The coating has fine microstructure and is metallurgically bonded to the grade C steel substrate. The corrosion resistance of the coating in solutions of 0. 5 mol/L H2SO4 , 3.5 % NaCl and seawater was evaluated utilizing the electrochemical polarization corrosion-test method. Because of the inherent excellent corrosion- resisting properties of the constituting phase and the fine microstucture, the plasma clad coating exhibits excellent corrosion resistance in the water solutions of 0. 5 mol/L H2S04, 3.5% NaCl and seawater.展开更多

Wear test results showed that the wear rates of the nickel base coating without rare earths were quite high, and the load bearing capacity of coating was low, in contrast, the wear rates of the coating with rare earths were low and the coating had higher load bearing capacity. The results show that rare earths can refine the structure of nickel base alloy, improve the interface of the coating and substrate.展开更多

By using X-ray diffraction (XRD), the structure and texture coefficient of the coatings, TC(hkl), of IrO2 rutile crystal have been tested. It showed that, the crystallization processes of IrO2 and Ta2O5 in xIrO2 +(100-x) Ta2 O5 (x is in mol%) films affected and confined each other.In the mixed system, IrO2 rutile phase existed as a solid solution with Ta, and attained the maximum solubility when x=70mol%, i.e. for the coating of 70% IrO2 +Ta2O5.For the coatings of low iridium content or at low preparing tem pemture, (110) and (101) pwtered orientations were dominant. However, preferred growth of IrO2 weakened with increasing either iridium content or temperature. Three typical surface morphologies were observed by using scanning electron tnicroscopy(SEM). The crystallite size of the mixed oxide coatings were finest for the the film of 70%IrO2 +30%Ta2O5,and decreased with the pyrolysis tempemture. As the results of the finest crystallite segregating on sudece and the maxitnum solid solubility of Ir and Ta component in deposits, the coatings with the composition of 70%IrO2 +Ta2O5 prepared at 450℃ presented the mdrimutn electrocatalgtic activitg for O2 evolution in 0. 5M H2SO4 solution.UP to 550℃, Ti base suffered to oxidation resulting in decreasing anode conductivity,therefore, coatings performed a low activity.展开更多

Microstructural studies show that the coatings present a densely layered structure typical of thermally sprayed deposits with the porosity below 2%. Both crystallization and oxidation occurred obviously during spraying process, so that the amorphous fraction of the coatings decreased to 54% compared with fully amorphous alloy ribbons of the same component. Corrosion behavior of the amorphous coatings was investigated by electrochemical measurement. The results show that the coatings exhibit extremely wide passive region and low passive current density in 3.5% NaCl (mass fraction) and 1 mol/L HCl solutions, which illustrates excellent ability to resist localized corrosion.展开更多

The...Mierostrueture of the Fe-based alloy hardfaeing coating reinforced by TiC-VC particles was investigated by means of SEM, TEM, XRD and EPMA. The thermodynamics and effect of elements on the carbides were discussed. The result shows that TiC-VC carbides can be formed during arc welding. Carbides with particle size of 2 ~4μm are uniformly dispersed in the matrix. Evidently the covering components and their amount affect the microstrueture and hardness of the coatings. An excellent microstructure and hardness of hardfacing coating were obtained, while the amount of graphite, FeTi and FeV was controlled within the range of 8%- 10%, 15%- 18% and 8%- 12%, respectively.展开更多

The results show that a metallurgical bond between coating and substrate was obtained during the rapid solidification, the phases of the coating were composed of austenite and the eutectic of γ-Fe + (Cr, Fe)7(C, B)3. By the methods, the suspension rates of 99%, 98%, 96% and 94% can be achieved at 2h, 2h, 48h and 72h, respectively. Though there are many coating materials available to combat erosionecorrosion damage in the above components, iron based amorphous coatings are considered to be more effective to combat erosionecorrosion problems. High velocity oxy-fuel(HVOF)spray process is considered to be a better process to coat the iron based amorphous powders. In this investigation, iron based amorphous metallic coating was developed on 316 stainless steel substrate using HVOF spray technique. Empirical relationships were developed to predict the porosity and micro hardness of iron based amorphous coating incorporating HVOF spray parameters such as oxygen flow rate, fuel flow rate, powder feed rate, carrier gas flow rate, and spray distance. Response surface methodology(RSM) was used to identify the optimal HVOF spray parameters to attain coating with minimum porosity and maximum hardness.展开更多

