A multi-degree-of-freedom device is proposed,which can achieve efficient vibration reduction as the main objective and energy harvesting as the secondary purpose.The device comprises a multiscale nonlinear vibration a...A multi-degree-of-freedom device is proposed,which can achieve efficient vibration reduction as the main objective and energy harvesting as the secondary purpose.The device comprises a multiscale nonlinear vibration absorber(NVA)and piezoelectric components.Energy conversion and energy measurement methods are used to evaluate the device performance from multiple perspectives.Research has shown that this device can efficiently transfer transient energy from the main structure and convert a portion of transient energy into electrical energy.Main resonance and higher-order resonance are the main reasons for efficient energy transfer.The device can maintain high vibration reduction performance even when the excitation amplitude changes over a large range.Compared with the single structures with and without precompression,the multiscale NVA-piezoelectric device offers significant vibration reduction advantages.In addition,there are significant differences in the parameter settings of the two substructures for vibration reduction and energy harvesting.展开更多
High qualityβ-Ga_(2)O_(3)single crystal nanobelts with length of 2−3 mm and width from tens of microns to 132μm were synthesized by carbothermal reduction method.Based on the grown nanobelt with the length of 600μm...High qualityβ-Ga_(2)O_(3)single crystal nanobelts with length of 2−3 mm and width from tens of microns to 132μm were synthesized by carbothermal reduction method.Based on the grown nanobelt with the length of 600μm,the dual-Schottky-junctions coupling device(DSCD)was fabricated.Due to the electrically floating Ga_(2)O_(3)nanobelt region coupling with the double Schottky-junctions,the current I_(S2)increases firstly and rapidly reaches into saturation as increase the voltage V_(S2).The saturation current is about 10 pA,which is two orders of magnitude lower than that of a single Schottky-junction.In the case of solar-blind ultraviolet(UV)light irradiation,the photogenerated electrons further aggravate the coupling physical mechanism in device.I_(S2)increases as the intensity of UV light increases.Under the UV light of 1820μW/cm^(2),I_(S2)quickly enters the saturation state.At V_(S2)=10 V,photo-to-dark current ratio(PDCR)of the device reaches more than 104,the external quantum efficiency(EQE)is 1.6×10^(3)%,and the detectivity(D*)is 7.5×10^(12)Jones.In addition,the device has a very short rise and decay times of 25−54 ms under different positive and negative bias.DSCD shows unique electrical and optical control characteristics,which will open a new way for the application of nanobelt-based devices.展开更多
Improving vehicle fuel consumption,performance and aerodynamic efficiency by drag reduction especially in heavy vehicles is one of the indispensable issues of automotive industry.In this work,the effects of adding app...Improving vehicle fuel consumption,performance and aerodynamic efficiency by drag reduction especially in heavy vehicles is one of the indispensable issues of automotive industry.In this work,the effects of adding append devices like deflector and cab vane corner on heavy commercial vehicle drag reduction were investigated.For this purpose,the vehicle body structure was modeled with various supplementary parts at the first stage.Then,computational fluid dynamic(CFD) analysis was utilized for each case to enhance the optimal aerodynamic structure at different longitudinal speeds for heavy commercial vehicles.The results show that the most effective supplementary part is deflector,and by adding this part,the drag coefficient is decreased considerably at an optimum angle.By adding two cab vane corners at both frontal edges of cab,a significant drag reduction is noticed.Back vanes and base flaps are simple plates which can be added at the top and side end of container and at the bottom with specific angle respectively to direct the flow and prevent the turbulence.Through the analysis of airflow and pressure distribution,the results reveal that the cab vane reduces fuel consumption and drag coefficient by up to 20 % receptively using proper deflector angle.Finally,by adding all supplementary parts at their optimized positions,41% drag reduction is obtained compared to the simple model.展开更多

The critical parts of the de...A kind of hybrid device for acoustic noise reduction and vibration energy harvesting based on the silicon micro- perforated panel (MPP) resonant structure is investigated in the article. The critical parts of the device include MPP and energy harvesting membranes. They are all fabricated by means of silicon micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS) tech- nology. The silicon MPP has dense and accurate micro-holes. This noise reduction structure has the advantages of wide band and higher absorption coefficients. The vibration energy harvesting part is formed by square piezoelectric membranes arranged in rows. ZnO material is used as it has a good compatibility with the fabrication process. The MPP, piezo- electric membranes, and metal bracket are assembled into a hybrid device with multifunctions. The device exhibits good performances of acoustic noise absorption and acoustic-electric conversion. Its maximum open circuit voltage achieves 69.41 mV.展开更多
In recent years, graphical processing unit (GPU)-accelerated intelligent algorithms have been widely utilized for solving combination optimization problems, which are NP-hard, These intelligent algorithms involves a...In recent years, graphical processing unit (GPU)-accelerated intelligent algorithms have been widely utilized for solving combination optimization problems, which are NP-hard, These intelligent algorithms involves a common operation, namely reduction, in which the best suitable candidate solution in the neighborhood is selected. As one of the main procedures, it is necessary to optimize the reduction on the GPU. In this paper, we propose an enhanced warp-based reduction on the GPU. Compared with existing block-based reduction methods, our method exploit efficiently the potential of implementation at warp level, which better matches the characteristics of current GPU architecture. Firstly, in order to improve the global memory access performance, the vectoring accessing is utilized. Secondly, at the level of thread block reduction, an enhanced warp-based reduction on the shared memory are presented to form partial results. Thirdly, for the configuration of the number of thread blocks, the number of thread blocks can be obtained by maximizing the size of thread block and the maximum size of threads per stream multi-processor on GPU. Finally, the proposed method is evaluated on three generations of NVIDIA GPUs with the better performances than previous methods.展开更多
