Urban parks are an important part of urban ecosystems and also provide recreational services for urban residents.However,it is still unclear how the recreational attractiveness of urban parks can be evaluated.In this study,12 typical parks in Changchun,China were selected for evaluation of their recreational attractiveness.We built a recreational attractiveness evaluation system based on the analytical hierarchy process(AHP)to produce a composite evaluation index.This method included:1)the landscape quality of the parks;2)the recreational facilities;3)the conditions of the area;and 4)the accessibility of the parks.Our results showed that Nanhu Park,Children’s Park,Shengli Park,and Jingyuetan Forest Park had high recreational attractiveness,whereas Linyuan Park had the lowest attractiveness among the 12 parks.These results agreed with the information obtained from a field survey of the actual recreational and revisit rates,which showed that the evaluation index is reliable.Correlation analysis showed that the landscape quality and recreational facilities of parks had a direct effect on their recreational attractiveness.A negative correlation was found between the accessibility of a park and its recreational attractiveness.We conclude that if the scenery and facilities are not as good as a visitor expects,then they may choose to visit a different park,even if it takes a longer time to reach. 展开更多

With the rapid development of urban commercial complex in China,its roof garden becomes an important container for outdoor consumption and activities as the link between itself and the city,and more and more attention has been paid to its attractiveness.First,roof garden of Handan Meilecheng is taken as research object,and quantitative method of spatial attractiveness is established based on the number of spontaneous and chain activities and their intensity score.On this basis,data are collected via field investigation,and spatial attractiveness of roof garden of Meilecheng is quantified,and its distribution characteristics are summarized.Second,the cause of the characteristics formation is explained from the perspective of built environment elements.Finally,corresponding optimization strategies are proposed from four aspects:setting of landscape platform,increase of interest in sculpture sketches,design of space boundary,and improvement of spatial accessibility,which could provide reference for planning,design and transformation of roof garden of commercial complex in the future. 展开更多

After a summary of central problems concerning the German health sector and its current challenges, the study design behind the systematic content analysis as well as its criteria are presented. Selected results describe characteristics of expert literature for employer attractiveness in general, the attractiveness of German hospitals as employers (“hospital employer attractiveness” for short) as well as employer attractiveness from a medical doctor’s point of view. College students completed anonline attitudinal assessment in a 4 × 2 design. Participants were asked to rate the aesthetics of tattoos and models(11 women and 17 men) from Photoshopped images. Results (n = 152 usable of 177 collected) indicate that aswhole models and tattoos are not affected in aesthetic appeal, but individually some models and tattoos wereaffected. Tattoos were rated as better quality art when the model can be seen; thus, contextualization allows forgreater appreciation of the tattoo. Results support extant research that indicates women's attractiveness is notaffected by tattoos, which also providing a new approach for tattooed individuals. 展开更多

Aesthetic evaluations,including beauty and attractiveness,have an important role in our lives.Despite its importance in our every-day life,enough attention has not been devoted to the assessment of place attractiveness in previous studies.We assume that changes in elements of square attractiveness are associated with changes in brain functional connectivity patterns.In this study,we have tried to explore the relationship between elements of square attractiveness and individuals’emotional perception as well as the brain mechanism involved in the process of cognitive development.There has been a focus on using objective measures of physiological rather than using self-reported data of an individual’s emotions because people cannot understand their emotions properly and it is needed to compare self-report emotions with physiological processes.Classification of the five main elements of attractiveness was performed using the Delphi technique.Subsequently,twenty-four healthy young adults were exposed to the visual stimuli consists of five elements.A 32-channel EEG system was used to record the brain activities of participants while watching the stimuli.The subjects’feelings about valence and arousal levels of the elements were evaluated using the Self-Assessment Manikin(SAM)technique.The findings showed that“visual openness”is the most important element to increase the square attractiveness of everyday landscape in residential areas.The analysis revealed a significant difference(p=0.048)in arousal ratings between more attractive(more openness)(M=4.77)and less attractive(less openness)(M=4.52).Attractiveness elements of the stimuli have a region-specific association with brain functional connectivity networks.This pattern is mainly found in the functional connections between central parts of the brain. 展开更多

Animation creates a vivid, virtual world and expands the scope of human imagination. In this study, we investigated the time-courses of brain responses related to the evaluation of the attractiveness of cartoon faces using the event-related potential (ERP) technique. The results demonstrated that N170 amplitude was higher for attractive than for unattractive cartoon faces in males, while the opposite was found in females. Facial attractiveness notably modulated the late positive component (LPC), which might reflect the task-related process of aesthetic appraisal of beauty. The mean LPC amplitude in males was significantly higher for attractive cartoon faces than for unattractive faces, while the LPC amplitude in females did not significantly differ between attractive and unattractive cartoon faces. Moreover, the paint mode (computer graphics, gouache, and stick figure) modulated the early encoding of facial structures and the late evaluative process. The early modulation effect by paint mode may be related to the spatial frequency of the pictures. The processing speed and intensity in females were both higher than those in males. In conclusion, our study, for the first time, reported ERP modulation based on the assessment of cartoon facial attractiveness, suggesting the facilitated selection of attractiveness information at the early stage, and that the attentional enhancement of attractive faces at the late stage only exists in males. This suggests that men's brains are hard-wired to be sensitive to facial beauty, even in cartoons. 展开更多

