This research had focused on developing the RPA environment and its future features in order to elaborate on the projected policies based on its comprehensive experiences. The current and previous situations of industry are looking for IT solutions to fully scale their company Improve business flexibility, improve customer satisfaction, improve productivity, accuracy and reduce costs, quick scalability in RPA has currently appeared as an advance technology with exceptional performance. It emphasizes future trends and foresees the evolution of RPA by integrating artificial intelligence, learning of machine and cognitive automation into RPA frameworks. Moreover, it has analyzed the technical constraints, including the scalability, security issues and interoperability, while investigating regulatory and ethical considerations that are so important to the ethical utilization of RPA. The main purpose of this literature review is to understand the effectiveness and impacts of Robotics Process Automation (RPA) on the practices of Project Management (PM). For attaining the purposes of the research study, an extensive literature review was conducted, which helped in gaining a theoretical understanding. These findings were then justified with the help of current and relevant secondary sources in the analysis section. The findings suggested that RPA is quite advantageous for implementing in varied aspects of a business, especially in the field of project management. However, it can pose several challenges, which need to be taken into due consideration by the organizations during execution such as the capabilities of the employees and the abilities of the existing systems to incorporate automation, among others. It was ultimately concluded that RPA is highly advantageous for project management teams but its effective implementation is the key to success. 展开更多

Mobile robot has been one of the researches focuses in this era due to the demands in automation.Many industry players have been using mobile robot in their industrial plant for the purpose of reducing manual labour as well as ensuring more efficient and systematic process.The mobile robot for industrial usage is typically called as Automated Guided Vehicle(AGV).The advances in the navigation technology allows the AGV to be used for many tasks such as for carrying load to pre-determined locations sent from mobile app,stock management and pallet handling.More recently,the concept of Industry 4.0 has been widely practiced in the industries,where important process data are exchange over the internet for an improved management.This paper will therefore discuss the development of Internet of Things(IoT)bases mobile robot for AGV application.In this project a mobile robot platform is designed and fabricated.The robot is controlled to navigate from one location to another using line following mechanism.Mobile App is designed to communicate with the robot through the Internet of Things(IoT).RFID tags are used to identify the locations predetermined by user.The results show that the prototype is able to follow line and go to any location that was preregistered from the App through the IoT.The mobile robot is also able to avoid collision and any obstacles that exist on its way to perform any task inside the workplace. 展开更多

In the wake of the largest‐ever recorded outbreak of mpox in terms of magnitude and geographical spread in human history since May 2022,we innovatively developed an automated online sewage virus enrichment and concentration robot for disease tracking.Coupled with an artificial intelligence(AI)model,our research aims to estimate mpox cases based on the concentration of the monkeypox virus(MPXV)in wastewater.Our research has revealed a compelling link between the levels of MPXV in wastewater and the number of clinically confirmed mpox infections,a finding that is reinforced by the ability of our AI prediction model to forecast cases with remarkable precision,capturing 87%of the data’s variability.However,it is worth noting that this high precision in predictions may be related to the relatively high frequency of data acquisition and the relatively non‐mobile isolated environment of the hospital itself.In conclusion,this study represents a significant step forward in our ability to track and respond to mpox outbreaks.It has the potential to revolutionize public health surveillance by utilizing innovative technologies for disease surveillance and prediction。 展开更多

Automated installation of primary roof support material can potentially increase productivity and operator safety in the roadway development process within underground coal mining. Although the broader manufacturing sector has benefited from automation, several challenges exist within the Australian underground coal industry which makes it difficult to fully exploit these technologies. At the University of Wollongong a series of reprogrammable electromechanical manipulators have been designed to overcome these challenges and automatically handle the installation of roof and rib containment consumables on a continuous miner. The automated manipulation removes personnel from hazards in the immediate face area, particularly those associated with working in a confined and unstable working environment in close proximity to rotating and moving equipment. In a series of above ground trials the automated system was successfully demonstrated without human intervention and proven to be capable of achieving cycle times at a rate of 10 m per operating hour, consistent with that required to support high capacity longwall mines. The trials also identified a number of refinements which could further improve both cycle times and system reliability when considering the technology for underground use. The results have concluded that conventional manual handling practices on a continuous miner can be eliminated, and that the prototypes have significantly reduced the technical risk in proceeding to a full underground trial. 展开更多

