Objective: To evaluate the ability of Bacillus spp. as direct-fed microbials(DFM) to biodegrade al atoxin B1(AFB1) by using an in vitro digestive model simulating in vivo conditions.Methods: Sixty-nine Bacillus isolat...Objective: To evaluate the ability of Bacillus spp. as direct-fed microbials(DFM) to biodegrade al atoxin B1(AFB1) by using an in vitro digestive model simulating in vivo conditions.Methods: Sixty-nine Bacillus isolates were obtained from intestines, and soil samples were screened by using a selective media method against 0.25 and 1.00 μg/m L of AFB1 in modii ed Czapek-Dox medium. Plates were incubated at 37 °C and observed every two days for two weeks. Physiological properties of the three Bacillus spp. candidates were characterized biochemically and by 16 S r RNA sequence analyzes for identii cation. Tolerance to acidic p H, osmotic concentrations of Na Cl, bile salts were tested, and antimicrobial sensitivity proi les were also determined. Bacillus candidates were individually sporulated by using a solid fermentation method and combined. Spores were incorporated into 1 of 3 experimental feed groups: 1) Negative control group, with unmedicated starter broiler feed without AFB1; 2) Positive control group, with negative control feed contaminated with 0.01% AFB1; 3) DFM treated group, with positive control feed supplemented with 109 spores/g. After digestion time(3:15 h), supernatants and digesta were collected for high-performance liquid chromatography l uorescence detection analysis by triplicate.Results: Three out of those sixty-nine DFM candidates showed ability to biodegrade AFB1 in vitro based on growth as well as reduction of l uorescence and area of clearance around each colony in modii ed Czapek-Dox medium which was clearly visible under day light after 48 h of evaluation. Analysis of 16S-DNA identii ed the strains as Bacillus amyloliquefaciens, Bacillus megaterium and Bacillus subtilis. The three Bacillus strains were tolerant to acidic conditions(p H 2.0), tolerant to a high osmotic pressure(Na Cl at 6.5%), and were able to tolerate 0.037% bile salts after 24 h of incubation. No signii cant dif erences(P > 0.05) were observed in the concentrations of AFB1 in neither the supernatants nor digesta samples evaluated by highperformance liquid chromatography with l uorescence detection between positive control or DFM treated groups. Conclusions: In vitro digestion time was not enough to confirm biodegradation of AFB1. Further studies to evaluate the possible biodegradation ef ects of the BacillusDFM when continuously administered in experimentally contaminated feed with AFB1, are in progress.展开更多
Metal(aluminum and boron)based energetic materials have been wildly applied in various fields including aerospace,explosives and micro-devices due to their high energy density.Unfortunately,the low combustion efficien...Metal(aluminum and boron)based energetic materials have been wildly applied in various fields including aerospace,explosives and micro-devices due to their high energy density.Unfortunately,the low combustion efficiency and reactivity of metal fuels,especially boron(B),severely limit their practical applications.Herein,multi-component 3D microspheres of HMX/B/Al/PTFE(HBA)have been designed and successfully prepared by emulsion and solvent evaporation method to achieve superior energy and combustion reactivity.The reactivity and energy output of HBA are systematically measured by ignitionburning test,constant-volume explosion vessel system and bomb calorimetry.Due to the increased interfacial contact and reaction area,HBA shows higher flame propagation rate,faster pressurization rate and larger combustion heat of 29.95 cm/s,1077 kPa/s,and 6164.43 J/g,which is 1.5 times,3.5 times,and 1.03 times of the physical mixed counterpart(HBA-P).Meanwhile,HBA also shows enhanced energy output and reactivity than 3D microspheres of HMX/B/PTFE(HB)resulting from the high reactivity of Al.The reaction mechanism of 3D microspheres is comprehensively investigated through combustion emission spectral and thermal analysis(TG-DSC-MS).The superior reactivity and energy of HBA originate from the surface etching of fluorine to the inert shell(Al_(2)O_(3) and B_(2)O_(3))and the initiation effect of Al to B.This work offers a promising approach to design and prepare high-performance energetic materials for the practical applications.展开更多