The water contact angle and chemical solution resistance of the epoxy-based coatings were improved with an increase in graphene content from 0 to 0.4%. These results prove that addition of graphene can significantly improve the hydrophobicity and impermeability of epoxy- based coatings. However, when the graphene content was increased to 0.5%, the performance of the epoxy-based coatings decreased because of graphene aggregation. Tafel polarization results show that graphene addition can significantly reduce the corrosion current density and corrosion potential of epoxy-based coatings, which enhance their anti-corrosion performance.展开更多

The results show that the coatings mainly consist of amorphous phase and different intermetallic compounds. SEM, EDAX, XRD, AFM and Scratch Testers are adopted to conduct analysis and research on the microstructure, composition, phase and bonding strength of the coating. Results indicate that the microstructure of coating is metallurgically bonded with stainless steel base, eliminating porosities and cracks. The coating has a considerable quantity of nanometer particles visible with a granularity ^lOOnm under a nanoscope atomic microscope. The bonding strength of the laser cladded coating is remarkably improved respectively compared with conventional hot-sprayed coating and spray welding. The nanometer effect of nanometer WC/Co introduced into the coating plays an important role in the laser cladding processes.展开更多

The results demonstrate that both coated and uncoated specimens are not susceptible to various contents of NaCI. That may be resulted from the AI2O3 scale formation. The surface morphology, microstructure, interfacial behavior between the coatings and substrate, phase and element composition of the coatings were investigated by scanning electron microscope ( SEM ) , X-ray diffraction ( XRD ) , X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy ( XPS ) and Auger electron spectroscopy ( AES ) . Microhardness profile was measured with a Vickers microhardness tester. The results show that metallurgical bond between the coating and substrate is realized and the phase of coatings are made up of Ti( CN ) spherocrystal and dendritic crystal, TiV and C. Ti( CN) ceramic particles, which is in-situ synthesized by the reaction among titanium from the substrate, carbon from the graphite electrode and nitrogen from the shielding nitrogen gas, is about 600 mn and distributes dispersively among the coatings. Microharduess profile falls off with the coatings thickness increasing and the highest microhardness values of the superficial coating could be up to 1 496HV, which is six times more than that of the substrate.展开更多

The coatings were studied by using X-ray diffraction(XRD), scanning electron microscope(SEM), di...A gradient coating of Fe-based alloy was manufactured with rare earths (RE) by plasma surfacing on Q235 steel substrate. The coatings were studied by using X-ray diffraction(XRD), scanning electron microscope(SEM), differential thermal analyzer(DTA), and electron probe micro-analyzer (EPMA). The results show that the phases of the two kinds of coatings(with and without RE) both include α-Fe, Fe7C3, Fe3C, Cr2B, Fe2B and FeB. The microstructure of F314 coating is mainly hypereutectic, the pro-phases Cr7C3 and Cr2B are loose, crassi, spiculate and contain microcracks. The brittleness of the coating is high, and the average hardness is 787 HV. When 0.8wt% RE was added into the F314 alloy, the microstructure varied from hypoeutectic to hypereutectic continuously, The hardness appears as gradient distribution with the highest value of 773 HV, meanwhile, the brittleness decreases significantly. The formation of gradient structure depends on the fallowing factors: (i) the conversion of RE. The addition of RE lowers the elements point and Fe-C eutectic temperature, thus the base metal melting acutely. (ii) the heating of plasma arc. Graded temperature results in directional solidification, thus the gradient structure forms easily. The main reasons for the hardness decrease with RE addition in the alloy are the ratio of hard phase lowering and the hardness of the hard phase decreasing.展开更多

