Various substituted phenylacetaldehydes and phenylacetylenes can undergo this reaction, producing corresponding α-aryl substituted naphthalene derivatives. Use of inexpensive and readily available BF3·Et20 catalyst constitutes the most attractive advantage of this transformation.展开更多
