Design/methodology/approach: Records retrieved from Web of Science were submitted to author co-citation analysis(ACA) following a longitudinal perspective as of the following time slices: 1986–1996, 1997–2006, and 2007–2015. The top 10% of most cited first authors by sub-periods were mapped in bibliometric networks in order to interpret the communities formed and their relationships.Findings: KM is a homogeneous field as indicated by networks results. Nine classical authors are identified since they are highly co-cited in each sub-period, highlighting Ikujiro Nonaka as the most influential authors in the field. The most significant communities in KM are devoted to strategic management, KM foundations, organisational learning and behaviour, and organisational theories. Major trends in the evolution of the intellectual structure of KM evidence a technological influence in 1986–1996, a strategic influence in 1997–2006, and finally a sociological influence in 2007–2015.Research limitations: Describing a field from a single database can offer biases in terms of output coverage. Likewise, the conference proceedings and books were not used and the analysis was only based on first authors. However, the results obtained can be very useful to understand the evolution of KM research.Practical implications: These results might be useful for managers and academicians to understand the evolution of KM field and to(re)define research activities and organisational projects.Originality/value: The novelty of this paper lies in considering ACA as a bibliometric technique to study KM research. In addition, our investigation has a wider time coverage than earlier articles.展开更多

We investigated the trends in publication of articles under the topic "neurogenic bladder" using bibliometric analysis. Articles on neurogenic bladder, published between 1995 and 2014, were retrieved from the ISI Web of Science citation database. We analyzed the search results for authors, countries, institutions, journals, and top-cited papers. A total of 1,904 articles were re- trieved. There was a small increase in the number of articles on neurogenic bladder from 1995 (n = 43) to 2014 (n = 117). The USA was the leading country in the total number of articles (n = 598). However, the number of publications from China has rapidly increased, and China was ranked second in 2014. Emmanuel Chartier-Kastler (n = 65) was the most productive author, and University of Paris VI (Paris 6) (n = 61) was the most productive institution. The Journal of Urology published the greatest number of artides on this topic (n = 285). Articles on neurogenic bladder were often published in a professional journal under the category Urology & Nephrology, Neurosciences & Neurology, or Rehabilitation. Visualization analysis based on co-citation networks was conducted using CiteSpace III. Visualization analysis revealed that the hot spots in neurogenic bladder were botulinum toxin-A, prazosin, bethanechol, and afferent pathways. These findings provide new insight into the publication trends and hot spots in neurogenic bladder.展开更多

Despite the availability of a number of ranking algorithms, most of them use common popularity metrics such as the citation count, h-index, and Impact Factor (IF). These adopted metrics cause a problem of bias in favor of older publications that took enough time to collect as many citations as possible. This paper focuses on solving the problem of bias by proposing a new ranking algorithm based on the PageRank (PR) algorithm;it is one of the main page ranking algorithms being widely used. The developed algorithm considers a newly suggested metric called the Citation Average rate of Change (CAC). Time information such as publication date and the citation occurrence’s time are used along with citation data to calculate the new metric. The proposed ranking algorithm was tested on a dataset of scientific papers in the field of medical physics published in the Dimensions database from years 2005 to 2017. The experimental results have shown that the proposed ranking algorithm outperforms the PageRank algorithm in ranking scientific publications where 26 papers instead of only 14 were ranked among the top 100 papers of this dataset. In addition, there were no radical changes or unreasonable jump in the ranking process, i.e., the correlation rate between the results of the proposed ranking method and the original PageRank algorithm was 92% based on the Spearman correlation coefficient.展开更多

It becomes more complex when the dynamicity exists in data sets. One of the suitable examples is Scopus data sets which changes every time. In this case, precise measurement of consistency in document and citation publications is considered as one of the issues. It becomes more complex when the parameter like h-index and document count can be also manipulated over the period of time. To resolve this issue, a time-based index called as “t-index” is illustrated in this paper with an example. This method measures the randomness in document publication and citation using the average h-index and its entropy measurement.展开更多

These findings provide new insight into the publication trends and hot spots in neurogenic bladder.
文摘The process of ranking scientific publications in dynamic citation networks plays a crucial rule in a variety of applications. In addition, there were no radical changes or unreasonable jump in the ranking process, i.e., the correlation rate between the results of the proposed ranking method and the original PageRank algorithm was 92% based on the Spearman correlation coefficient.

文摘Recent time handling uncertainty and its measurement is considered as one of the major issues by data science and applied mathematics researchers. This method measures the randomness in document publication and citation using the average h-index and its entropy measurement.
文摘AIM:To identify the 100 most cited papers in cataract surgery,we performed a comprehensive bibliometric analysis basing on the literature search on the Thomson Reuters Web of Knowledge.METHODS:The number of citations, including the total citations, latest 5y citations and average citation number per year(ACY),authorship, year of publication, major topics, journal of publication, country and institution of origin of each paper were recorded and then analyzed.Pearson’s correlation analysis was conducted to evaluate the correlation between the published year and the number of citations. The correlation between journal’s impact factor(IF)and number of citations was assessed as well.RESULTS:The most cited paper was the classic paper done by the European Society of Cataract&Refractive Surgeons(ESCRS)group. This paper focused on the topic of endophthalmitis. Not only the most cited papers originated from the USA,but also some American institutions like Johns Hopkins University,Harvard Medical School, etc.had the most citations.Pearson’s correlation analysis indicated that the latest 5y citations and ACY were significantly related with the published year(5y citations:r=0.615,P〈0.001;ACY:r=0.657,P〈0.001),whereas no association between the total number of citations and published year was found(r=0.045).Moreover,the IFs of journals were found to have no significant effect on the number of total citations.CONCLUSION:To our knowledge, this is the first study on the most influential papers in cataract surgery aftera comprehensive research of relevant literatures. The present work may provide us concise information concerning the development history of cataract surgery over the past 66y.
