The Construction of Integrated Nursing Model Prevention of Oxaliplatin Chemotherapy-Induced Peripheral Nerve Injury

Objective: To investigate the effect of the integrated nursing model in the prevention of chemotherapy-induced peripheral injury. Methods: A total of 60 tumor patients receiving oxaliplatin for 1 - 6 cycles of chemotherapy from January to September 2023 were selected. 30 patients were selected from January to March and divided into the control group, and 30 patients were selected from July to 9 as the experimental group. The control group received conventional chemotherapy nursing, while the experimental group received integrated nursing. Anxiety, peripheral nerve toxicity stage and quality of life score were compared between the two groups before and after intervention. Results: After intervention, the scores of the self-rating Anxiety Scale (SAS) and the total scores of the oxaliplatin Levi specific sensory neurotoxicity scale in the experimental group were significantly lower than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P< 0.05);The Quality of Life Scale (FACT-G) score of cancer patients was higher than that of control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P< 0.05). Conclusion: The integrated nursing model can effectively reduce the anxiety of patients, reduce the incidence of peripheral nerve injury and improve the quality of life of patients.

Expert consensus on diagnosis and treatment of ulcerative colitis with integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine:A nursing perspective

Ulcerative colitis(UC)is a chronic nonspecific intestinal inflammatory disease of unclear etiology,characterized by continuous and diffuse inflammatory changes of colorectal mucosa.In recent years,the incidence rate of UC in China has increased year by year,but there is no effective cure method in Western medicine.Traditional Chinese medicine treatment based on syndrome differentiation has the unique advantages of simplicity,convenience,effectiveness,and low cost.Therefore,integration of Chinese and Western medicine has become an important strategy for UC diagnosis and treatment,and has made significant progress in UC.On the basis of learning from a number of consensuses at home and abroad,combined with Chinese research results and the actual clinical situation of traditional Chinese and Western medicine,the UC group of the Chinese Association of Integrative Medicine has formulated the expert consensus on the diagnosis and treatment of UC with integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine.In this consensus,the pathogenesis,etiology and pathogenesis,diagnosis,integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine treatment,and chronic disease management with integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine for UC were recommended by experts.This article interprets the consensus from the perspective of nursing in order to provide reference basis for clinical nursing workers.

Treatment of postpartum depression with integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine nursing and electrical stimulation

BACKGROUND Postpartum depression(PPD)is a common psychological disease among puerperal women,and postpartum pelvic floor dysfunction is a common disease among pregnant women.The occurrence of postpartum pelvic floor dysfunction will increase the incidence of PPD.AIM To explore the therapeutic effect of integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine nursing combined with electrical stimulation of pelvic floor muscles and the rectus abdominis on PPD.METHODS From April 2020 to January 2022,100 parturients with a rectus abdominis muscle separation distance>2.0 cm who underwent reexamination 6 wk after delivery at our hospital were selected as the research subjects.According to the random number table method,the patients were divided into either an observation group(n=50)or a control group(n=50).There was no significant difference in the general data between the two groups(P>0.05).Both groups were treated by electrical stimulation.The observation group was additionally treated by integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine nursing.A self-designed Depression Knowledge Questionnaire was used to evaluate the awareness of knowledge on depression in all patients 3 wk after intervention.The Hamilton Depression Scale(HAMD)was used to evaluate the depression before intervention and 1 wk and 3 wk after intervention,and the Morisky Medication Adherence Scale(MMAS-8)was used to evaluate the medication compliance.SPSS19.0 was used for statistical analyses.RESULTS The rate of awareness of knowledge on depression in the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group(P<0.05).The scores of MMAS-8 were comparable between the two groups before intervention(P>0.05),but were significantly higher in the observation group than in the control group at 1 wk and 3 wk after intervention(P<0.05).The HAMD scores were comparable between the two groups before intervention(P>0.05),but were significantly lower in the observation group than in the control group at 1 wk and 3 wk after intervention(P<0.05).CONCLUSION Integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine nursing combined with electrical stimulation of pelvic floor muscles and the rectus abdominis is effective in the treatment of postpartum depression and worthy of clinical promotion.

