Highly crystalline orthorhombic Bi2WO6 powders were hydrothermally synthesized from aqueous solutions of Na2WO4 · 2H2O and Bi (NO3)3 · 5H2O over a wide range of pH. The effect of pH on morphologies, sizes and properties of the Bi2WO6 crystals was investigated. The band gaps of the as-prepared Bi2WO6 were determined from the onset of the absorption edge of UV-vis diffuse reflectance spectra. The methyl orange photodegradation was employed as a probe reaction to test the photocatalytic activity of the as-prepared samples under visible light irradiation. The photocatalytic activities of methyl orange degradation under visible light irradiation are strongly dependent on the pH used in the synthesis. The highest efficiency is observed at pH=7. 展开更多

Bi_2WO_6 was modified by two-dimensional g-C_3N_4(2D g-C_3N_4)via a hydrothermal method.The structure,morphology,optical and electronic properties were investigated by multiple techniques,including X-ray diffraction(XRD),X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy spectra(XPS),Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR),scanning electron microscopy(SEM),transmission electron microscopy(TEM),Ultravioletvisible diffuse reflection spectroscopy(DRS),photocurrent and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS),electron spin resonance(ESR),respectively.Rhodamine B(Rh B)was used as the target organic pollutant to research the photocatalytic performance of as-prepared composites.The Bi_2WO_6/2D g-C_3N_4exhibited a remarkable improvement compared with the pure Bi_2WO_6.The enhanced photocatalytic activity was because the photogenerated electrons and holes can quickly separate by Z-Scheme passageway in composites.The photocatalytic mechanism was also researched in detail through ESR analysis. 展开更多

Photocatalysis is considered as an ideal strategy for water pollution treatment.However,it remains challenging to design a highly efficient photo-catalytic system through regulating the charge flow via a precise approach.In this work,a novel NH2-MIL-125(Ti)/Bi2WO6 composite was constructed via self-assembly growing Bi2WO6 nanosheets on NH2-MIL-125(Ti)material.The characterization results demonstrated that NH2-MIL-125(Ti)was successfully incorporated into Bi2WO6 and the photoexcited carriers could be efficiently separated and transferred between the two components.NH2-MIL-125(Ti)/Bi2WO6 composites displayed enhanced photocatalytic activity for the removal of rhodamine B(RhB)and tetracycline(TC)under visible light irradiation,and the optimal weight ratio of NH2-MIL-125(Ti)was determined to be 7 wt%.The introduction of NH2-MIL-125(Ti)into Bi2WO6 could raise the absorption of visible light,accelerate the separation and transfer of charge carriers,and boost photocatalytic activity.This research presents a wide range of possibilities for the further development of novel composites in the field of environment purification. 展开更多

The rare earth ion Yb^3+ doped Bi2WO6 photocatalysts were synthesized by hydrothermal method.Moreover,XRD,XPS,FESEM,TEM,Ramam,N2 adsorption-desorption isotherm measurements and UV-vis diffusion reflectance spectra were used to characterize the Yb^3+ doped Bi2WO6 photocatalysts.The morphology,specific surface area,and pore volume distribution were greatly affected after Yb3+ ions doping.Photocatalytic performance of Bi2WO6 was effectively enhanced after Yb3+ ions doping,6% Yb^3+ doped Bi2WO6 had the best photocatalytic performance,and 96.2% Rhodamine B was degradated after irradiated 30 min,which was 1.29 times that of the pristine one.The enhanced photocatalytic performance was due to the increased specific surface area,decreased energy band gap and inhibition of photoelectron-hole recombination after Yb3+ ions doping. 展开更多