The results showed that a Ni-based cellular microstructure was bridged by "fiber-like" products. A high microhardness of Hv 856 was achieved after 400℃ heat treatment, which is nine times that of copper substrates (Hv 95). Nucleation, growth, and fusion of Ni atoms along the linear direction, induced by a linear-type cit- rate-metal structural "molecule template", led to in-situ growth of Ni-based fibers between cellular microspheres. After 400℃ heat treatment, the precipitation of NiP and Ni3P hard phases contributed to the high microhardness of Ni-based coatings.展开更多

High velocity oxy-fuel(HVOF)spray process is considered to be a better process to coat the iron based amorphous powders. In this investigation, iron based amorphous metallic coating was developed on 316 stainless steel substrate using HVOF spray technique. Empirical relationships were developed to predict the porosity and micro hardness of iron based amorphous coating incorporating HVOF spray parameters such as oxygen flow rate, fuel flow rate, powder feed rate, carrier gas flow rate, and spray distance. Response surface methodology(RSM) was used to identify the optimal HVOF spray parameters to attain coating with minimum porosity and maximum hardness.
文摘In this work, graphene-modified epoxy-based anti-corrosion coatings were prepared and the influence of graphene on the anti-corrosion performance of the epoxy-based coatings was investigated with water contact angle test ,chemical solution immersion test, and electrochemical test. The water contact angle and chemical solution resistance of the epoxy-based coatings were improved with an increase in graphene content from 0 to 0.4%. These results prove that addition of graphene can significantly improve the hydrophobicity and impermeability of epoxy- based coatings. However, when the graphene content was increased to 0.5%, the performance of the epoxy-based coatings decreased because of graphene aggregation. Tafel polarization results show that graphene addition can significantly reduce the corrosion current density and corrosion potential of epoxy-based coatings, which enhance their anti-corrosion performance.

文摘To improve the sliding wear resistance of AZ91D magnesium alloy, Cu-based amorphous composite coatings made of CuaTTi34Zr11Nis and Cu47Ti34Zr11Ni8+20 wt pct SiC powders were fabricated on AZ91D magnesium alloy by laser cladding, respectively. SEM (scanning electron microscopy), EDS (energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy), XRD (X-ray diffraction) and TEM (transmission electron microscopy) techniques were employed to study the phases of the coatings. The results show that the coatings mainly consist of amorphous phase and different intermetallic compounds. The reason of formation of amorphous phase and the function of SiC particles were explained in details.
文摘CO2 laser is adopted on the surface of austenitic stainless steel (ICrlSNiQ) to clad nickel based nanometer WC/Co composite coating. SEM, EDAX, XRD, AFM and Scratch Testers are adopted to conduct analysis and research on the microstructure, composition, phase and bonding strength of the coating. Results indicate that the microstructure of coating is metallurgically bonded with stainless steel base, eliminating porosities and cracks. The coating has a considerable quantity of nanometer particles visible with a granularity ^lOOnm under a nanoscope atomic microscope. The bonding strength of the laser cladded coating is remarkably improved respectively compared with conventional hot-sprayed coating and spray welding. The nanometer effect of nanometer WC/Co introduced into the coating plays an important role in the laser cladding processes.