Nursing perspective of expert consensus for diagnosis and treatment of gastric cancer with integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine

Gastric cancer is a common and highly malignant tumor of the digestive system,which seriously threatens human health.The benefit of surgical treatment is limited.The effect of radiotherapy and chemotherapy is not significant,and the toxic and side effects are large.Although the diagnosis and treatment modes of molecular targeting and multidisciplinary cooperation have also been further developed and applied,a relatively unified comprehensive treatment standard scheme has not been formed.Traditional Chinese medicine(TCM),as complementary and alternative medicine,has unique advantages in the development of diagnosis and treatment of diseases in China.Therefore,the Chinese Association of Integrative Medicine formed“Expert Consensus for Diagnosis and Treatment of Gastric Cancer with Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine”on the basis of clinical practice and experience.In this article,the consensus is interpreted from the perspective of nursing,focusing on the pathogenesis,high‑risk factors,characteristic therapies of TCM,and nursing of integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine for gastric cancer,to provide a reference for front‑line medical personnel in the roots in the future nursing care of gastric cancer.

Effectiveness of Implementing an Integrated Care Management Program for Rabies Vaccination Patients

Objective:To analyze the effect of implementing a comprehensive nursing management program for rabies vaccination patients.Methods:100 cases of rabies vaccination patients were selected as observation objects from January 2022 to December 2023,and after enrollment,they were grouped according to the different nursing management programs,with 50 cases in each group.The control group was only given routine nursing management,and the observation group was combined with comprehensive nursing management on the basis of routine nursing management.The completion rate of vaccination,the rate of adverse reactions,and the satisfaction rate were assessed,comparing the clinical effects of different nursing management programs.Results:The completion rate of the 5th shot of rabies vaccination in the observation group was 82.00%higher than 64.00%in the control group(χ^(2)=4.1096,P<0.05);the rate of adverse reaction of vaccination in the observation group was 4.00%lower than 18.00%in the control group(χ^(2)=5.0051,P<0.05);the vaccination satisfaction in the observation group was 98.00%higher than 86.00%in the control group(χ^(2)=4.8913,P<0.05).Conclusion:The application of comprehensive nursing management program can help rabies vaccination patients to improve the completion rate of vaccination and reduce the incidence of adverse reactions to vaccination,with clear effects.

Development of Specialized Courses and Establishment of Teaching Materials in Nursing of Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine

Since the Third Plenary Session of the 11 thCentral Committee of the Communist Party of China( CPC),with the promotion and development of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM),the pace of TCM nursing work has been accelerated in nationwide,and a group of integrated Chinese and western medicine nurses have been cultivated preliminarily. However,professional nurses of integrated Chinese and western medicine are still deficient extremely. The target of talent cultivation,based on the theory of "focusing on humanism,expanding diathesis,and enhancing practice to highlight the accommodation and integration of nurses of integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine",is to cultivate competent,practical and interdisciplinary senior nursing talents with strong professional basis,skilled operations,rich humanistic literacy,and sharp innovative spirit who not only master modern nursing knowledge and skills,but also can perform comprehensive nursing under the guidance of TCM theory of holistic concept and syndrome differentiation and nursing. This study,through investigating and analyzing the settings of3-year nursing professional courses in about 20 senior medical colleges,including senior nursing education of TCM,reformed the development of professional nursing courses of integrated Chinese and western medicine and the establishment of educational materials according to the course settings and educational work modes,so as to analyze the current status of nursing education of integrated Chinese and western medicine,determine course targets,and establish course system and educational work modes.

Relationship of Stress Coping Behaviors and Changes in Resilience during an Integrated Nursing Practicum