Obtaining oil and gas from conventional and non-conventional resources will become more and more challenging. This intensifying need will impose very considerable demands on work force, financial and technology capabilities. Since the future supplies of oil and gas are to expand, advanced technology will become increasingly necessary to obtain access to more challenging conventional and non-conventional resources. Therefore oil and gas technologies will be very costly to operate in the coming future due to hostile, hard-to-reach environments. The offshore oil industry will become a complicated myriad of advanced equipment, structures, and work force. Our objectives are to identify potential applications and research directions of robotics and automation in the oil & gas field and explore the obstacles and challenges of robotic and automation applications to this area. This study performs the necessary survey and investigation about the work conditions of robotics and automation equipment in the oil and gas industry, especially offshore oil rigs. The oil & gas industry processes are first investigated. The personals and tasks are then explored. Furthermore, this paper reviews the current robotic automation technology. The challenges and requirements are identified for robotics and automation equipment in the oil and gas industry. The requirements of robotics and automation in the oil & gas industry are presented. The Malaysian government's vision to be a developed nation by 2020 has pushed forward the use of innovative technologies in most sectors and industries, including the construction industry. Through the ETP (Economic Transformation Programme), major projects launched are expected to provide a great catalyst for the economy, and may become the platform for increasing the use of automation and highly enhanced plants and machineries in the construction industry. Innovations in most countries are mostly driven by the need to find revolutionary solutions to problems, such as a shortage of skilled labor, decreasing quality of product and processes, inferior working conditions, declining productivity and increasing costs of labor and materials. Automation and robotics technologies encompass a wide range of innovative technologies using technologically advanced machineries to improve the speed and efficiency of a given process. This paper discusses the readiness of a developing country in embracing construction automation and robotics, by exploring industry perception, suggested practices and barriers to its implementation using a questionnaire survey and semi-structured interviews directed at Malaysian construction finns of contractors, specialist sub-contractors, developers and consultants. The findings show that the Malaysian construction industry is ready, to a certain extent, for implementing the technologies in limited areas such as prefabrication and assembly and in the design, planning and costing phases. 展开更多

This concern has remained constant attention and creative thinkers most profound since antiquity until today, it is of greatest interest. This article aims to highlight the most significant moments of the evolution from mechanical creatures mythical or real, from antiquity to the present humanoid robots. There are thus shown the most significant variants humanoid imagined or realized since Talos, described in Greek mythology, continuing with mechanical machines during late Roman Empire, the Byzantine Empire and then the Renaissance of the post-renaissance, then they are shown the main achievements of the industrialization period from the nineteenth to the early part of the twentieth century, then to the most important made in the last decades of the twentieth century and early twenty-first century. The work is important to stimulate concerns academic theorists and practice but also in the industrial practice specializing in robotics and more generally in mechatronics. It also opens the prospect of defining the concept of an artificial humanoid useful both for human prosthesis with certain disabilities, and a humanoid robot performance. 展开更多

The objective of this work is to provide an automatic system to count white blood cells in a blood smear. To do so an experiment was assembled, composed by a standard microscope with two step motors coupled to its knobs in order to move the microscope in x and y directions and a web cam which was mounted in the top of the microscope responsible for to acquire images from the smear. The step motors and the web cam are controlled by a microcomputer PC standard via software developed inDelphi. The motors use the parallel port to communicate with the PC and the camera use the USB port. The main idea is to set an initial point into the smear and the automated system will carry over the smear acquiring images (frames with 640 × 480 pixels) and counting the white blood cells encountered. The double histogram threshold technique is implemented to initially exclude the red cells from the image leaving only the white ones. Preliminaries results are obtained and show that the system is quite fast and has a good capacity of selection, even when different kinds of smear are used. 展开更多
