To study the hydrogen storage properties, all of the stable structures of NanBmHx (m + n =6) clusters have been optimized. It shows that boron atoms of NanBm are separated from the other boron atoms, and form satellite BHx (x = 3, 4) clusters around the centre, which attach to the system by a bridging bond of a hydrogen atom or an Na atom. Compared with the hydrogen storage capabilities, the Na3B3 has the highest hydrogen storage capacity among NanBm clusters. The binding energies, interaction energies of hydrogen atom with NanBm clusters and second difference in energy of Na3B3Hx clusters have been calculated. The results show that the stability of the NanBmHx clusters present an odd-even oscillatory effect, as the number of H atoms increases.展开更多

Several other properties, such as relative energies, average binding energies, average B-B bond lengths, have been also investigated. It is found that the ground state of B10 is quasi-planar structure with C2h symmetry, while the lowest energy state of B10 anion is quasi-planar structure with C1 symmetry. The average B-B bond lengths of the anion are very close to that of the corresponding neutral clusters. Substantial differences of photoabsorption spectra are observed between different isomers which can be used for comparison against future experimental investigations. And the spectra for the anionic clusters display a red shift with respect to the spectra of their corresponding neutral clusters.展开更多

The full geometry optimization and harmonic vibration frequency analysis were performed at the 6-31G(d) level using density functional theory B3LYP method, which indicates that the five isomers are stationary points on the potential energy surface of B4N4 molecules. The geometry structure, frontier molecular orbital (FMO) and mulliken population have been analyzed. The bonding properties and hybrid type were also discussed in detail, showing the addition of hydrogen atoms to boron or nitrogen atom would increase the stabilities of the BN clusters.展开更多

Five kinds of quartz sand particles(dp= 0.100, 0.139, 0.177, 0.250 and 0.375 mm and ρp= 2480 kg·m^(-3)) were respectively investigated, with the total mass of the bed material kept as 10 kg. The superficial gas velocity in the riser ranges from 2.486 to 5.594 m·s^(-1) and the solid mass flux alters from 30 to 70 kg·((m^(-2)·s))^(-1). Cluster characteristics and evolutionary processes in the different positions of the riser were captured by the cluster visualization systems and analyzed by the self-developed binary image processing. The results found four typical cluster structures in the riser,i.e., the macro stripe-shaped cluster, saddle-shaped cluster, U-shaped cluster and the micro cluster. The increasing superficial gas velocity and particle sizes result in the increasing average cluster size and the decreasing cluster time fraction, while the solid mass flux in the riser have the reverse influences on the cluster size and time fraction. Additionally, clusters in the upper region of the riser often have the larger size and time fraction than that in the lower region. All these effects of operating conditions on clusters become less obvious when particle size is less than 0.100 mm.展开更多

Our system is developed on cluster architectures. It has several retrieval. servers to supply the service of content-based image retrieval. It adopts the Browser/Server (B/S) mode. The users could visit our system though web pages. It uses the symmetrical color-spatial features (SCSF) to represent the content of an image. The SCSF is effective and efficient for image matching because it is independent of image distortion such as rotation and flip as well as it increases the matching accuracy. The SCSF was organized by M-tree, which could speedup the searching procedure. Our experiments show that the image matching is quickly and efficiently with the use of SCSF. And with the support of several retrieval servers, the system could respond to many users at mean time. Three types of clusters, an icosahedron (Fe12Y), a capped Archimedes anti-prism (Fe8B3) and a capped trigonal prism (Fe9B), as well as a binary eutectic (Fe83B17) were considered. Bulk glassy alloy rods of 3 mm in diameter were synthesized using a copper mold suction-casting method. The glass transition temperature was observed for all samples in the boron range of 15.9at%-25.7at%, with the alloy at 15.9at% of boron having the best thermal properties. The ferrous-based bulk metallic glasses (BMG) obtained have high reduced glass transition temperatures with the maximum reaching 0.63 and large supercooled liquid regions with the maximum reaching 111 K. Magnetic testing revealed a large value of coercive force and remanent magnetization, being 11 kA/m and 0.1 T, re- spectively.展开更多
