The Central Axis of Beijing Described in Western Records

Many of the earliest Western adventurers to China elaborated in their writings about the symmetric structure of Beijing anchored on a central axis.KNOWN as a confluence of Eastern civilizations, ancient Beijing fascinated Europeans for its grand size and majestic buildings. At the core of the city is a 7.8-kilometer Central Axis that extends between the Drum Tower and Bell Tower in the north and the Yongding Gate in the south, along which stand many architectural icons that have been preserved to date.

Development of a “Space-Saving Model” for a One-Family Dwelling Case Study of Japanese Architecture with Space Limitations

The rapid globalization of building standards and codes in regards of contemporary housing and the growth of populations during this century demands an immediate response from designers in terms of space rationalizing to fulfill the forthcoming lack of architectural habitat on earth. The differences in culture imply a difference in the way of living, and the way of living indicates a contrast in the way of designing houses. A western house does not need an extra room covered with tatami mats for relaxation as a modern Japanese home would most likely do, as a separate living-like space. Organizations, among others, like CABO (Council of American Building Officials) and, in our specific case study, BCJ (Building Center of Japan) together with BRI (Building Research Institute) try to overcome these differences to provide better housing conditions to the world through the formulation of global designing and building standards. International publications like UBC (Uniform Building Code), IBC (International Building Code), OTFDC (One and Two Family Dwelling Code) and BSLJ (Building Standard Law of Japan) have also played an important role to globalize safety and design codes to better understand global housing under normal conditions. However, space limitations and concentration of human masses in mega cities result in a crucial new consideration: the urgent need of investigating the possibilities of rationally living within less space. Minimums provided by most codes do not take into account the space issue and overpopulation of large cities. Providing with some design recommendations for one-family dwellings has been the departure point and main motivation to carry out this case study based on actual buildings with the lack of space conditioning in a country where these conditions turn into reality.

Prolegomena for a Living Architecture

Rational and intuitive can be considered as two sides of the same coin? If they coexist in the design process,what do they refer to and what do they stand out for? What kind of relationship can be established between the act of prefiguring the work and of putting it into operation,according to procedures and techniques that are coherent and necessary for its construction? The value of an architectural project is shown by its being a continuous search for expression of art,even if,as we know,architecture also has a social function and plays a civil role.The universal meanings and the cultural reference context,which have always been the heritage of the architectural project,are increasingly taking on a secondary value.Issues and concepts such as:tradition,memory,modernity,invention and location seem to have lost any research prerogative at the expense of the meaning and use attributed to the architectural and urban composition in the overall design process.

Architectural Color of Streets in Cultural Quintessence Area of Dongjiaomin Lane in Beijing City

Based on the research on architectural color context in cultural quintessence area of Dongjiaomin Lane in Beijing City,the historical causes and changes of architectural color characteristics are explored.Through the investigation on the architectural color status of streets,GIS technology is used to construct architectural color information database for systematic study,and the typical characteristics,main laws and major problems of architectural color of streets are excavated.Combining social investigation and psychological evaluation,the public’s psychological judgment and demands on architectural color are mastered in a multi-dimensional way.Based on various conclusions,this paper explores scientific and effective methods for architectural color planning and coordination of streets,and puts forward specific suggestions for color protection planning,with a view to creating a architectural color pattern of streets in cultural quintessence area of Dongjiaomin Lane with overall harmony,perfect order,ancient and modern integration,and distinctive characteristics.

Research on the Architectural Design Positioning of University Halls

University hall is an important carrier of information exchange and sharing in higher education campuses,and the correct architectural design positioning can improve the value of university halls.There are many different features in the design and use of university halls and urban theaters.This paper investigates the feasibility study report and indexes of university hall projects,analyzes the indexes,construction scale and functional positioning of university halls in the pre-design period,summarizes some design suggestions,and believes that the use efficiency of university halls should be improved through intensive and compound construction to meet the needs of the rapid development of Chinas Universitys and universities.