文摘A thermal fatigue behaviour of Co-based alloy coating obtained by laser surface meltcasting on the high temperature alloy GH33 was studied.The results show that after each time of thermal cycling,the final residual stress was formed in the melt-casting layer which is attributed to the thermal stress and structural stress.Through the first 50 times of thermal cycling,the morphology of coating still inherits the laser casting one,but the dendrites get bigger;After the second 50 times of thermal cycling,corrosion pits emerge from coating,and mostly in the places where coating and substrate meet.The fatigue damage type of coating belongs to stress corrosion.
文摘The corrosion resistance of a low concentration chromate passive film for zinc based alloy coated steel wires was assessed by salt spray and electrochemical corrosion tests. XPS and AES analyses showed that the composition of such chromate passive film was S 5 5, Na 3 4, C 11 8, Ti 7 9, O 41 6, Cr 13 7, Zn 16 0.
文摘Hot-corrosion behaviors of nickel-base superalloy and aluminide diffusion coating have been investigated in conditions of contents of Na2SO4 and NaCI molten salts at 900℃ by means of XRD and SEM. Hot-corrosion scale of the superalloy and aluminide diffusion coating were analyzed and their surface morphologies were observed. The results demonstrate that both coated and uncoated specimens are not susceptible to various contents of NaCI. That may be resulted from the AI2O3 scale formation. Growth stress was characterized by the formation of convoluted scales.

文摘Electric-spark deposition (ESD) was adopted for depositing a Ti( CN) -based ceramic coating on the TC4 titanium alloy substrate using a laboratory-developed electric-spark deposition system, a nitrogen-sealed atmosphere and graphite electrode. The surface morphology, microstructure, interfacial behavior between the coatings and substrate, phase and element composition of the coatings were investigated by scanning electron microscope ( SEM ) , X-ray diffraction ( XRD ) , X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy ( XPS ) and Auger electron spectroscopy ( AES ) . Microhardness profile was measured with a Vickers microhardness tester. The results show that metallurgical bond between the coating and substrate is realized and the phase of coatings are made up of Ti( CN ) spherocrystal and dendritic crystal, TiV and C. Ti( CN) ceramic particles, which is in-situ synthesized by the reaction among titanium from the substrate, carbon from the graphite electrode and nitrogen from the shielding nitrogen gas, is about 600 mn and distributes dispersively among the coatings. Microharduess profile falls off with the coatings thickness increasing and the highest microhardness values of the superficial coating could be up to 1 496HV, which is six times more than that of the substrate.
文摘A gradient coating of Fe-based alloy was manufactured with rare earths (RE) by plasma surfacing on Q235 steel substrate. The coatings were studied by using X-ray diffraction(XRD), scanning electron microscope(SEM), differential thermal analyzer(DTA), and electron probe micro-analyzer (EPMA). The results show that the phases of the two kinds of coatings(with and without RE) both include α-Fe, Fe7C3, Fe3C, Cr2B, Fe2B and FeB. The microstructure of F314 coating is mainly hypereutectic, the pro-phases Cr7C3 and Cr2B are loose, crassi, spiculate and contain microcracks. The brittleness of the coating is high, and the average hardness is 787 HV. When 0.8wt% RE was added into the F314 alloy, the microstructure varied from hypoeutectic to hypereutectic continuously, The hardness appears as gradient distribution with the highest value of 773 HV, meanwhile, the brittleness decreases significantly. The formation of gradient structure depends on the fallowing factors: (i) the conversion of RE. The addition of RE lowers the elements point and Fe-C eutectic temperature, thus the base metal melting acutely. (ii) the heating of plasma arc. Graded temperature results in directional solidification, thus the gradient structure forms easily. The main reasons for the hardness decrease with RE addition in the alloy are the ratio of hard phase lowering and the hardness of the hard phase decreasing.
文摘Ni-based coatings were deposited on copper substrates by a hydrothermal approach. The results showed that a Ni-based cellular microstructure was bridged by "fiber-like" products. A high microhardness of Hv 856 was achieved after 400℃ heat treatment, which is nine times that of copper substrates (Hv 95). Nucleation, growth, and fusion of Ni atoms along the linear direction, induced by a linear-type cit- rate-metal structural "molecule template", led to in-situ growth of Ni-based fibers between cellular microspheres. After 400℃ heat treatment, the precipitation of NiP and Ni3P hard phases contributed to the high microhardness of Ni-based coatings.
