaxation oscillation theory.The linear ephemeris was corrected by using 303 new determined times of light minimum.It is detected that the O-C curve shows a sinusoidal variation that could be explained by the light-travel-time effect via the presence of a cool red dwarf.The present investigation reveals that some of theδScuti-type stars beyond the red edge of pulsating instability strip on the log g-T diagram are misclassified eclipsing binaries.To understand their structures and evolutionary states,more studies are required in the future.展开更多
Although the development of the 2009 Sp A classification criteria by Assessment of Spondylo Arthritis international Society（ASAS） represents an important step towards a better definition of the early disease stage p...Although the development of the 2009 Sp A classification criteria by Assessment of Spondylo Arthritis international Society（ASAS） represents an important step towards a better definition of the early disease stage particularly in axial spondyloarthritis（ax Sp A）, the specificity of the criteria has been criticized these days. As the commonest zoonotic infection worldwide, human brucellosis can mimic a large number of diseases, including Sp A. This study was performed to determine the frequency of rheumatologic manifestations in patients with brucellosis and the chance of misdiagnosing them as having ax Sp A in central China. The results showed that clinical manifestations of ax Sp A could be observed in brucellosis. Over half of patients had back pain, and one fifth of the patients with back pain were less than 45 years old at onset and had the symptom for more than 3 months. Two young males were falsely classified as suffering from ax Sp A according to the ASAS criteria, and one with MRI proved sacroiliitis was once given Etanercept for treatment. Therefore, differential diagnosis including human brucellosis should always be kept in mind when applying the ASAS criteria, even in traditionally non-endemic areas.展开更多

With our data we were able to determine six new times of minimum light...We present CCD B and V light curves,obtained in the year 2006,and a photometric solution of the low-mass ratio contact binary ASAS 021209＋2708.3. With our data we were able to determine six new times of minimum light and refine the orbital period of the system to 0.3181963 days.The light curves are analyzed using the 2003 version of the Wilson-Devinney program and the analysis was performed with and without adding a spot on the surface of one star because the light curves appear to exhibit a typical O’Connell effect,with Maximum I brighter than Maximum II.The results show that ASAS 021209＋2708.3 may be classified as an A-subtype W Ursae Majoris system with a small mass ratio q=0.1889,a large over-contact degree of f= 0.587,a very small difference between the component temperatures of Δ T=53 K and an orbital inclination of i=81°.It is known that deep（f50%） ,low-mass ratio（q0.25） overcontact binary stars are a very important resource for understanding the phenomena of Blue Straggler/FK Com-type stars.The formations of Blue Straggler stars and FK Com-type stars are unsolved problems in stellar astrophysics.One of the possible explanations for their formation is from the coalescence of W UMa-type overcontact binary systems.The absolute dimensions of ASAS 021209＋2708.3 are estimated and its dynamical evolution is inferred.展开更多