This study aims to clarify what kinds of resilience and coping strategies students employ to successfully complete their clinical practicum and provide suggestions for instruction that will allow students to carry out effective learning activities. The study subjects were 86 students enrolled at Nursing University A for the 2019 school year and planning to take the integrated nursing practicum. The survey was conducted using an anonymous, self-administered questionnaire. The Wilcoxon signed-rank test was used to determine the amount of change in resilience factors from the surveys before and after the practicum. Subsequently, multiple regression analysis was carried out with stress coping behaviors that were significantly associated with resilience factors in univariate analysis as independent variables and the amount of change in resilience factors before and after the practicum as dependent variables. A total of 56 responses were received (response rate 65.8%) from the 85 survey subjects. Innate resilience factors increased significantly from 41 pre-practicums to 44 post-practicums. Acquired resilience factors also increased significantly from 32 pre-practicums to 35 post-practicums (p < 0.01). The results of multiple regression analysis found that the stress coping behavior of “changing point of view” (β = 0.361, p < 0.01) and pre-practicum innate resilience factors (β = −0.456, p < 0.01) were significantly associated with innate resilience factors. Examining the relationship between the amount of change in student resilience and stress coping behaviors revealed that the stress coping behavior of “changing point of view” was associated with innate resilience. This finding suggests that resilience may be increased by changing one’s perspective on an event by taking on a new way of thinking. The results suggested that helping students transform realizations made during reflection into learning and create a sense of meaning may lead to fostering innate resilience during integrated nursing practicums.

Nursing perspective of Guidelines for Diagnosis and Treatment of Gout with Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine

Gout is a common rheumatism and its long-term recurrent attacks can cause joint destruction and deformity,even disability,which seriously affects the quality of life of patients.Chinese medicine plays a unique advantage in the treatment and rehabilitation of gout.To further standardize the diagnosis and treatment of gout with integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine,the Chinese Association of Integrative Medicine issued the Guidelines for Diagnosis and Treatment of Gout with Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine in August 2021.Expert recommendations were made on the etiology and pathogenesis;diagnosis and classification standards;patient health management;and integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine treatment,prevention,and nursing of gout.This article interprets the guidelines from the nursing point of view,focusing on the detailed explanation of diet care,functional exercise,and appropriate techniques of traditional Chinese medicine for gout,in order to provide better clinical reference for high-quality nursing services for gout patients.

Nursing perspective of the expert consensus on diagnosis and treatment of integrated Chinese and Western medicine in lung cancer

Lung cancer is a malignant tumor with the highest incidence and mortality in China,which seriously affects the quality of life of patients.Traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)plays a unique advantage in the treatment and rehabilitation of lung cancer.In order to standardize TCM diagnosis and treatment and disease management of clinical medical workers,the Chinese Association of Integrative Medicine issued the“Expert Consensus on the Diagnosis and Treatment of Lung Cancer by Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine”in August 2021.Experts’recommendations were made on the clinical staging and syndrome differentiation and classification of lung cancer,characteristic TCM therapies,and nursing care of integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine.This article interpreted the Consensus on the above aspects from a nursing perspective,hoping to provide references for clinical medical workers in the treatment and nursing care of lung cancer.

Construction of nursing standard of integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine for patients with COVID‑19 (mild and common) in Beijing based on Delphi method

Objective:The objective of this study is to establish a nursing standard of integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine for patients with COVID‑19(mild and common)in Beijing,to provide reference for clinical nursing of patients with COVID‑19(mild and common).Methods:Through online communication meeting with nurses who are in the frontline of anti‑epidemic,clinical investigation,literature research,and expert demonstration meeting are carried out to prepare the draft of the standard,and the Delphi method is applied to determine the standard of integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine care for patients with COVID‑19(mild and common)in Beijing.Results:The nursing standard of integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine for patients with COVID‑19(mild and common)was established,which included 5 first‑level indicators,14 second-level indicators and 60 third‑level indicators.After two rounds of Delphi method,the positive coefficients of experts were 96%and 83%,the authoritative coefficients of experts were 0.89 and 0.91,and the Kendall’s coefficient of concordance(W)of experts were 0.12,0.09,0.10,0.13(P<0.05)and 0.44,0.43,0.37,0.39(P<0.05).Conclusion:The standard of integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine nursing for patients with COVID‑19(mild and common)in Beijing constructed by the Delphi method is scientific and practical,which provides a reference for clinical application of integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine nursing to fight against COVID‑19 infection.

As one of the most common malignant tumors in the world,colorectal cancer(CRC)is accompanied by a variety of symptoms in the process of disease development and treatment,which seriously affect the functional state and quality of life of patients.In China,comprehensive intervention measures of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)play an indispensable role in the treatment and rehabilitation of CRC.In order to further standardize and improve the treatment and management of CRC by medical staff,the Chinese Association of Integrative Medicine issued the“Expert Consensus for Diagnosis and Treatment of Colorectal Cancer with Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine”in August 2021.This paper interprets this consensus in detail from the perspective of nursing,focusing on the common understanding of the pathogenesis of CRC,TCM diagnosis and syndrome differentiation,integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine nursing,TCM characteristic therapies,etc.,with a view to deepening the understanding and practical application of the consensus among clinical doctors and nurses and improving the level of diagnosis,treatment,and nursing of CRC.

