Due to their recursive structure, these receivers may suffer from error propagation which results in an overall mean square error degradation. An MIMO-DFE based BLAST receiver with limited error propagation to combat frequencyselective channel is proposed, which employs both norm constraint on feedback filter taps and soft decision device. Simulation results show that the proposed receiver outperforms conventional ones in various frequency selective channels.展开更多

In order to search the optimal antenna subset, a selection criterion is proposed, which is able to obtain the largest minimum post-detection SNR. The number of required antennas is deduced, which is determined by the system performance requirement for the existing RF chains. Simulation result shows that the optimal subset in a BLAST receiver has higher minimum sub-channel SNR than that in a ZF receiver. Computation of system performance can be fitted to a simple function, and it is simpler for the proposed algorithm to compute the required antenna number.展开更多

However, its performance is much poorer than those of other space-time coding approaches. In order to improve its performance, an improved BLAST based on RAKE receiving is investigated. The new system introduces orthogonal spreading sequences (OSS) into the transmitter while retains the basic structure of BLAST. The proposed receiver suppresses interferences from other antennas by the orthogonality contained in the received signals, and extracts information from each receiving antenna by using RAKE receiving principle to construct efficient statistic decision. Simulation results show that the improved system performs well over both frequency-fiat and frequency-selective fading channels.展开更多

In this paper, we propose two types of successive interference cancellation (SIC) detection schemes for the asynchronous V-BLAST system, one is characterized by applying Mr successive interference cancellators before a maximal ratio combiner (where Mr is the number of receive antennas), and the other has a maximal ratio combiner before a successive interference cancellator. Since Type Ⅰ consumes more energy of the previously detected signals to recover a signal, Type Ⅱ can offer a better performance and simulations demonstrate its validity.展开更多
