The results show that the trend phase in July and January are nearly in-phase in Southwest and South China, but are out-of-phase in other regions. By using China National Climate Center’s 74 circulation characteristics, DERF2.0, BCC-CSM models and Wenzhou Typhoon Network data, and using linear regression, correlation coefficients and other research methods, the...By using China National Climate Center’s 74 circulation characteristics, DERF2.0, BCC-CSM models and Wenzhou Typhoon Network data, and using linear regression, correlation coefficients and other research methods, the variations about typhoon frequency in July from 1951 to 2020 and the large-scale circulation system in July 2020 are analyzed. The results show that 1) in the recent 70 years, the frequency of typhoon generation has slowly decreased, while the frequency of landing typhoons in China has slowly increased;2) typhoon frequency has varying degrees of negative correlation with the intensity of subtropical high in different regions of the northern hemisphere, especially with the area index and intensity index of the South China Sea subtropical high;3) in July 2020, the area and intensity of the subtropical high in the Northwest Pacific were abnormally large and strong. Easterly winds prevailed in the tropics, and the cross-equatorial airflow was weak, resulting in a severe reduction in the frequency of typhoon generation, leading to “no-typhoon” events.展开更多

It is c...The impact of the northward jump and westward movement of the East Asian westerly jet core fi：om the westem Pacific Ocean to the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau on precipitation distribution of eastem China is studied. It is concluded that on the one hand, the northward jump of the jet causes the precipitation belt to move northward from the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River valley and withdraw during the Mei-yu season; on the other hand, the westward movement of the jet core has no correspondence with withdrawal of the Mei-yu season. However, the earlier or later occurrence of the westward movement of the jet has an influence on the process of the rain belt moving northward than the northward jump of the jet： the rain belt moves northward from the middle-lower Yangtze River valley to the Huaihe River and then to an area between the Yellow River and Huaihe River during years when the time of the westward movement of the jet core is later than that of the northward jump of the jet and from the middle-lower Yangtze River valley to an area between the Yellow River and Huaihe River in other years. Further analysis shows that： （1） The northward jump of the jet and the westward movement of the East Asian westerly jet core causes significant variation of the general atmospheric circulation in middle latitudes and water vapor transport from the western Pacific, but not from the Bay of Bengal. （2） Impact of the northward jump and the westward movement of the East Asian westerly jet core on circulation are different, therefore, water vapor transport from the western Pacific and its impact on the rain belt are different. The earlier or later occurrence of the westward movement of the jet core than the northward jump of the jet causes the process of circulation and water vapor transport to be different which produces a different process of the rain belt moving northward.展开更多
To assess incidence of post-endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (post-ERCP) pancreatitis in the early (July/August/September) vs the late (April/May/June) academic year and evaluate in-hospital mortality, l...To assess incidence of post-endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (post-ERCP) pancreatitis in the early (July/August/September) vs the late (April/May/June) academic year and evaluate in-hospital mortality, length of stay (LOS), and total hospitalization charge between these time periods. METHODSThis was a retrospective cohort study using the 2012 Nationwide Inpatient Sample (NIS). Patients with International Classification of Diseases, 9<sup>th</sup> Revision, Clinical Modification (ICD-9 CM) procedure codes for ERCP were included. Patients were excluded from the study if they had an ICD-9 CM code for a principal diagnosis of acute pancreatitis, if the ERCP was performed before or on the day of admission or if they were admitted to non-teaching hospitals. Post-ERCP pancreatitis was defined as an ICD-9 CM code for a secondary diagnosis of acute pancreatitis in patients who received an ERCP as delineated above. ERCPs performed during the months of July, August and September was compared to those performed in April, May and June in academic hospitals. ERCPs performed at academic hospitals during the early vs late year were compared. Primary outcome was incidence of post-ERCP pancreatitis. Secondary outcomes included in-hospital mortality, length LOS, and total hospitalization charge. Proportions were compared using fisher’s exact test and continuous variables using student t-test. Multivariable regression was performed. RESULTSFrom the 36480032 hospitalizations in 2012 in the United States, 6248 were included in the study (3065 in July/August/September and 3183 in April/May/June) in the 2012 academic year. Compared with patients admitted in July/August/September, patients admitted in April/May/June had no statistical difference in all variables including mean age, percent female, Charleston comorbidity index, race, median income, and hospital characteristics including region, bed size, and location. Incidence of post-ERCP pancreatitis in early vs late academic year were not statistically significant (OR = 1.03, 95%CI: 0.71-1.51, P = 0.415). Similarly, the adjusted odds ratio of mortality, LOS, and total hospitalization charge in early compared to late academic year were not statistically significant. CONCLUSIONIncidence of post-ERCP pancreatitis does not differ at academic institutions depending on the time of year. Similarly, mortality, LOS, and total hospital charge do not demonstrate the existence of a temporal effect, suggesting that trainee level of experience does not impact clinical outcomes in patients undergoing ERCP.展开更多

A significant part of these documents consists of literary works which reveal a documentary nature by reflecting the period when they were written. Then it is safe to say that literary works play an effective role in terms of history teaching by carrying the features of a certain period in a nation＇s history with the realities depicted in them. On the contrary, depicting problems in literary works in terms of their socio-cultural and psychological effects on people and societies may produce a more effective history teaching then considering these problems in history books only in terms of their causes and effects. Especially the literary works centered on historical events generally serve as an integral part of history teaching. The best examples are the historical novels which are themed and plotted on a war-centered history. This paper undertakes to study the role of literature in communicating historical events and providing history teaching by considering one of the historical novels, namely ＂July 1941＂ by Grigory Baldanov.展开更多