Nursing perspective of expert consensus on the diagnosis and treatment of cerebral infarction with integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine

Cerebral infarction(CI)is also known as ischemic stroke.It is one of the most common cerebrovascular diseases,with high mortality and disability rate,which has seriously threatened human health.To better apply the diagnosis and treatment plan of integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine to the treatment of patients with CI,the Chinese Association of Integrative Medicine issued the Expert Consensus on the Diagnosis and Treatment of Cerebral Infarction with the Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine in 2021.It involves etiology and pathogenesis of CI,diagnosis and treatment standards of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)and Western Medicine,syndrome elements of TCM,as well as rehabilitation nursing of CI with integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine during acute period and recovery period.This study interprets the consensus from routine nursing,dietary nursing,emotional nursing,complication nursing,rehabilitation nursing,and continuous nursing,aiming to provide evidence-based support for clinical TCM nursing practice.

Research on the effect of health care integration on patients’ negative emotions and satisfaction with lung cancer nursing activities

BACKGROUND Lung cancer is a clinical disease with multiple malignant tumors.Currently,it is difficult for patients to benefit from routine clinical nursing due to the lack of a pertinent and systematic approach.AIM To investigate the effect of integrated nursing care on the negative emotions and satisfaction of lung cancer patients.METHODS From January 2018 to December 2019,92 patients with lung cancer were selected and divided into the study group and the control group;there were 46 patients in each group.The control group received routine nursing,and the study group received integrated medical care in addition to the care received by the control group.Negative emotions before and after the intervention,the self-management ability score after the intervention,family care burden after the intervention and nursing satisfaction after the intervention were measured in the two groups.RESULTS After the intervention,the self-rating anxiety scale and self-rating depression scale scores in the study group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05);the scores for health knowledge,self-concept,self-responsibility and self-care skills in the study group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05);the scores for individual burden and responsibility burden in the study group were lower than those before the intervention(P<0.05);and the nursing satisfaction in the study group(93.48%)was higher than that in the control group(78.26%,P<0.05).CONCLUSION An integrated nursing care approach for lung cancer patients can effectively relieve the patient’s negative feelings,improve their self-management ability,help to reduce the burden of family care and improve patient satisfaction with nursing activities.

Factors contributing to nurses'resilience in caring for COVID-19 patients:an integrative review

Objective:To summarize factors contributing to the resilience of nurses in caring for coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)patients.Methods:An integrative review was conducted according to the recommendations proposed by Whittemore and Knafl.Articles were searched through 8 electronic databases:Pub Med,Scopus,Clinical Key for Nursing,Pro Quest,Medline and Wiley Online Library,CINAHL,and Garuda,which are databases recommended by the Ministry of Education,Culture,Research,and Technology in Indonesia.Relevant ar ticles published in English and Indonesia between 2019 and 2022,being quantitative or qualitative theoreticalmethodological studies that analyzed or proposed factors to nurses’resilience in caring for COVID-19 patients,were included,whereas primary studies that used review as a methodology to review an object of research were excluded.Results:From the 17 ar ticles that were included in this study,3 factors were found that contributed to the resilience of nurses in caring for COVID-19 patients,namely personal factors,workplace/organizational factors,and social factors.Conclusions:Understanding factors related to nurses’resilience during the COVID-19 pandemic can contribute to meet nurses’resilience both physical y and psychologically.Good resilience of nurses during a pandemic is useful for improving nursing care services and patient safety,as well as for being able to avoid turnover intentions among nurses in pandemic time.

Research progress of “shared nurses” under the family community hospital integrated management mode

In order to meet the diverse and multilevel health service needs of the people,following the implementation of the“multi-point practice”of registered physicians by the government in 2009,many pilot projects on the legality of“shared nurses”have been carried out,but there are many difficulties in the process.Through reviewing and researching the relevant literature inland and abroad,this study explores the application of family-community-hospital integrated medical and nursing management model in order to provide a reference for the development and management of“shared nurses”in China.

