Soundscape evaluation and integrated humanist ecology of audiovisual sense in Hangzhou Gongshu section of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal

Located at the end of the Beijing-Hangzhou Canal,Hangzhou has a historical and cultural heritage with an abundance of acoustic and visual landscape.The paper introduces the concept of“soundscape”into the canal landscape design,and analyzes its characteristics through documentary analysis,questionnaire method,soundscape walk method,grid method and statistical analysis method.Besides,GIS is also used to present the analysis in a visualized way.The study adopt the increase,decrease and protect design methods which are commonly used in soundscape and the landscape combination methods derived from the classic landscape rules.Eventually,the design is performed in a targeted manner from the perspective of the integrated design of vision and soundscape,offering a optimum proposal and construction strategy.It is hoped that it can promote the design of the integrated acoustic-visual environment of the canal so as to improve the overall spatial environment quality of the urban canal.

Comparative Analysis of the Spatial-temporal Distribution and Influencing Factors of the Tourism Industry in Three Cities along Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal in China

The temporal-spatial pattern of linear cultural heritage in the context of the tourism industry is closely linked to heritage management.Using the 1800 km long Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal as an example,this study compared the dynamic evolution of tourism businesses in Beijing,Liaocheng,and Yangzhou at three time points(2010,2015,and 2019)via nearest neighbor analysis,kernel density estimation,and the standard deviational ellipse.Next,a Geo-detector was used to examine the influencing factors.The results reveal significant growth regardless of the quantity or agglomeration degree from 2010 to 2019,and the direction of industrial expansion is consistent with the flow direction of the canal.Moreover,the explanatory powers of factors related to socioeconomic development and canal resources are obviously stronger than those of the natural environment.The findings of this study offer theoretical constructs and policy recommendations for the sustainable development of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal and other linear cultural heritage sites.

Evaluation of the Spatial Quality of the Greenway on the Tonghui River in Beijing

This study organized the current status of tangible cultural heritage along the Tonghui River.The spaces along the Tonghui River were classified according to the farmland,suburban areas,urban residential areas,and urban center areas.Spatial analysis of the current situation was conducted through Baidu Street View images,with a focus on evaluating the spatial environment around the tangible cultural heritage.Negative factors affecting the reuse of cultural heritage were analyzed,such as poor appearance of buildings and low accessibility of transportation along the Tonghui River.

Assessing Linear Urban Landscape from dynamic visual perception based on urban morphology

As an essential part of the urban landscape,linear urban landscape(LUL)is the interaction between humans and nature,which is closely associated with daily life and brings multiple characteristics to visual perception.Current studies focus on complex models that describe visual perception using static viewpoints,but lossing the continuous and dynamic features of visual perception.This paper provides a general framework that can quantify dynamic visual perception based on urban morphology and improves accuracy in the descriptions of LUL linear spatial characteristics.Based on Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal(Hangzhou urban section),the proposed framework combines the indicators of multiple dimensions to quantify dynamic visual perception and emphasizes the continuity of LUL.To represent the dynamic visual perception and the spatial pattern characteristics of LUL,different evaluation criteria of indicators are set according to landscape scales.To minimize subjectivity and uncertainty caused by subjective cognition and fulfill the landscape pattern under different urban development policies,we set up distinct scenario preference patterns.With appropriate fine-tuning of scenario preference patterns and setting of movement types,the proposed method can be adapted to other LUL projects and aspires to provide a general methodology and scientific guidance for urban planning and landscape management.