Traditional trip generation forecasting methods use unified average trip generation rates to determine trip generation volumes in various traffic zones without considering the individual characteristics of each traffic zone. Therefore, the results can have significant errors. To reduce the forecasting error produced by uniform trip generation rates for different traffic zones, the behavior of each traveler was studied instead of the characteristics of the traffic zone. This paper gives a method for calculating the trip efficiency and the effect of traffic zones combined with a destination selection model based on disaggregate theory for trip generation. Beijing data is used with the trip generation method to predict trip volumes. The results show that the disaggregate model in this paper is more accurate than the traditional method. An analysis of the factors influencing traveler behavior and destination selection shows that the attractiveness of the traffic zone strongly affects the trip generation volume. 展开更多

In the era of Internet of Things(Io Ts),an energy-efficient ultraviolet(UV)photodetector(PD)is highly desirable considering the massive usage scenarios such as environmental sterilization,fire alarm and corona discharge monitoring.So far,common self-powered UV PDs are mainly based on metal-semiconductor heterostructures or p–n heterojunctions,where the limited intrinsic built-in electric field restricts further enhancement of the photoresponsivity.In this work,an extremely low-voltage field-effect UV PD is proposed using a gatedrain shorted amorphous IGZO(a-IGZO)thin film transistor(TFT)architecture.A combined investigation of the experimental measurements and technology computer-aided design(TCAD)simulations suggests that the reverse current(ⅠR)of field-effect diode(FED)is highly related with the threshold voltage(Vth)of the parental TFT,implying an enhancement-mode TFT is preferable to fabricate the field-effect UV PD with low dark current.Driven by a low bias of-0.1 V,decent UV response has been realized including large UV/visible(R_(300)/R_(550))rejection ratio(1.9×10^(3)),low dark current(1.15×10^(-12)A)as well as high photo-to-dark current ratio(PDCR,~10^(3))and responsivity(1.89 A/W).This field-effect photodiode provides a new platform to construct UV PDs with well-balanced photoresponse performance at a low bias,which is attractive for designs of large-scale smart sensor networks with high energy efficiency. 展开更多

Multiscale Characteristics and Connection Mechanisms of Attraction Networks:A Trajectory Data Mining Approach Leveraging Geotagged Data

Urban tourism is considered a complex system,and multiscale exploration of the organizational patterns of attraction networks has become a topical issue in urban tourism,so exploring the multiscale characteristics and connection mechanisms of attraction networks is important for understanding the linkages between attractions and even the future destination planning.This paper uses geotagging data to compare the links between attractions in Beijing,China during four different periods:the pre-Olympic period(2004–2007),the Olympic Games and subsequent‘heat period’(2008–2013),the post-Olympic period(2014–2019),and the COVID-19(Corona Virus Disease 2019)pandemic period(2020–2021).The aim is to better understand the evolution and patterns of attraction networks at different scales in Beijing and to provide insights for tourism planning in the destination.The results show that the macro,meso-,and microscales network characteristics of attraction networks have inherent logical relationships that can explain the commonalities and differences in the development process of tourism networks.The macroscale attraction network degree Matthew effect is significant in the four different periods and exhibits a morphological monocentric structure,suggesting that new entrants are more likely to be associated with attractions that already have high value.The mesoscale links attractions according to the common purpose of tourists,and the results of the community segmentation of the attraction networks in the four different periods suggest that the functional polycentric structure describes their clustering effect,and the weak links between clusters result from attractions bound by incomplete information and distance,and the functional polycentric structure with a generally more efficient network of clusters.The pattern structure at the microscale reveals the topological transformation relationship of the regional collaboration pattern,and the attraction network structure in the four different periods has a very similar importance profile structure suggesting that the attraction network has the same construction rules and evolution mechanism,which aids in understanding the attraction network pattern at both macro and micro scales.Important approaches and practical implications for planners and managers are presented. 展开更多

Present studies in physics assume that elementary particles are the building blocks of all matter, and that they are zero-dimensional objects which do not occupy space. The new I-Theory predicts that elementary particles do indeed have a substructure, three dimensions, and occupy space, being composed of fundamental particles called I-particles. In this article we identify the substructural pattern of elementary particles and define the quanta of energy that form each elementary particle. We demonstrate that the substructure comprises two classes of quanta which we call “attraction quanta” and “repulsion quanta”. We create a model that defines the rest-mass energy of each elementary particle and can predict new particles. Lastly, in order to incorporate this knowledge into the contemporary models of science, a revised periodic table is proposed. 展开更多