Integration of Health Promotion into Nursing Practice: A Case Study in Pakistan

The purpose of this study was to understand the concept of health promotion and perceptions related to the integration of health promotion in nursing practice in Pakistan. The study utilized the qualitative single case study approach to explore and describe the concept of health promotion, its significance and ways to integrate health promotion strategies in nursing practice. The data were collected from three different sources;focus group discussion among final year Post-RN BScN students, key informant interviews of practicing nurses, faculty, and MScN students, as well as a document review of the Post-RN BScN curriculum. Data analysis included a content and thematic analysis, yielding four major themes—”Health Promotion as Diverse”, “Health Promotion as Necessary”, “Health Promotion as Nursing Role”, and “Health Promotion as a Strategic Imperative”. Further, the findings highlighted the competencies, support mechanisms, and barriers which select nurses faced while integrating the health promotion strategies in practice.

Research on the Reform of“Traditional Chinese Medicine Nursing”Teaching Based on the Concept of Outcome-Based Education

Continuously evolving teaching concepts and the adoption of diverse teaching methods have led to outcome-oriented education becoming a fundamental focus of teaching reform in colleges and universities.In this article,the“Traditional Chinese Medicine Nursing”course is used as an example to discuss the reform of education based on the concept of outcome-based education,with the purpose of improving students'learning outcomes and practical skills.

Cognition and expansion of nursing science:A response to the discussion paper entitled“At the intersection of science and theory:How the Nurse Role Integration Model reconciles the conflict”

“Should research using animal models be included in the field of nursing science study?”When asked by colleagues during her Ph.D.program,Sharon G.Casavant,a student at the University of Connecticut School of Nursing,realized she was not prepared to answer.This question inspired her to embark on a self-reflection journey regarding nursing roles and subsequently create the Nurses’Role Integration Model adapted from the Neuman Systems Model.In this model,Casavant identifies research such as investigation using animal models,collecting human clinical biomarkers,and clinical data analysis as primary prevention under the heading Science of Nursing,reflecting the nurse’s work.

The application of integrated medical and nursing rehabilitation in the management of patients with chronic heart failure and diabetes

Background At present,patients with chronic heart failure complicated with diabetes are often treated with drugs in clinical practice.Most patients cannot adhere to regular and quantitative medication for a long time,and their poor compliance has adverse effects on their rehabilitation.The aim of this study was to explore the application effects of integrated medical and nursing rehabilitation in the management of patients with chronic heart failure and diabetes.Methods A total of 75 patients with chronic heart failure and diabetes,admitted to our center from May 2020 to May 2023,were randomly divided into Group A(n=38)and Group B(n=37)using a random number table.Group A received integrated rehabilitation management,while Group B received conventional rehabilitation management.The left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF),left ventricular end-diastolic diameter(LVEDD),left ventricular end-systolic diameter(LVESD),fasting blood glucose(FBG),2-hour postprandial blood glucose(2h PG),glycated hemoglobin(Hb Alc),and self-care ability were compared between the two groups before and after intervention.Results After intervention,the LVEDD and LVESD in both groups were lower than before,while LVEF was higher than before(P<0.05).The LVEDD and LVESD in Group A were lower than in Group B after intervention,while LVEF was higher than in Group B(P<0.05).After intervention,the levels of FBG,2h PG,Hb Alc,and the scores of the European Heart Failure Self-care Behavior Scale(EHFSc B-9)in both groups decreased,with Group A being lower than Group B(P<0.05).Conclusions Integrated medical and nursing rehabilitation can effectively improve the cardiac function and blood glucose levels of patients with chronic heart failure and diabetes,control the patients’condition,and enhance their quality of life and self-care ability.[S Chin J Cardiol 2024;25(1):44-49]

We are so pleased to announce that Volume 3 Issue 1 of TMR Integrative Nursing has been published today. The aim of the journal is to enhance the concern about certain conditions through aggregating evidence related to a certain issue. In the current issue, the journal reported 6 articles, of which 3 focused on nursing for orthopedic diseases including total hip arthroplasty, knee joint replacement and posterior lumbar decompression and fusion.
