Starting with an initial B-spline curve, the finite element method is adopted to make the active B-spline curve converge towards the target curve without the need of data points parameterization. A strategy of automatic control point insertion during the B-spline active contour deformation, adaptive to the shape of the planar curve, is also given. Experimental results show that this method is efficient and accurate in planar curve approximation.展开更多

In this model, a cubic B-spline segment is taken as an element, and the finite element method is adopted to solve the energy minimization problem of the B-spline active contour, thus to implement image segmentation. Experiment results verify that this method is efficient for B-spline active contour, which attains stable, accurate and faster convergence.展开更多

The algorithm for B-spline curve fairing with constraints is one of the most common methods in plane curve fairing. The algorithm can be applied to global and local curve fairing. It can constrain the perturbation range of the control points and the shape variation of the curve, and get a better fairing result in plane curves. In this paper, a new fairing algorithm with constraints for curves and surfaces in space is presented. Then this method is applied to the experiments of ship hull plate processing surface. By providing me nrst three measured natural frequencies, contours for the specified natural frequency are plotted in the same coordi- nate, and the intersection of the three curves predicts the crack location and size. The cracked rotor system is mod- eled using B-spline wavelet on the interval (BSWI) finite element method, and a method based on empirical mode decomposition (EMD) and Laplace wavelet is implemented to improve the identification precision of the first three measured natural frequencies. Compared with the classical nondestructive testing, the presented method shows its effectiveness and reliability. It is feasible to apply this method to the online health monitoring for rotor structure.展开更多
In this paper an optimization method of the runner blades in a bulb turbine based on CFD analysis is proposed.In the method the main scales of the turbine including guide vane,runner and draft are maintained.Only the ...In this paper an optimization method of the runner blades in a bulb turbine based on CFD analysis is proposed.In the method the main scales of the turbine including guide vane,runner and draft are maintained.Only the runner blades are modified based on the present method.In the optimization method the runner blade is expressed by spline surface with a gather of coordinate points.The B-spline curve is used to keep the modified blades smooth.In order to make the blade optimization simple and ef- ficient,one of the coordinates is fixed and only the angles of the points are changed according to different modification purposes.Three main optimization principles based on flow diagnosis are presented here.These three principles are all based on the CFD analysis of the internal flow in bulb turbine.For the purpose of method verification,the optimization method is used in a model bulb turbine.A three dimensional steady turbulent computation is carried out through the whole passage including the bulb body,guide vanes,runner and draft tube of the bulb turbine under seven different work conditions.An SST k-ωturbulence model is used during the CFD analysis and the performance of the turbine can be achieved.The runner blade is optimized according to the three optimization principles based on flow diagnosis.The CFD analysis is conducted again on the optimized turbine and another modification is needed if the new turbine can’t satisfy the required performance.Comparison of the computational results between the original turbine and an optimized one indicates that the optimization method is practical and does improve the performance of the bulb turbine.展开更多