A series of Al-Ti-B master alloys were prepared by different preparation routes,and the TiB2 particles in the master alloys were extracted and analyzed.It is found that the forming process has significant influence on...A series of Al-Ti-B master alloys were prepared by different preparation routes,and the TiB2 particles in the master alloys were extracted and analyzed.It is found that the forming process has significant influence on the three-dimensional morphology of TiB2 particles.Different preparation routes result in different reaction forms,which accounts for the morphology variation of TiB2 particles.When the Al-Ti-B master alloy is prepared using "halide salt" route,TiB2 particles exhibit hexagonal platelet morphology and are independent with each other.In addition,the reaction temperature almost does not have influence on the morphology of TiB2 particles.However,TiB2 particles exhibit different morphologies at different reaction temperatures when the master alloys are prepared with Al-3B and Ti sponge.When the master alloy is prepared at 850 ℃,a kind of TiB2 particle agglomeration forms with a size larger than 5 μm.The TiB2 particles change to layered stacking morphology even dendritic morphology with the reaction temperature reaching up to 1200 ℃.展开更多
Due to the wide application of UV-A(320 nm–400 nm)and UV-C(200 nm–280 nm)photodetectors,dual-wavelength(UV-A/UV-C)photodetectors are promising for future markets.A dual-wavelength UV photodetector based on vertical(...Due to the wide application of UV-A(320 nm–400 nm)and UV-C(200 nm–280 nm)photodetectors,dual-wavelength(UV-A/UV-C)photodetectors are promising for future markets.A dual-wavelength UV photodetector based on vertical(Al,Ga)N nanowires and graphene has been demonstrated successfully,in which graphene is used as a transparent electrode.Both UV-A and UV-C responses can be clearly detected by the device,and the rejection ratio(R254 nm/R450 nm)exceeds35 times at an applied bias of-2 V.The short response time of the device is less than 20 ms.Furthermore,the underlying mechanism of double ultraviolet responses has also been analyzed systematically.The dual-wavelength detections could mainly result from the appropriate ratio of the thicknesses and the enough energy band difference of(Al,Ga)N and Ga N sections.展开更多
Flexible electronic devices have attracted much attention due to their practical and commercial value. Integration of thin films with soft substrate is an effective way to fabricate flexible electronic devices. Integration of thin films with soft substrate is an effective way to fabricate flexible electronic devices. Ga_2O_3 thin films deposited directly on soft substrates would be amorphous mostly. However, the thickness of the thin film obtained by mechanical exfoliation method is difficult to control and the edge of the film is fragile and easy to be damaged. In this work, we fabricated free-standing Ga_2O_3 thin films using the water-soluble perovskite Sr_3Al_2O_6 as a sacrificial buffer layer. The obtained Ga_2O_3 thin films were polycrystalline. The thickness and dimension of the films were controllable. A flexible Ga_2O_3solar-blind UV photodetector was fabricated by transferring the free-standing Ga_2O_3 film on a flexible polyethylene terephthalate substrate. The results displayed that the photoelectric performances of the flexible Ga_2O_3 photodetector were not sensitive to bending of the device. The free-standing Ga_2O_3 thin films synthesized through the method described here can be transferred to any substrates or integrated with other thin films to fabricate electronic devices.展开更多
The electron mobility anisotropy in (Al,Ga)Sb/InAs two-dimensional electron gases with different surface morphology has been investigated.Large electron mobility anisotropy is found for the sample with anisotropic mor...The electron mobility anisotropy in (Al,Ga)Sb/InAs two-dimensional electron gases with different surface morphology has been investigated.Large electron mobility anisotropy is found for the sample with anisotropic morphology,which is mainly induced by the threading dislocations in the InAs layer.For the samples with isotropic morphology,the electron mobility is also anisotropic and could be attributed to the piezoelectric scattering.At low temperature (below transition temperature),the piezoelectric scattering is enhanced with the increase of temperature,leading to the increase of electron mobility anisotropy.At high temperature (above transition temperature),the phonon scattering becomes dominant.Because the phonon scattering is isotropic,the electron mobility anisotropy in all the samples would be reduced.Our results provide useful information for the comprehensive understanding of electron mobility anisotropy in the (Al,Ga)Sb/InAs system.展开更多