交通强国战略下交通院校建筑类研究生特色化培养机制研究

交通强国战略导向下,交通院校应适应国家经济社会建设发展需要,充分发挥学校的办学优势,进行建筑类研究生特色化培养,以满足我国交通建设的高素质国际化人才需求。对国内8所交通特色院校建筑类研究生的培养方案进行调研发现,理论课程及设计实习均较少涉及对交通建设问题的探索,国际教育受限于学制和学籍管理而系统性和特色性不强,研究及实践未结合交通建设的前沿问题而创新性不足。因此,结合研究生高质量培养和交通强国战略的要求,在对国内外相关研究进行深入剖析的基础上,提出交通院校建筑类研究生特色化培养机制:建立多学科交叉、理论联合实际的研究生课程体系;建立政产学研协同育人的研究生培养机制;坚持“引进来”和“走出去”并重的国际联合培养机制。这对我国交通院校建筑类研究生特色化培养具有重要意义。

高校科研产出是体现高校教学科研能力的重要指标,是衡量高校学科发展水平内涵式发展的核心要素。文章利用ESI和InCites数据库,从Web of Science论文数、被引频次、引文影响力、H指数、Q1论文、国际国内合作论文、潜力值(被引频次/阈值)等指标体系,对比分析安徽建筑大学的科研论文产出及影响力,预测优势及潜力学科,提出优化学科发展布局、拓展深层次的国际合作与交流等建议,为新一轮高水平建筑类大学学科建设提供基础支撑和要素保障。

浙江大学建筑学专业设计基础课程教学体系发展脉络研究

自1959年浙江大学建筑学专业创办以来,设计基础课程教学体系随着时代发展经历了多次调整变化。文章在现有档案文件及相关教师采访等史料分析的基础上,将浙江大学建筑学专业设计基础课程教学体系的发展变化概括为三个主要阶段,分别为:1959年至1988年、1989年至2009年和2010年至2022年,并着重介绍这三个阶段的教学内容、教学方法和教学特点,目的在于对浙江大学建筑学专业设计基础课程教学体系的发展变化进行归纳总结,厘清其历史发展脉络并作为存档史料,为后续研究提供有价值的支撑材料。

高校云直播教学平台体系架构设计及应用分析

云直播教学平台是一种基于云计算和互联网技术,通过实时直播和互动交流的方式进行教学的新型平台。为了解决在线教学平台普遍存在的技术要求高、支持人数有限、难以满足板书需求以及无法实现“线上+线下”混合式教学等问题,提出直播平台体系架构。该设计方案的直播主要借助教室原有的摄像头和多媒体设备,同时支持中国教育和科研计算机网联邦认证与资源共享基础设施(CERNET Authentication and Resource Sharing Infrastructure,CARSI),使全国高校能够以云租户形式接入并进行自服务管理,充分发挥高校云直播教学平台的应用价值。

北京先农坛建筑彩画颜料的光谱学研究

北京先农坛是明清时期皇家祭祀建筑的重要历史遗迹,是中华民族传统重农思想的传播载体,见证着中华文化源远流长。在自然和人为因素的长期影响下,先农坛建筑彩画出现了烟熏、剥落等多种病害,亟待保护。为了获取先农坛建筑彩画中的物质成分信息以支撑彩画的保护修复工作,应用便携式拉曼光谱仪、便携式X射线荧光(XRF)对先农坛具服殿中三幅具有代表性的建筑彩画进行无损分析,结合显微拉曼光谱、扫描电镜-能谱(SEM-EDS)、X射线衍射(XRD)等方法对残片的分析,成功获得了绘制彩画所用颜料的主要成分。结果表明,三幅彩画的打底材料均含有碳酸钙,金龙图案表面有金箔留存。此外,在原始彩画中使用了朱砂、铅丹、铅白、氯铜矿和靛蓝等颜料;修复彩画中除上述朱砂、铅丹、铅白外,在金龙图案区域检测到了铅丹和雌黄的混用,且所用蓝色和绿色颜料分别为群青和巴黎绿,这与原始彩画中所使用的颜料不同;在重绘彩画中鉴别出多种近代合成颜料,如钛白、铬黄、苏丹红Ⅰ、酞菁绿、群青、亮红色β-萘酚等。根据颜料的使用情况结合史料记载,确定了三幅彩画的绘制时期分别为1754年、1860年以及1997年左右。由于缺乏对原始彩画中所用颜料的了解,导致后期修复的彩画所用颜料与原始彩画不同。该研究不仅有助于建筑彩画保存历史的判断,更为彩画的保护提供了可靠依据,对后续的保护和修复工作具有重要的指导意义。

北京传统中轴线遗产区园林绿地是中轴线的重要组成,与城市空间和建筑空间共同构成中轴线的遗产本体。中轴线园林绿地是北京老城历史累积叠加形成的具有生命的历史文化遗产,对北京传统中轴线申遗具有重要价值。通过研究传统中轴线遗产区园林绿地的发展历程,厘清了不同时期园林绿地在有形要素“位置与格局”“建筑与景观”和无形要素“功能与传统”三方面的发展情况,进而分析得出中轴线园林绿地的五大历史遗产价值。结合中轴园林绿地的历史遗产价值和保护现状,提出传统中轴线遗产区园林绿地保护和管理的相关建议。
