Sesamum indicum has various biological effects,and this study aimed to investigate its hypolipidemic effect.A hyperlipidemia rat model was established by feeding rats with high-fat diets in this study,then the hyperli...Sesamum indicum has various biological effects,and this study aimed to investigate its hypolipidemic effect.A hyperlipidemia rat model was established by feeding rats with high-fat diets in this study,then the hyperlipidemia rats were fed with different doses of black and white sesame seeds and black and white sesame kernels.The serum and liver biochemical indicators of the rats were determined,and liver pathology analysis was conducted to evaluate the hypolipidemic effect of sesame.The results showed that the blood lipid of SD(Sprague-Dawley)rats fed with high-fat diet for three weeks was higher than 200 mg/d L,indicating that the hyperlipidemia rat model was successfully established.At the same dose,the final body weights of the rats of white sesame seed and kernel groups were higher than those of the black sesame seed and kernel groups;and the weights of the black and white sesame seed groups were lower than those of the black and white sesame kernel groups.The liver indexes of the normal control group and the experimental groups were significantly lower than the model control group(P<0.05),indicating that black and white sesame seed and kernel could reduce the lipid accumulation on the liver.The malondialdehyde(MDA)values of the liver in the normal control group and the experimental groups were significantly lower than that in the model control group(P<0.05).The total antioxidant capacity(T-AOC),high density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C),glutathione peroxidase(GSH-Px)and total superoxide dismutase(T-SOD)in the liver of each experimental group were significantly higher than those in the model control group(P<0.05).Based on the above results as well as pathological observation and analysis,we found that the black and white sesame seeds and kernels could improve fatty liver lesions and lipid metabolism disorder and could reduce lipid accumulation on the liver,thereby protecting the liver from damage and reducing the risk of fatty liver.Moreover,black and white sesame seeds,black and white sesame kernels can reduce the levels of total cholesterol(TC)and triglyceride(TG)in serum,and high dose of black sesame seeds(30%black sesame seeds)and low dose of black sesame kernels(10%black sesame kernels)were more beneficial for the recovery of hyperlipidemia and fatty liver.The above results indicated that black and white sesame has hypolipidemic effect.展开更多

The authors come t...The paper analyzes the concept of Ether and substantiates the necessity of its existence as a physical reality, which arises within the framework of the concept developed by the authors of the work. The authors come to the conclusion that the existence of Ether in two different forms, plays an exceptional role in the formation of Dark Matter and Dark Energy and leads to the emergence of exotic cosmological structures and their hierarchy in energy, temporal, and spatial scale. The mechanism of the formation of physical structures before the Big Bang and their further evolution, up to the formation of worlds of galaxies and stars, is considered. The necessity of the emergence of exotic structures, such as 3 spheres of the Primary Relict, is shown, its structure and dynamic properties leading to the formation of Order from Chaos are considered. The role of the 1st and 2nd type Ether in the formation of the mechanism of transformation of cosmic energies and quantum phase transitions, in the process of the birth and evolution of the Universe is discussed. The conclusion is made about the existence of universal properties of matter, at the level of Macro and Microcosms, and a multidimensional cosmological model with an isothermal temperature distribution is constructed, leading to a discrete distribution of matter separated by transitions, by analogy with Black-and-White Holes. Aims Black spruce(Picea mariana[Mill.]B.S.P.)and white spruce(Picea glauca[Moench]Voss.)are congeneric species.Both are moderately shade tolerant and widely distributed across North American boreal forests.Methods To ...Aims Black spruce(Picea mariana[Mill.]B.S.P.)and white spruce(Picea glauca[Moench]Voss.)are congeneric species.Both are moderately shade tolerant and widely distributed across North American boreal forests.Methods To understand light effects on their ecophysiological responses to elevated CO_(2),1-year-old seedlings were exposed to 360µmol mol−1 and 720µmol mol−1 CO_(2)at three light conditions(100%,50%and 30%of full light in the greenhouse).Foliar gas exchanges were measured in the mid-and late-growing season.Important Findings Elevated CO_(2)increased net photosynthesis(Pn)and photosynthetic water use efficiency,but it reduced stomatal conductance and transpiration.The stimulation of photosynthesis by elevated CO_(2)was greatest at 50%light and smallest at 100%.Photosynthesis,maximum carboxylation rate(Vcmax)and light-saturated rate of electron transport(Jmax)all decreased with decreasing light.Elevated CO_(2)significantly reduced Vcmax across all light treatments and both species in mid-growing season.However,the effect of elevated CO_(2)became insignificant at 30%light later in the growing season,with the response being greater in black spruce than in white spruce.Elevated CO_(2)also reduced Jmax in white spruce in both measurements while the effect became insignificant at 30%light later in the growing season.However,the effect on black spruce varied with time.Elevated CO_(2)reduced Jmax in black spruce in mid-growing season in all light treatments and the effect became insignificant at 30%light later in the growing season,while it increased Jmax later in the season at 100%and 50%light.These results suggest that both species benefited from elevated CO_(2),and that the responses varied with light supply,such that the response was primarily physiological at 100%and 50%light,while it was primarily morphological at 30%light.展开更多

Besides the large numbers of established non-nativ...Florida, along with Hawaii, has among the two worst invasive species problems in the USA, and the state is espe-cially susceptible to establishment by alien reptiles. Besides the large numbers of established non-native reptile species in Florida, many of these species present novel difficulties for management, or have other characteristics making effective management ex-tremely challenging. Moreover, initiation of management action requires more than recognition by experts that a potentially harmful species has become established. It also requires the political will along with concomitant resources and appropriate per-sonnel to develop effective methods and apply them. We review the situation in Florida, including assessment of risk for estab- lishment, and we use a subset of prominent species to illustrate in more detail the array of invasive reptile species circumstances in Florida, including routes of introduction, impacts, and potential and implemented management actions. The variable density topology optimization(TO)method has been applied to various engineering fields because it can effectively and efficiently generate the conceptual design for engineering structures.However,it suffe...The variable density topology optimization(TO)method has been applied to various engineering fields because it can effectively and efficiently generate the conceptual design for engineering structures.However,it suffers from the problem of low continuity resulting from the discreteness of both design variables and explicit Heaviside filter.In this paper,an implicit Heaviside filter with high continuity is introduced to generate black and white designs for TO where the design space is parameterized by suitably graded truncated hierarchical B-splines(THB).In this approach,the fixed analysis mesh of isogeometric analysis is decoupled from the design mesh,whose adaptivity is implemented by truncated hierarchical B-spline subjected to an admissible requirement.Through the intrinsic local support and high continuity of THB basis,an implicit adaptively adjusted Heaviside filter is obtained to remove the checkboard patterns and generate black and white designs.Threefold advantages are attained in the proposed filter:a)The connection between analysis mesh and adaptive design mesh is easily established compared with the traditional adaptive TO method using nodal density;b)the efficiency in updating design variables is remarkably improved than the traditional implicit sensitivity filter based on B-splines under successive global refinement;and c)the generated black and white designs are preliminarily compatible with current commercial computer aided design system.Several numerical examples are used to verify the effectiveness of the proposed implicit Heaviside filter in compliance and compliant mechanism as well as heat conduction TO problems.展开更多
