Investigation on dependence of BiFeO_3 dielectric property on oxygen content

The influence of oxygen content on the dielectric property of BiFeO3 ceramics is studied by experiment and firstprinciples calculation. The experimental result demonstrates that the dielectric constant of BiFeO3 is strongly dependent on introduced oxygen and oxygen vacancies. By comparison with BiFeO3, the introduced oxygen and oxygen vacancies can lead to a reduction in dielectric constant of BiFeO5 at a lower frequency. The first-principles calculation also shows a similar result when photon energy is in a range of 2.0-4.1 eV. A likely explanation is that this oxygen content dependence may be ascribed to the distortion of Fe-O octahedron structure due to oxygen vacancies or excess oxygen ions in the crystal structure of BiFeO3. 展开更多

Bi1-xTbxFeO3 (x = 0, 0.01, 0.03 and 0.05) nanoparticles are synthesized by the sol-gel method. A single phase perovskite rhombohedral structure of all the samples is established from the Rietveld refined XRD patterns. The substitution of Tb^3+ ions to Bi^3+ decreases the particle size and enhances the ferromagnetic properties of this system. Interestingly a large maximum magnetization value of 1.73emu/g at 50kOe can be observed in 1% Tb-doped sample at 300 K. The decrease in band gap may result from the reduced particle size, while the leakage current density also decreases, which is mainly explained by the variation of oxygen vacancies. 展开更多

In this work, microwave dielectric properties of A-site substitution by La 3+ in (Pb_ 0.45Ca_ 0.55)(Fe_ 0.5Nb_ 0.5)O_3 system were investigated. Microwave dielectric properties of A-site charge unbalance substitution of [(Pb_ 0.45Ca_ 0.55)_ 1-xLa_x](Fe_ 0.5Nb_ 0.5)O 3+ (P45CLFN) were improved because the solid solution of small amount of surplus La 3+ with (Pb,Ca) 2+ could eliminate oxygen vacancies, and the formation of secondary phase(pyrochlore) was also caused by surplus La 3+. The decreasing of dielectric constant with the increase of La 3+ content is due to the formation of pyrochlore. The grain size is changed slightly and Q_f values(7000~7300 GHz) are almost unchanged at x=0.02~0.10, but the temperature coefficient of resonant frequency (TCF) are increased and changed from negative to positive. TCF is zero at x=0075 with Q_f=7267 GHz and K=89. TCF of all specimens are within ±5×10 -6 ℃ -1. 展开更多

Solid solutions on the base of composition from morphotropic phase boundary(1-x)BiScO_(3)–xPbTiO_(3) with x=0.64,0.645,0.65 were prepared from nitrates solutions.Variations in phase content,structure parameters,microstructure,dielectric and piezoelectric properties of dense ceramic samples were studied.The first-order phase transitions were observed at temperatures near 700 K.The influence of the processing conditions on the morphology,temperature of phase transitions,and dielectric parameters was observed.In some ceramics effect of dielectric relaxation was observed at high temperatures.This effect was explained by the contribution from ionic transport due to the oxygen vacancies creation during high temperature sintering. 展开更多
